I can't seem to get the Flash player controls to autohide.If you mouse out of the video very slowly the flash player controls that are over the video will autohide. But if you mouse out quickly the controls stay there.
View 4 Replieshide the video content of the YouTube player (only statusbar (where is play button etc.) is visible) ? Or maybe do you know other (flash) players that have the ability to stream the YouTube movies ?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create an overlay containing a flash player that is shown when a user clicks on a link. The div containing the player starts with display:none in CSS. Upon clicking, the div will be shown, and JS will use ExternalInterface to configure and start the player. The JS configures the player when it catches a "flash ready" event, which is fired by Flash on ADDED_TO_STAGE.All this works, except that the ExternalInterface callbacks are never created. The JS and AS3 work fine if the player is shown upon page load, or is hidden with visibility:hidden instead of display:none. I am aware that Flash will not be initialized with display:none, and this works as expected: when the Flash is unhidden, it fires its events and correctly initializes everything else (eg. GUI, other internal stuff). The only thing that doesn't happen as expected is that my ExternalInterface callbacks are not added.
ExternalInterface.available is true. It's not a timing problem, because even after several minutes the callbacks are still not present. The strangest bit is that the flash is able to call JS, fires JS events fine, and the code to fire the events comes after the code to add the callbacks. There are no errors thrown by any of the AS3 code. I'm seeing this problem in both Chrome and Firefox.
I have built an FLV video player and used Sorenson to compress a bunch of movies in hi, med, and lo quality. Everything works when I click to load these different video qualities but all the videos auto stretch to the MC width and height.
View 9 Repliesi made a player based on the 'Video Basics' series and would like to disable the auto play. I've only found posts dealing with stopping auto play in the XML version and I can't figure it out.
I assume that I must modify the early part of the script?
Code: Select allvar nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.setBufferTime(10);

How do you capture the event on the Video Control Skin when the Full Screen button is clicked.
View 3 RepliesAny way of building in a fullscreen button right into the skin of a video player using actionscript 2? Or perhaps have access to a source file? I've seen the skins with fullscreen with AS3 with CS3, but I need tut on skins with fullscreen using AS2.

i am tryin to make a video player function that goes fullscreen.... and i am using the following code...

if (Stage["displayState"] == "normal")

It's with a Flash overlay that has been custom made to overlap a .flv video running in Flowplayer (open source video player at flowplayer.org) The Flash overlay is mostly transparent and just includes a few buttons over top the video to allow visitors to share, email and visit a related website. Take a look here for example:[URL]
The video and Flash buttons work fine when videos are played within Flowplayer at normal size in the browser, but when making it fullscreen using Flowplayer, the Flash overlay plugin does not resize to fullscreen with it. Then, when made regular size again it gets distorted, as you can see from the example.
I know it might involve creating a custom onResize() function, but I haven't figured this out yet with Flowplayer. There are vague instructions & snippets of code here under "Layout management" section on flowplayer . org/documentation/developer/writing-flash-plugins.html
Code:
override public function onResize():void {
/*
set _childButton width according to my new width,

Interesting, but doesn't tell me much of what to do. I have a feeling it might involve making a new .as class in Flash and associating it to the custom buttons overlay .swf. On the right track?
get the overlay to resize using onResize and what code should be used would be very helpful. Others may be also trying to make custom overlay plugins too, and the fullscreen issue would be the next step to know after that and make it look more complete.
I wanted to make a video player that has normal mode and fullscreen mode. The part I am having trouble understanding is how to handle the video once it gets set to fullscreen. Do I just use the current video or do I get a high quality version of the video to show during fullscreen mode? What would be best practice for this situation?
View 1 RepliesI like to make a fullscreen desktop application, with an FLV, using the FLV Playback component. However, Id like there to be a Fullscreen button on the playback component, which will allow the user to toggle the video fullscreen.I cant, for the life of me, figure out how to do this with various settingsit should be easy! This is what I have--is there a better way to do things (without a custom movie player)? My inital settings are as follows:
Code:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
theMovie.fullScreenTakeOver = false;
Then I have a function which should work--but my button won't appear in fullscreen--Can I apply this function to the built-in fullscreen button?:
Code:
function handleClick(event:MouseEvent):void
{
if ( !theMovie.fullScreenTakeOver )[code]....

