I've installed new font into system(if it's important OS is Windows Vista), but it was not added in flash(i.e I can't select a new font as a font of a text field). What should I do to make flash see new font?

I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.
I have been useing fonts like A.C.M.E secret agent, Crashlanding, Feast of flesh, mouth breather and so on.When i export the project all the text becomes Times new roman on other computers but mine. Or let me re phrase that to make sure there is no confusion.When the project is viewed on my computer the font looks fine but when viewed on any other computer the font is Times new roman and the sizes are completely messed up.

This is dynamic text from an XML file. I've embedded the fonts [Verdana regular and bold - OpenType] in Flash CS5 but the bold won't display even though the special characters do display [Jónsi].

View 6 RepliesWhen the files are downloaded to your computer there are several file folders included. Some are for pictures and there is HTML as well as the SWF files and the INDEX. In very short order I determined that you could simply replace there pictures with your pictures and even change the text on the buttons as well as the body of the site. It seemed very painless. We are now down to just one issue that I cannot figure out. On the main page there is a place on the page for the company name. I went into the HTML and changed that which worked fine.
My issue is that she already has a predefined font for her company. It is Trajan Pro. I cannot find anything in the HTML that has to do with the font.However there is a folder included in the download which is entitled "fonts". Within that folder is the various fonts used in the website. how I can change the font that is being used?
PS -- There is a folder full of Photoshop images which are basically the pages of the site. They have many layers. I tried to change the company name and font in Photoshop but it had no affect.
When I trace something in flashcs5, font size in the output panel is very big. Is there somewhere where I can set preferences for this panel? In other version of flash it was a lot smaller and readable.
View 1 RepliesI googled this relentlessly, but was unable to find an answer. I have a font --- P22 Hopper (PC Postscript Type 1) --- that does not show up accuratly in Flash CS4. The font is script, but it shows up as a generic sans serif. I have inserted a screenshot to illustrate. Oddly, this font shows up perfectly in all other CS4 products and also works fine in Flash 8.
View 2 RepliesI'm setting up some auto build scripts with ant and jsfl for use in Flash CS4. I have a few files that have some missing fonts. For these I just want to have the default mapping selected since the text content in question isn't displayed. I think CS5 may have an option to not display the mapping dialog, but CS4 doesn't. Anyone know if there's a jsfl method to targert this window and just select 'OK'?

Within the .fla file's I have checked the Import for runtime sharing with the various font definitions.In the library the linkage part shows for every font the Import: classnamTo get a correct idea how things look within the IDE, I've checked several character ranges within the font properties so the preview renders correctly.In Flash CS5 everything was working correctly; no font outline was included within the SWF. The size report also shows this.When I create the SWF with Flash CS5.5 font outlines of the selected ranges still get embedded into the SWF. The file size of the SWF is much larger and the font outline information shows up in the size report.
View 8 RepliesI'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.
View 2 RepliesThe navigation buttons in my .fla file are set to the font, Arial MT in Bold. It displays no problem on my desktop computer. However, when I view the website on my laptops, the font changes to what looks to be something like Times New Roman. The same thing happens with my "Read More" button text. It's also originally in Arial MT Bold. On my desktop it appears fine but on my 2 laptops it appears to be in Times New Roman. This is more of an issue because I have these buttons underlined. When viewing in my laptops, these underlines appear to be too long. If I shorten it, it'll probably appear to be too short when I view on my desktop. How can I get the font to be one consistent font for all computers?

In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

I have a swf A, which contains no font.If I download into it the swf F1, which contains few characters of Arial, then I'll have the arial font embed into A, no problem with that.But if, then, I download the swf F2, which contains other characters of Arial into swf A, will I be able to use all the embed characters font, only the F2, or only the F1 ?I'd like to have a link to somewhere where this is explained, even in very technical terms : I wasn't able to find one.
EDIT : After few tests, it seems that the player replace the loaded font... How can I merge them, then ?
Is it possible to embed a font in Flash and have it displayed as though it was a device font? In other words, can embedded fonts be aliased?Using the bitmap-text option doesn't work, Flash tends to screw up a lot of the character spacing. I haven't found any pixel fonts that mimic Arial, Verdana and Tahoma accurately. Setting the stage quality to low does alias the fonts but they become fragmented.Using device fonts is an option but, as far as I understand, some browsers/operating systems will take it upon themselves to anti-alias the text.

I am really confused and irritated by this.The fields are placed on the stage manually and must be able to handle htmlText.I embed all 3 fonts in the library but it doesnt work. If I only use one of the fields, and therefore only one style, it works great.
