Basically, i have buttons in my swf file that get updated once in a while. I need to be able to italicize one button, while keeping the other buttons regular font.(so i cant just italicize the font in flash library)So far i can only change font size and colour, but not italicize..

View 5 RepliesI have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.
I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.
View 2 RepliesThe navigation buttons in my .fla file are set to the font, Arial MT in Bold. It displays no problem on my desktop computer. However, when I view the website on my laptops, the font changes to what looks to be something like Times New Roman. The same thing happens with my "Read More" button text. It's also originally in Arial MT Bold. On my desktop it appears fine but on my 2 laptops it appears to be in Times New Roman. This is more of an issue because I have these buttons underlined. When viewing in my laptops, these underlines appear to be too long. If I shorten it, it'll probably appear to be too short when I view on my desktop. How can I get the font to be one consistent font for all computers?

I am really confused and irritated by this.The fields are placed on the stage manually and must be able to handle htmlText.I embed all 3 fonts in the library but it doesnt work. If I only use one of the fields, and therefore only one style, it works great.
View 3 RepliesI have been useing fonts like A.C.M.E secret agent, Crashlanding, Feast of flesh, mouth breather and so on.When i export the project all the text becomes Times new roman on other computers but mine. Or let me re phrase that to make sure there is no confusion.When the project is viewed on my computer the font looks fine but when viewed on any other computer the font is Times new roman and the sizes are completely messed up.

View 1 RepliesI have created an animation where I have pictures and text accompanying the pictures sliding in and out. However, I want to change the font of the text across the entire animation. What is the easiest way to do this? I have found when I have tried it, (changing the font in the text box) that sometimes it throws the whole animation out for each key frame that has that text (if this makes any sense). In other words, suppose I change the font in keyframe 1, the change it at the next keyframe, sometimes the second keyframe is no longer consistent with the first, perhaps only slightly and therefore the animation can run a bit choppy as it goes from keyframe to keyframe.

The website runs perfectly on my MAC core 8 but when I view it on either of my laptops (both are also Macs couple months old) the main title of the site + the on/off for the music appears in a completely different font and one word of the title disappears.I have tried turning the title to a button and to a movie and kept it as text and nothing makes a difference..

Mostly it is used for user-entered and dynamic content.However, CS5 is auto-embedding the few characters I use in Arial, and all of the other characters are no longer showing up in the swf file.The only fix seems to be embedding the entire Arial font in the movie, which is too large since I want to be able to support all kinds of characters.Is there a way to turn off auto-font embedding?This feature seems well-intentioned but critically flawed if it can't be turned off.

I decided to embed the font through the Text -> Font Embedding method and go back and change all the textfields to the embedded font. So in Illustrator you can "Find Font" in your document so you can pinpoint and change or delete text using that said particular font.In Flash I have a piece of text using an old font somewhere in my FLA (I've updated with a new one for all text since) and I'd like to locate it and either delete it or replace it with the font I'd like to use. When I open the file it prompts me in regards to me not having this old font any longer (the font I'd like to remove) and I tell it each time to use the newer font

View 6 RepliesI've been trying to set all our movies up to link to shared Font symbols in external libraries. This is working fine in CS5, but in CS5.5 it fails completely. We use AS2, but saving it as AS3 doesn't fix it. I've made a barebones movie with the problem, which you can find at [URL]. What I've done is to create four separate movies, each of which contains one Font symbol that is marked as available for sharing. Then my test movie contains four font symbols each of which is linked to one of these fonts. In CS5 this works fine, and the fonts are replaced at runtime with the externalised fonts; I can also assign these fonts to (AS2) components. In CS5.5, however, the new fonts don't show up at all.
