Professional :: _sans Font Missing?
Feb 4, 2010I am using Flash CS3 and the default font is _sans.This is missing from my fonts folder and I have tried to Google a download for this but have been unsuccessfull.

Sep 30, 2009Where's 'CS4' as a prefix to the post title? Anyway. I'm using _sans font for my flash work, because i want the font to display as the default _sans font on the device/platform. Why in CS4 (not checked earlier versions, but im sure CS3 didnt do this) is the (font) 'Style' drop down greyed out?

Nov 12, 2009When creating mobile apps I thought the best practise was to use _sans font, so that the device uses its' native device font when the app runs (for dynamic text, anyhow...)? So, I use _sans font for my app. But why in CS3 could I make _sans font bold, but in CS4 I can't? Am I being stupid here....is there something obvious I'm missing? The 'style' box is greyed out in CS4.

Create text box
Change font to _sans
Try and make font bold
I'm creating a Flash Lite app, so just to ensure it wasn't to do with that (or the device I'm creating it for) I created a normal Flash AS3.0 document and the bahaviour is exactly the same.I've emailled Adobe but no response.

Jan 13, 2010I have a (old) Flash Document ".fla" file created in Flash 8.It just has a static textbox with "Hello World"(many more text boxes) in it .(just for the question. )The font set is Arial 12pt Bold (thr. the Flash 8 IDE). When i open the same file in Flash CS4 IDE i get the Missing Font Dialog and then it asks to Map "Arial" to another font.When i map missing "Arial" to "Arial" with style "Regular"..all Arial text boxes change to "Regular",even the one with "Bold" face.I even installed Arial font again but found the same problem?

Mar 9, 2012I am attempting to write a font panel that shows a list of the users fonts. I am coming across a problem however where enumerateFonts seems to skip many font variants for several fonts. For example, I have 50 variants of Myriad Pro activated on my machine, but enumerateFonts only returns 12 of them. The missing ones seem to primarly be bold, itlaic and oblique variations.

Oct 28, 2009having a really frustrating problem. I have a file, originally penned by anoother developer in CS3 and resaved as CS4. It uses datagrids extensively. When clicking on a cell in a data grid it now fails to render the font (or a blinking carat for that matter). When you click off and finish the edit the text you enter is there, of course that isn't much use because you can't see what you're typing.I haven't changed how these grids work in anyway, and it was working in CS4 before *mysteriously* stopping.Have tried setting the font to one that is embedded in the setStyle of the custom renderer the cell is using but it makes no difference - everything renders fine when not editing but disappears when editing.

Sep 1, 2011I have a fairly convoluted FLA with oodles of MCs that in turn have tons of text fields. When I first fire up the IDE I get an error saying that there's a missing font and offering me my font list to substitute. The thing is that I don't know where this font came from and would love to just set it correctly once and for all, but I just don't know what text field its in, and am unable to find it, just doing a manual search.
Is there some mechanism by which I can locate where this is set and change it?
Flash 10 :: Cross-platform Random Font-glyphs Missing Inspite Of Embedding
Jul 29, 2010A project I am am working on has an extremely strange font problem. We have completely unpredictable glyphs missing on Mac compilations inspite of correct font embedding and correct font installations on the machines. Here is some of the context:
1. The Font is a custom truetype font which belongs to the client.
2. We are working on CS5 on the Mac, and CS4 on PC.
3. We are using classic dynamic texts, assigning striungs to the text attribut (not to htmlText). However the probel also occurrs with other classic text modes (single-line, multi line, kerening on or off, etc)
4. It is not predictable whether the glyphs of the font will show or not on the Mac CS5 compilations or not.
5. The issue does not seem to occurr with standard fonts like Courier or Helvetica.
6. Compiling on CS4 on PC works correctly.

Apr 16, 2011I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.

Oct 9, 2010When I tried to open it, it came up with "The FlashResources.dll is missing.einstall". I did reinstall.. 3 times. Still the same problem. I decided to take matters into my own hands and download the FlashResources.dll file from google and download it. I put it into me system32 file and ran ' regsvr32 flashresources.dll ' but then it said "DllRegisterServer entry point not found".

Sep 26, 2010Every time I install it it seems fine and works for a couple of days. Suddenly one day it won't open and all it says in the message is "flashresource file missing. please reinstall flash " So I say uh oh and reinstall. Works great so I think ok problem solved. Then a couple of days later it does it again. I have gone through this 5 times, each time reinstalling works for a few days or week then blammo suddenly "flashresourcefile is missing. please reinstall flash" I am completely stumped. After effects, premiere pro, soundbooth, all work great. Flash professiional is the only one doing this.

When I double click on the button (on the stage) which has a missing library reference, I'm able to edit it as usual nonetheless. Is this a database gone bad? Professional :: Missing Keyframes When Opening Fla-file?
Aug 31, 2011I am working freelance on an animated show for children, animating characters in flash, and I have a problem that is driving me crazy.
I will try to explain it so it won't be too confusing. This just happened on the file I am working on now, an animation of a character walking: The graphic symbol containing the legs had two keyframes in it (on frame 1 and 2) when I saved the file. When I reopened it, the legs had only keyframes on frame 1. When I check the swf I exported just before saving, the legs are fine.
Similar problems has happened many times now, sometimes keyframes are gone, other times they have turned blank, and on one occation graphic symbols had changed to empty movie clip symbols. The last swf exported has always been okay.

Professional :: How To Edit A Missing Flash Image
Sep 25, 2011I was given a flash project to edit. I have to edit one image in Photoshop, but when I right click on it and choose Edit with -Photoshop, an error message comes up saying "The file G:Web-02Sitefilm120902.gif does not exist, unable to launch external editor". I don't understand how Flash can list the image and display the image when I click on it, yet it doesn't exist. I tried to copy the image and paste it in photoshop but it only pastes a very low resolution version of it. What do I do?

Should be so simple. But the first frame of the "popped' animation, often the first 2, do not display. (when testing the compiled app, even the first 3-4 frames often do not display)Without the mouse event listener, using gotoAndPlay("popped"); to move the playback head to this animation from another spot in the timeline works just fine, so that's why I suspect the mouse event is involved in the bug.using

in the function after gotoAndPlay, does trace the correct first frame number of the animation, but this frame is not displayed, the animation just starts with the 2nd frame, or 3rd..or sometimes 4th.
