I am using the script below to move from a flash menu to other URLs. It works fine except we need to play the sound completely before sending the browser to the new URL. We are using external sound files and AS3.

I'm almost done building a full flash site where it navigates by position of timeline.I just need a simple on/off button for a soundloop to loop and play automatically. the on/off button just simply turns it off (toggle is optional). on it doesn't have to resume, just start the pool again.

i am using soundmanager to order sounds. my site preview, in home page, square shapes comes into stage and you can drag drop them, all shapes binded its own sound. if they are colliding binded song will play.
the problem is i have 3 second timer to control sounds. every timeout i have to stop sound and play again for synchronous issue, that is my solution for that part. but sometimes before loop, there is an annoying little silence.

I created a movie clip that I am using as a button. I created the states in the clip (up, down, over) and the graphics work, but the sound is driving me crazy. I have a rollover loop that plays and a special click sound on the down/press. On the mouseclick, I want the rollover loop to stop and the down/click sound to play. Also, a getURL is happening on the release. Basically, everything works, except you can't hear the down/click sound. All sound just stops on the click.THis is AS2. Here's my code on the first frame. In the clip/button itself, I have the states labeled, the sounds placed using the properties and a stop on each keyframe of each state.:

Ive racked my brain on this one and I just cant seem to see what im doing wrong. I have 2 text boxes that need to be evaluated against each other. Both are input boxes that capture and store data into variables. I just want to compare those values and run the proper code. t works fine for the first round. If I enter new values, the variables are updated as well. But the new values are not applied to the condition the second time around.

[code]In my real application, I've actually created a named array with element1 as key...so that I can address it directly by it's name.The problem is that - in my real application - the array2 element doesn't share a name in common with element1 (so I could address it by its name..as just told you,using named array) but with element5.

i have a swf file of width 1000 and height 700. i want to show the swf file in full screen of the browser it self (not like videos plying full screen). i tried like the following
1) get user screen width and height using java script using the functions available (screen.availHeight and screen.availWidth) the screen size is available by using the functions but not applying to the flash object
2) tried giving 100% for both height and width in object code that also not working

I have an animation that plays from the beguining to the end. I would like to add a conditional statement that IF the animation is Playing and the ANIMATION BUTTON is clicked, it stops and goes back to frame one. ELSE (if the animation is on frame one (not playing) it starts playing to the end.
My script goes like this -

I have a flash form with input text fields. I am sending the data to a 3rd party server. I can send the information via getURL but I want to send the data without opening a browser window so I am utilizing sendAndLoad. It works great locally but not through a browser (tested in IE and Firefox). I have verified that all the variables and urls are in the correct case, I have tried both Post and Get, I have tried network and local..

I'm building an AIR application. Basically, what I'm looking to do is using navigateToUrl() to open a browser window, assign it a "name" and then, send variables to that newly opened window using the POST method.
EDIT : I need the window to be visible, this is why I absolutely need to use the navigateToUrl() function
I already know that I CAN'T DO something like this, that the AIR application will send the variables using the GET method...

It's possible to play a sound file through AS, either by loading it from a folder or import it to flash. It's also possible to play a dynamic tone with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat.
But... is it possible to play a sound file with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat in some way? I want to play a sound file without having to deal with any files except the .swf!

I have a ColdFusion function which sends analytics called from a Flex sendPageAnalytics() function to a SQL database when the user navigates - this works perfectly.What I am trying to do is have the Flex application send a bunch of analytics when the user closes their browser, therefore providing information about the last navigation.
I have used an ExternalInterface callback and listener for window.onbeforeunload and a trace statement tells me that this is working fine.My problem is that when all bundled together, I get as far as tracing out that the sendPageAnalytics() function has been called, but I do not get a sendPageAnalyticsFaultHandler() trace or a sendPageAnalyticsResultHandler() trace, which I do on every other sendPageAnalytics() call.

So i've made my .swf files. The only thing is they all play at full screen when i play them using my web browser. I need them to play at 548 x 408. when i open the .fla and go to properties it says the size IS at 548 x 410 but it can't be if its playing full screen.

I am using Flex 3 (ActionScript 3.0). I use the HTTP progressive download to play sound files. I want to secure the sound files, by only serving them when the request comes from my flex app. I chose the simplest solution of adding a HTTP header to each request send from the app. But flash.media.Sound object ignores the headers set in flash.net.URLRequest. Here's an example,

sndFile.requestHeaders = new Array(new URLRequestHeader("req-orgin", "myflexapp"));
Sound snd = new Sound(sndFile);
snd.play();
The value of req-origin comes as null in load_sound.php. When i inspect the request using Firebug, the request headers to [URL] doesn't contain the header.

I'm trying to add sound to some buttons. It's just a little metallic 'klink' sound that plays on rollover. I only want the sound to play on the 'Over' state. So I've set up a layer (just for sound) for the button and I add my sound in the 2nd frame (the Over state). Everything is cool. All is good. And the sound plays on rollover. But the sound also plays when I click the button (i.e. it also plays on the "Down" state). Why? The Down state keyframe is completely empty. What's going on here? I've only put the sound in the "Over" keyframe, why does it also play in the "Down" frame (or when I click)?
