So I have a music clip that is looping in my timeline. The frames for this clip extends to frame 2966. However, when I want to fade out the clip by going to the properties of the music clip and selecting custom for the effect, clicking on edit sound envelope it only lets me scroll to frame 2465 and no further....So what the heck am I doing wrong or is this a bug in flash?
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to set a custom envelope for a sound in Flash CS5. I can bring up the envelope editor fine. But, I find that all the control points are after the end of the sound itself. If I click on the waveform to create a new control point, the point momentarily appears where I click it, then automatically jumps to the end of the waveform. View 1 RepliesI'm quite new to Flash and ActionScript. Anyway, I wrote my own XML Slideshow, that's working great. The problem I have is that I can't add an 'envelope' effect to the images that are loaded as sprites. I know I can use 'envelope tool' if I break the image apart (ctrl+b) but I need to do it dynamically via AS. Is there any way to do it. Rotating the X/Y/Z axis doesn't do what I need.
View 2 Repliesi am new to Flash and am currently working with an XML based flash template. When i open the .fla file, none of the text or images show up. I understand this is b/c i have to edit the xml file in dreamweaver. However that is a very complicated way of doing it b/c then i have to keep going back and forth between several programs and saving, and updating, and never getting of "live view" of the chages i am making. My question is: Is there really no way for me to edit the whole xml flash template in Flash CS5? Meaning is there some sort of way to import or manipulate the files so that i can edit the text and images directly in flash pro cs5 and not having to keep going into dreamweaver?

The idea is that the user will be able to take a picture with it's own webcam and then edit that photo for to send it to a friend from facebook. But I can't find a tutorial about to edit an image (a bitmap) in the application. Can you tell me how can I do it? I want to edit the bitmap on the same app, like add a frame around the picture and maybe add a message too.

I have searched for days (well hours) for an answer to my requirement on line and have gotten exactly nowhere. I mean if I just wanted a black box with a 100% loading rectangle I'd be sorted by now but that's NOT what I need so I'm pining my hopes on the expertise within this forum.
What I need is a preloader with a single static graphic and 100% counter which stops running and displays a black rectangle before the main fla file kicks in. I have tried every which way to achieve this and the closest I got was a single static graphic with a static loading sign which was viewable at every transition in my main fla file as the graphics were changing?

I have to edit one image in Photoshop, but when I right click on it and choose Edit with -Photoshop, an error message comes up saying "The file G:Web-02Sitefilm120902.gif does not exist, unable to launch external editor". I don't understand how Flash can list the image and display the image when I click on it, yet it doesn't exist. I tried to copy the image and paste it in photoshop but it only pastes a very low resolution version of it. What do I do?
View 4 RepliesA wav or mp3 file will be taped or various. Is there any script to edit these files in batch ie: to Trim the beginnings ie: no sound parts. Or would I have to use a sound editor. As I say I don't want to do it manually. This sounds like a stupid use but it's important as I have children taping themselves and can't use a 3 party product to edit. Perhaps AIR has something in an API.

However, after creating the line these options are greyed out and not available to me. Even if I then select the Line with the Selection tool, I cannot edit the Stroke or the Style.
View 6 Repliesi'm trying to edit the text of a Flash project/website. The flash project structure is as follows:
- Main.fla
-- Section1.fla
-- Section2.fla
-- Section3.fla
-- Section4.fla
The Section3.fla file contains the text I need to edit. I notice that the text is visible inside the library:
"/Sprites/sprite 11" file
and
"/Text/text" 10 file
But when I try to edit the text 10 file I get the message: "This symbol is imported from a Shared Library. If you edit this symbol, it will no longer be imported. Do you want to continue?".
If I click Yes and edit the text and replace the Section3.swf with the new one, the website still shows the old text.

View 4 RepliesI have a pretty long timeline animation to be edited; in CS4 editing the file was no problem, you could scroll through the frames without problems, using CS5 and trying to do the same the app freezes for several seconds and then reacts and performs the last click you did - honestly I can definitely no edit the animation with CS5.Is there any sort of option which may cause this strange/slow behavior?

View 4 RepliesI am in the middle of creating a website using Flash CS5. I opened up my .Fla file one day to continue my work but I am no unable to access buttons and movie clips. When creating movie clips or buttons I am unable to get inside them, when I hover my mouse over them there is a white hand icon which never used to be there it was always just a normal mouse icon. I double click to enter inside the buttons/movie clips but nothing happens. This happens to existing movie clips and buttons on the page and even when I create new ones. I really don't wanna have to start this website again.

View 13 RepliesI have a 15 frame composition, a new image on every frame. Each image is the same H x W size as the stage. I can click "Edit multiple frames", and I get the selector/slider thing above my timeline which sets which frames are to be included in the editing operation. I widen it to encompass all frames and then select all frames. But, when I attempt to center up all frames on my stage (Modify-->Align to stage) or set the x y to "0", "0", only one frame cooperates- the one on which the timeline marker is on. The other ones don't comply, even though they are all selected.

I finally tracked it down to the @#$% metadata. Every time you save an FLA, it appends a useles chunk of metadata to it, that looks something like this:

On frequently-updated files, this junk can easily add dozens or hundreds of K to the size of an FLA. So my question is this: Is it possible to edit an FLA's metadata?