View 9 RepliesI have a video player that has a clip on it, called sliderTarget. on ROLL_OVER, a thumbnailsSlider comes down from the top, showing thumbnails of other available videos to play...
Problem is, I'm having trouble with the layers, so that when I roll over the thumbnailsSlider, it doesn't register, since I'm really still on the sliderTarget. If I swap depths, then the thumbnailsSlider slides away since I've officially rolled out.[code]...
I am trying out the inactivity timer technique and I am still trying to get it to work. This what I have so far [URL]As you can see I have it so when the mouse isnt moving the control bar goes down and vice versa. But when I move the mouse the control bar replays the up motion.
View 8 RepliesI have a flash project with an flvplayback component using a flash provided shin and I have it set to auto hide but It always starts the video with the control on and I don't want them to show unless the user hovers over the video.
View 1 RepliesI Am trying to create a navigation system where the navigation(nav_mc) will slide into screen anytime the mouse is over the plash player and then slide out when the mouse is off the flash player.
I have achieved this quite easily using an invisible button(stage_btn) over the entire flash, with event handlers to initiate tweenlite tweens of the navigation in and out of screen on MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT
Now i have buttons in nav_mc, that dont receive focus if nav_mc is below the main stage_btn and if i bring stage_btn above the nav_mc it means that when i rollover nav_mc, then stage_mc looses focus and slides out with all my navigation buttons...
Any ideas on the best way to handle this situation - or go about doing the the entire ting in a different way?

I am trying to get the background and main part of my website to scale up to the full size of the web browser when it is resized. i have found an example, and have been searching for hours trying to find a solution.when you resize the browser it fits, i would like to know how i could achieve this.
View 2 RepliesI have been creating an application for a local museum over the past few weeks. The application is a typical interactive kiosk set up - a touch screen and a larger screen.I have two Flash projectors, one on each screen, communicating through LocalConnection class.My problem is.. I would like both projectors to open in Fullscreen mode utomatically?? Also, upon opening a projector, is there code which will position it in a certain area on the screen??
View 2 RepliesI was wondering if anyone knew how to hide the skin in the flvplayback component on ROLL_OUT. SkinAutoHide seems to work whenever it feels like it and sometimes the button controls just stay over the video. This happens in Safari and IE I believe. I am used Actionscipt 3.0OR does anyone know how to get to the display list of the component, where all the names to all the buttons (and skin) is housed, using the instance names from the component fla file does not work. I looked at the documentation and the names of all the button sprites are there, but i need the name of the background that the buttons sit on top of.

View 1 RepliesI have an FLVPlayback component instance on my stage, into which I load videos based on button presses. When I create a .swf of my project though, if I use
fscommand("fullscreen", "true");
fscommand("allowscale", "false");
I get unexpected behavior. What should happen is the file loads, everything is centered, and the area around the project is whatever the background color is.This sort of works .. until the first FLV is played. The FLV gets scaled to 100% (fullscreen)and if I hit "esc" I go back to the "normal" sized player, but if I then maximize the window (almost the same as fullscreen), the entire flash player now decides to scale, not just the FLV playback component
I'd like to be able to have my windows projector file to take up the entire screen when it's loaded (without being scaled), but this doesn't seem possible. Any ideas what's going on? Regarding the FLVPlayback component, I've tried everything to make it fit and not scale ....set height, width, set scale to "noScale", set registrationHeight, registrationWidth, etc. Nothing works.
I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having.
I currently have an AIR Application that runs fullscreen.
At some point in the application, I am trying to get a video to play fullscreen as well.

I am building a flash video player with a custom UI, and admittedly I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing. I tried altering a skin, but that always comes out wonky due to whatever coding they use. So I'm altering single video components and putting them in the mc what I want them. It looks great, but the problem is that when video goes to full screen, all of the controls dissappear and I can't figure out how to make them show up. How do I get a movie clip to display on top of the video when it goes to full screen in flash AS3?
View 1 RepliesI'm using this code to play flv [code]...
But I want to hide all icons (Play, Stop, timeline and scroll bar), how can I do that?
I have an EXE flash project that has a menu with several videos in a little player. The player has a fullscreen button that makes the video go fullscreen. When the video is over, the widescreen video is frozen on the last frame and stays there. I need the player to automatically leave widescreen mode at the end of the video and go back to the regular menu player.
I'm using AS3 to call up the videos from the menu clicks, so I'm not scared to get into code using actionscript. I just don't know what to do.
Im looking for a quick solution (if its out there) using the autohide feature using the FLV Playback Component.
Current situation: Using ActionScript 2. The FLV component fills the stage. Autohide is set to true.
It looks to me that since the video fills the stage, the skin will not hide. What I would like to do is have the skin fade out if the mouse doesnt move for a certain period of time.
