I was given a flash project to edit. I have to edit one image in Photoshop, but when I right click on it and choose Edit with -Photoshop, an error message comes up saying "The file G:Web-02Sitefilm120902.gif does not exist, unable to launch external editor". I don't understand how Flash can list the image and display the image when I click on it, yet it doesn't exist. I tried to copy the image and paste it in photoshop but it only pastes a very low resolution version of it. What do I do?
I'm doing an app for the next st valentin's day and I'm using the Facebook API. The idea is that the user will be able to take a picture with it's own webcam and then edit that photo for to send it to a friend from facebook. But I can't find a tutorial about to edit an image (a bitmap) in the application. Can you tell me how can I do it? I want to edit the bitmap on the same app, like add a frame around the picture and maybe add a message too.
I'm trying to change an image, but I noticed that the image is in a symbol/movie clip type.. I also found out that the image itself (jpg/gif/png format) is not in the library. So what to do? How to change it? Also, when importing image files to the library, how do I import it automatically to a certain folder in the library?
I've succesfully passed the Flash CS5 ACE recertification exam on 4th of May, but I've not received any certificate yet. PS: I'm not sure this is the right section for this topic, in case it's not i'm sorry.
Every time I install it it seems fine and works for a couple of days. Suddenly one day it won't open and all it says in the message is "flashresource file missing. please reinstall flash " So I say uh oh and reinstall. Works great so I think ok problem solved. Then a couple of days later it does it again. I have gone through this 5 times, each time reinstalling works for a few days or week then blammo suddenly "flashresourcefile is missing. please reinstall flash" I am completely stumped. After effects, premiere pro, soundbooth, all work great. Flash professiional is the only one doing this.

I used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?
I have just created a Flash movie with a .flv file in flash cs4 when playing the .swf file we can see the controls of the player, when I use the html code the player controls are missing.[code]...
This has me stumped and frustrated! I have some simple bitmaps that I've masked with graphics. When I use the playhead to watch the movie, it looks fine. When I preview or publish, the masked images are missing completely. What could I be doing wrong? A couple additional notes - the layer with the graphic (symbol) is rotated and the layer above it (mask) is also rotated at an angle. I don't see how that should matter at all...
i am new to Flash and am currently working with an XML based flash template. When i open the .fla file, none of the text or images show up. I understand this is b/c i have to edit the xml file in dreamweaver. However that is a very complicated way of doing it b/c then i have to keep going back and forth between several programs and saving, and updating, and never getting of "live view" of the chages i am making. My question is: Is there really no way for me to edit the whole xml flash template in Flash CS5? Meaning is there some sort of way to import or manipulate the files so that i can edit the text and images directly in flash pro cs5 and not having to keep going into dreamweaver?
I need to create or edit which ever is easier the preloader for a flash banner which someone else created. I have searched for days (well hours) for an answer to my requirement on line and have gotten exactly nowhere. I mean if I just wanted a black box with a 100% loading rectangle I'd be sorted by now but that's NOT what I need so I'm pining my hopes on the expertise within this forum.
What I need is a preloader with a single static graphic and 100% counter which stops running and displays a black rectangle before the main fla file kicks in. I have tried every which way to achieve this and the closest I got was a single static graphic with a static loading sign which was viewable at every transition in my main fla file as the graphics were changing?
I am about to buy a website flash template. Before I buy the template I want to make sure, that I am good enough to edit to my needs. In Flash CS4, I have a graphic of a long filmstrip with 24 pix in it. I need to edit the symbol in photoshop (to put all new pix in), and then replace the current filmstrip with the new filmstrip. How? This is CS4, not CS5.

I have created a line on the stage with the Line tool, and then want to edit the Stroke and Style in the Properties panel. However, after creating the line these options are greyed out and not available to me. Even if I then select the Line with the Selection tool, I cannot edit the Stroke or the Style.
The Section3.fla file contains the text I need to edit. I notice that the text is visible inside the library:
"/Sprites/sprite 11" file and "/Text/text" 10 file
But when I try to edit the text 10 file I get the message: "This symbol is imported from a Shared Library. If you edit this symbol, it will no longer be imported. Do you want to continue?".
If I click Yes and edit the text and replace the Section3.swf with the new one, the website still shows the old text.

I have a pretty long timeline animation to be edited; in CS4 editing the file was no problem, you could scroll through the frames without problems, using CS5 and trying to do the same the app freezes for several seconds and then reacts and performs the last click you did - honestly I can definitely no edit the animation with CS5.Is there any sort of option which may cause this strange/slow behavior?
So I have a music clip that is looping in my timeline. The frames for this clip extends to frame 2966. However, when I want to fade out the clip by going to the properties of the music clip and selecting custom for the effect, clicking on edit sound envelope it only lets me scroll to frame 2465 and no further....So what the heck am I doing wrong or is this a bug in flash?
I'm edit a flash file that uses about 11 different fonts. When I toss it into the editor and publish it some characters are missing from the product, such as W's and M's. I've installed the fonts that were included with the flash file into windows7.
I am in the middle of creating a website using Flash CS5. I opened up my .Fla file one day to continue my work but I am no unable to access buttons and movie clips. When creating movie clips or buttons I am unable to get inside them, when I hover my mouse over them there is a white hand icon which never used to be there it was always just a normal mouse icon. I double click to enter inside the buttons/movie clips but nothing happens. This happens to existing movie clips and buttons on the page and even when I create new ones. I really don't wanna have to start this website again.
When I tried to open it, it came up with "The FlashResources.dll is missing.einstall". I did reinstall.. 3 times. Still the same problem. I decided to take matters into my own hands and download the FlashResources.dll file from google and download it. I put it into me system32 file and ran ' regsvr32 flashresources.dll ' but then it said "DllRegisterServer entry point not found".
i'm having a little problem with my site because my font don't appear online... i have one font and when i see my page in another computer, i see times new roman...i know that if i use flash, i don't need to worry with that... so why this is happenning??i made another site and it was everything ok with the fonts that i used...
I am using Flash CS3 and the default font is _sans.This is missing from my fonts folder and I have tried to Google a download for this but have been unsuccessfull.
I'm starting using the CS4 version of flash, and in my codes, every word is "missing" the last letter. It's not really missing, we just can't see it, or see only half of it. Did it ever happen to you? If so, how can I fix this?
I recently updated text in a page. Now, when I test the movie, random characters within the modified text are missing. Is this a bug or am I overlooking something? I am using Adobe Flash CS3 on Windows XP.
I made six buttons. All of them appeared in the library before, but now only five of them do. When I double click on the button (on the stage) which has a missing library reference, I'm able to edit it as usual nonetheless. Is this a database gone bad? If so, how can I rebuild the database index?
