I've installed a couple of fonts on my Mac that I want to use in Flash CS3, but they're not showing up in the font list.how do I install them so that Flash will pick them up?
View 2 RepliesMy musical notes in my swf no longer display but are replaced by letters of the alphabet or the amphersand.
How can I get the notes to display? when I to to the symbol it shows the letter of the alphabet but in the fla when I look at the Text, Font it has the (Musical Symbols) Default Font selected as it should.
I use javascript to play a flash file, and it plays correctly. But it also needs to parse some configuration files in the flash default directory. So the problem is: the flash file I am going to play can't access its config file for the wrong working directory.
For example, I specify the swf path value as 'falsh/list/test.swf', so my javascript will give this swf value by swfobject.embedSWF to play this flash. But the flash file flash/list/test.swf needs to parse a config file in the same directory with flash file like flash/list/config.xml. The problem is flash attempts to parse this config file under the current javascript working directory.

warning: incompatible embedded font 'Arial' specified for spark.components::Label (Label104).This component requires that the embedded font be declared with embedAsCff=true.
The application I am working on is a mix of Halo and Sparks components as I am migrating it to Flex 4. The text that is showing in the text fields is defaulting the systems serif font. There are a few problems with this warning.
1) I am not embedding any fonts in the application. I am not even assigning the Arial font to any of the components.
2) If I check the "Use Flash Text Engine in MX components", then all the text fields in the app throw the warning. Not just the sparks text fields.
Why does flex 4 think that I am using an embedded font with the sparks components? Is there any way to get around this warning and have the text fields use a non embedded font?
I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.
In Flash CS3 you could set a default color with an alpha setting. I have not found a way to do this in CS4. Is there a way? Its nice to have some default colors for shading that are easy to get to.

Yet the code that Flash gives you is a horrible messy bit of code. Why is 5 lines of code = to Flash's default HTML embedding code. Am i right in thinking theres no disadvantage to use the jQuery version?

That class will compile properly ONLY when it's located in my top-level directory (same dir as the .fla and Document.as files). If I move that class to a deeper directory, say com.place, and update the package statement and symbol link appropriately, the compiler will generate error "1136: Incorrect number of arguments. Expected 0."Create flash project and put a rectangle on the stage. Covert it to symbol and assign it to class TestPanel - or whatever you choose. Also configure the fla so that is uses a Document (Main) class.Create Main.as and TestPanel.as in the same folder. In the Main class, instantiate a instance of TestPanel and add it to the stage. View 1 RepliesWhen I test a flash file by hitting "ctrl+Enter" it creates a .swf in same directory as my .fla. does the resulting .swf file actually use the selected publish settings of my .fla file? Or when creating an .swf by "ctrl+enter" does it only use a "default" setting?

View 1 RepliesI have been useing fonts like A.C.M.E secret agent, Crashlanding, Feast of flesh, mouth breather and so on.When i export the project all the text becomes Times new roman on other computers but mine. Or let me re phrase that to make sure there is no confusion.When the project is viewed on my computer the font looks fine but when viewed on any other computer the font is Times new roman and the sizes are completely messed up.

View 6 RepliesWhen the files are downloaded to your computer there are several file folders included. Some are for pictures and there is HTML as well as the SWF files and the INDEX. In very short order I determined that you could simply replace there pictures with your pictures and even change the text on the buttons as well as the body of the site. It seemed very painless. We are now down to just one issue that I cannot figure out. On the main page there is a place on the page for the company name. I went into the HTML and changed that which worked fine.
My issue is that she already has a predefined font for her company. It is Trajan Pro. I cannot find anything in the HTML that has to do with the font.However there is a folder included in the download which is entitled "fonts". Within that folder is the various fonts used in the website. how I can change the font that is being used?
PS -- There is a folder full of Photoshop images which are basically the pages of the site. They have many layers. I tried to change the company name and font in Photoshop but it had no affect.
When I trace something in flashcs5, font size in the output panel is very big. Is there somewhere where I can set preferences for this panel? In other version of flash it was a lot smaller and readable.
