Most JavaScript code is also syntactically valid ActionScript 3.0 code. However, there are some exceptions which leads me to my question:
Which constructs/features in JavaScript are syntactically invalid in ActionScript 3.0? Please provide concrete examples of JavaScript code (basic JavaScript code without DOM API usage) that is NOT valid ActionScript 3.0 code.
I have a tree being populated by an array collection. I don't have control of the data in the array collection and even when a node has no children it still has a "children" property that is causing my tree to treat every node as branch. I can do a simple check on the length of the array in the children property. If this is 0 I need the tree to display the node as a leaf, no disclosure icon. Any thoughts on how I can achieve this? It would be nice if there were a branchFunction like the iconFunction and labelFunction.
I have done a very basic flash navigation using on rollover within movieclips that make them fade in or out when you roll over. Here: http:[url].......My client has asked that when you roll over another button the current page button fades out. This should be straight forward but I have forgotten how to send an instruction from one MC to another. This is the code I have applied to an invisible button within the mc
Code: Select allon (rollOver)[code]........
So instead I need all other buttons on (rollOver) { gotoAndPlay("over"); to have another line in the same mc to make home button mc gotoAndPlay("out") then reverse on rollout.I have a different nav bar for each page.
I was wondering if anyone had access to source code that would allow me to draw lines between objects. I have examples of the standard one line between 2 objects.
What I'm looking for is an example of how to draw a branching line. I.e. Starts as a line coming from an object and then branches out to other objects. I don't want to draw multiple lines from the same object because I need the objects to be related and the lines to have a settable property.
The added issue is that I want the number of branches available to be settable by the user. But if I can find code that dooes the branching lines, it probably wouldnt be too hard to tweek.
I have a file that I've been working on, and i want to take what I have and modify it heavily, but I want to keep the original; if there was a 'duplicate' project command I would do that, but I don't see one, and wondered if there might be a way to keep it all in the same project for tidiness purposes. I'd just copy paste the directory myself but just want to make sure I'm not missing some functionality.
xml stuff in action script is so... non-intuitive.. cubersome I can compare it to the xml libs that I used in playground sdk, popcap and other .. tinyxml.. ....
I' m trying to make that simpliest thing for about 2-3 hours.. + reading books.. and still can't do it..
what I want to do is: <xml> <Weapons> <Weapon id="canon" rechargeTime="200" impulse="30">
[Code].....
how do I read the all "Weapon" objects listed inside Weapons.. NOTE: I dont want to use the method.. that returns "Weapon" from all over the xml... cause I probably want to list weapons in other sections for other purposes
I think in my last post I was trying something that wasn't possible, or correct There are 9 Children. The alpha of evt.target changes on mouse click, and a square is added around the evt.target which overlaps the two neigbouring Children.
The number of Children is then 10, and I am trying to detect whether the next evt.target is overlapped by the square before passing an instruction to change/not change its alpha.
I'm having a problem with Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5.4 (Developer) default install ldd` showed me some missing libs, but I was able to overcome that server` runs fine, but I can't run `fmsadmin I'm using Debian 5.0.6 on VPS Here is some debug info I was able to get:
srv:/opt/adobe/fms# gdb fmsadmin GNU gdb 6.8-debian Copyright (C) 2008 Free Software Foundation, Inc. License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later [URL].. I just can't find the script required to automatically load another .swf when the (already) loaded movie reaches the end of the timeline.Context: 1st swf has been inserted into an html doc with a div tag. I want to add the script to the timeline of this movie.
I'm using the iconField property of the Flex Tree to dynamically set the icon that a node should use. This works fine for leaf nodes but for branch nodes it doesn't seem to respect my iconField and instead just shows the default folder node.
I've created an mxml page that displays a tree control, however the data is only being displayed as branches. Even items that are leaves are being displayed as branches. <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; public function init():void { var item:Object; var array:Array = new Array(); [Code] .....
I've got a tree component which works great, but I'm trying to add an item at a particular location (immediately after the item they select) into the tree. The problem is that I'm trying to add an item within a branch. I'm using myTree.getDisplayIndex(myNode) to get the position within the tree, but it gives the location relative to the entire list, but I need to get the position relative to the parent (which is what myNode.parentNode.addTreeNodeAt is trying to write to)...
I have added an event handler for itemOpening event for the tree component inside the handler basically ido myTree.selectedItem = event.item ; and then add the new data inside myTree.selectedItem.children.push(newData); But It do not show simultaneously instead I have to close , open the branch again to see the new data. I think I need to refresh something after adding new data but dont know what? below is the code but without the declaration , script tag etc
I have a class Dialogs it has a method Open. Now I have an Instruction subclass of Dialogs. I want it to do something special when the method Open is called. Is there a way to "append" the open method in the Instruction sublass?
This event should show me the file.swf file, instantly when i get to that frame. But it doesnt show anything and it does if i put the code on a button on(release). Why ? Is it the "gotoandstop()" instruction?
I have a very complex Flash application (think Photoshop in Flash).
There is a lot of image manipulation, and all is working well with the exception of one bug.
The application has an undo/redo feature that sometimes throws an error. There is way too much code to paste here, but the issue revolves around this line of [code]...
I have a UI component calendar that populates a text box that I validate before I let the form send. All works fine in this department until you put the date in the text box manually, then the form does not think there is a valid date. This is because I validate the two dates not by whats in the textbox, but by what date the person chose in the calendar UI component.Confusing I know. So, how can I take a date someone puts is a listbox and formulate it so it looks like this
There date = 2/31/2003 Formulates to inputday = 1 inputmonth = 31 inputYear = 2003
I think if I have it in this form I can validate the date against the current date.Or, where is a good web site with form/date validation?
This on release code has two getURLs and Google Analytics seem isn't tracking the "clicked" ads. I'm wondering if more than one getURL in an event function a valid code or it doesn't work that way? What's alternative solution if this code is not valid?:
check if a filepath supplied to a FLVPlayer component is valid or not - as in the player will fail, but I don't know how to ACT on it. I tried various try-catch and I tried listening for stuff - nothing seems to work. This is AS2 I'm concerned with.
when I go to publish my file or even try to click on publish settings ...I get an error stating 'No valid HTML Templates are available to complete this operation'e figure out where I need to place some files to fix this? I might have deleted some important files in the system.
