ActionScript 3.0 :: BitmapData.draw() And Displayobject With 3D Transformations?

Dec 17, 2009

I have a sprite with some objects in it which are transformed in 3D (positioned and rotated). The objects form a coneshape in such a way that the objects that make up the back are hidden.When I use that sprite as a source for the bitmapData.draw() it is drawn from another viewpoint so it seems. In my case the copy is viewed slightly from the bottom and right.

Bottomline:Does anyone know of a way to duplicate the image of a sprite which contains 3D manipulated graphics?

Actionscript 3 :: Get BitmapData From A DisplayObject Included Transparent Area, And Effect Area

I have this function:

public static function cloneDpObj(target:DisplayObject):Bitmap

to clone target displayObject (MovieClip or Sprite) and return Bitmap Object.

It can get bitmap from the target object, but it seem don't get all the area of the image.

By give the width and height of target object, but the target object in design was applied by Glow Effect, so my question can we get the all view of bitmapdata from a displayobject?

Flash :: Check If DisplayObject A Is A Descendant Of DisplayObject B?

Oct 26, 2010

I would like to be able to quickly check if a given DisplayObject is a descendant (not in the inheritance sense - ie. child, grandchild, great-grandchild, great-great-grandchild, etc.) of another DisplayObject. There doesn't seem to be a native way to do this and I can only think of two ways to achieve it: Create the mother of all nested loops. Seems a bit, I dunno, wrong? Dispatch a bubbling event at the 'child' and check if the potential 'parent' receives it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData At Flash.display::BitmapData()

btw, first I used assigned thumbContainer as the mc argument (outside the loadThumbs() function) and it worked but not exactly what I wanted... because I thought it is supposed to update when the movieclip is animated but it actually didn't... when I use a scroller, only the thumbs that are first loaded to the stage get the reflection..

Actionscript 3 :: Quickly Rotate The Pixels That Make Up BitmapData Without Using BitmapData.draw()?

Dec 29, 2011

I've been using BitmapData.copyPixels() to draw graphics onto a canvas (Bitmap).I need to rotate the resulting graphics without the use of draw() because it's vastly slower.How can I rotate the target graphic? I'm assuming that there might be a formula or library that I can use which will first reorganize the pixels that make up a graphic based on an origin (point) and radians.I'm pretty certain that I'm not capable of creating such logic, so if there are any known libraries that do this, that would be awesome.I'd like to achieve something similar to XNA's SpriteBatch.Draw() method, which accepts rotation as its 5th argument.

I have been trying to create a visual noise pattern using bitmapData.noise, and with help from Rothrock and Kglad have created a working version.I checked with a colleague who is expert on the use of these visual patterns, and he suggested that the change speed is too fast: that the dots (pixels) need to change at just under 400 dots per second for an 800 x 600 stage.With beginner skills in AS3, I am unsure if there is any way to change the script to slow the rate of dot change in the bitmapData.noise function?

How do I get around this error? The main objective is to print the stage using PrintJob(). I am using Flash Professional CS5.5 and publishing to Flash 10.0/10.1. Actionscript 3 :: Graphic Object BitMapData Type The Same As BitmapData Type?

Dec 29, 2009

The title might be a little misleading. Look at my code and I will explain

public static function loadTile(tileDir:String = "empty"):void
{
if(tileDir != "empty")
{
tPoint = new Point(0,0);
tRect = new Rectangle(0,0,30,30);

[Code]...

I am trying to do tiling with sprites. I want my tiles to be interactive, so that is why I am using the sprite object instead of using regular bitMaps to represent my tiles. You might be wondering why I wouldnt just use graphics.beginBitmapFill(tImage); and graphics.drawRect(0, 0,tWidth ,tHeight ); to pick out the tiles I want to use. Well reason being is because it turns out that drawRect() first and second parameters actually alter the location of where the actual sprite sits at.

So if I set the x and y properties of the sprite to x = 20, and y = 20. then I set my drawRect(20,20). it actually adds an extra 20 pixels to my x and y coords of my sprite. And I know the reason why, I just need to know a better way.

ActionScript 3.0 :: A DisplayObject Becomes NaN?

Apr 8, 2010

I've come across a pretty bizarre bug in my code when working with level generation in a side-scrolling platformer I'm trying to make... I've been desperately trying to debug it for the past 2 days! I have a movieclip (exported for AS) called Section1, that contains the first section for a level. It's basically a huge movieclip containing other movieclips; this Section1 movieclip contains the graphics for the level, as well as collision detection (the graphics are .pngs converted into movieclips, the collision detection is transparent rectangles converted to movieclips). FYI, it's a BIG movieclip... roughly 3400 pixels wide.

So, since it is the 1st section of a level, I have it spawn at the beginning of the game. However, I need to access all the platforms, walls, and graphics inside section1 from inside AS. So, here's the code I am using to do this:

public var s1:Section1;
public var platforms:Array, walls:Array, levelGraphics:Array;
...
// in Main's constructor now:
s1 = new Section1(2236, 8);

[code]....

Initially, it works... I've traced the data in the arrays in my update method (run every frame), and I can see that the arrays contain displayobjects... for a split second, that is. Seemingly out of nowhere, the values for all the elements in the arrays become NaN! I think to myself... of course these DisplayObjects are "not a number"... they're displayobjects! Of course, this renders my arrays useless, since I can no longer access the data I need to do collision detections!
