ActionScript 3.0 :: Display Object Exclude From Event Flow?

I m building a little application, im design the graphic in Flash and im using Flash Builder for the Programming Side. I have 5 MovieClip inside a Sprite (the container), and i want to listen for MOUSE.CLICK. I add the event listener to the Sprite, instead of one for MovieClip, and its working good like this.
What if inside the Sprite (the container) i have also a TextField and exclude it from the event flow?

[code]I added MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER event listener to the 'back' sprite, but it doesn't get called, because the 'text' element is in front of it.I want to keep the event firing only when mouse is over the 'back', so I can't add eventlistener to the 'btn'.I could put some transparenet duplicate of 'back' in front of the 'text' and add listener there, but I believe there should be a more elegant solution.Maybe there is some way to exclude an element from the whole capture/bubble event procedure?

I'm stepping through my code to figure out why a certain function takes more time to run the first time it gets called than on successive calls. The code flow for each function call is the same up to when a dispatchEvent gets called. I'm pretty sure it's different afterwards, as that call takes a lot more time the first time around. Unfortunately, I have no idea which other parts of the code chew on this specific event and thus cannot step through the handling of such event.
The question: is there a way to either figure out who handles such events or magically step through the handling code without explicitly setting breakpoints there?

There's a lot of talk of how the new Event Flow makes for easier communication between classes.This sounds swell,but nowhere is it properly explained. Every example I find concerns dispatching events within the same class or looped through a customEvent, but I need a way to tap into this Event Flow for backward communication.I have a mainGUI document class that distributes my application subclasses.How do I set up a listener within mainGUI that gathers certain events from any of its children or grand-children? And how can I use this line to post object properties?

My goal is to shoot a bullet everytime I click on ship. What happens, in fact, is that If I click on it once, the bullet is shot, but if I click on it twice before the first bullet is off the screen, the first bullet literally stops(it does not disappear, only stops) and the second bullet is shot.

What is the proper OOP method of communicating between classes that are not on the display list?
For example: The Document class instantiates a new class just for loading in different XML files. This XmlLoading class should let the document class know when the xml has been loaded and parsed so that the interface can be built out.
From my understanding, events can only be listened to and dispatched through the display list, but since there is nothing visual with this xml loader, it doesn't make sense to me to make this class extend a sprite and add it as a child of the document class.

Is there a way to make event flow occur synchronously?
Basically this is my scenario. I have a single method call that gets triggered by a server request. I want to be able to notifiy subscribers that the method has/is executing so that they may return a result. By modifying an attribute of the actual event object, the method can return that result to the server dynamically. Eg:

This code works around 70% of the time, but sometimes I see things are really happening asynchronously in Flash Player's event flow. Is there anything I can do to regulate this and make sure it happens synchronously?

I have a utility class that I use to load images that never gets added to the stage and is extending EventDispatcher, it simply loads the data and spits it back out on request.
I want to add a custom event to track loading progress from outside the class. The events are firing but not (i think) bubbling because they aren't in the display list.
Is there a good way around this? I was thinking: Can I have a non display list object tell a display object to send the custom event for it?

I'm trying to dispatch a custom event from a custom class (which implements IEventDispatcher) to another custom class (also implements IEventDispatcher) but I cannot trigger the corresponding event handlers.The classes are instantiated at different parts of the application: one on the main canvas and the other on the back-end (data side) of the app. Neither of these is part of the display list hierarchy and I need them to communicate through events.I've looked through adobe docs, the web and Mook's Essential AS3, but have come up with nothing...

I have a SendData class that sends form info to a php script. It is a static class that does not extend anything.
I want to be able to dispatch an event if there is an error, or when it gets info back from the server. I have a custom event class that I have been using to dispatch events like this, but I have only used that in displayObject extended classes.
The problem is, it seems like something has to be a displayObject based class to dispatch events. I know there must be a way to do this, but I'm having trouble finding it in searches.

In Actionscript 3 is there any way to determine the precise display object hierarchy an event will traverse through when dispatched from a given object? The object is not necessarily a display object.Although I could imagine this actually being useful somehow, in my particular case it is a learning exercise. I'm trying to master the event system in flash and have some locations where I'm very curious what path an event will take when I dispatch it.

If I create a rectangle with 100px width and 100px height and then rotate it, the size of the element's "box" will have increased.With 45 rotation, the size becomes about 143x143 (from 100x100).Doing sometimes like cos(angleRad) * currentWidth seems to work for 45 rotation, but for other bigger angles it doesn't.At the moment I am doing this:

Can you make one Bitmap Object (I'm using an external jpg) or something similar, and then display it many times simultaneously without creating a separate object each time?
Also, would they be easily removed or hidden?
I've got a little checkmark jpg graphic loaded here, but I'm not sure how to go about using it in many places at once.. I can only display it in the one place at any one time...
I'm thinking there might be a way to load the picture once, then use its bitmapData elsewhere in new display objects somehow, without needing to reload the image over and over?

It's my understanding that a display object cannot be in the display list more that once.So if I add something to the stage shouldn't a second addition of the same object replace the first? for instance:

When I use MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT the target is [object MovieClip], but when I use MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT I get [object Bildspel] - and Bildspel is my class. The thing is that when I use ROLL_OUT I'm not able to delete the targets ENTER_FRAME event.

I want to listen for a custom event dispatched from the document class in a custom subclass. For example, let's say in the document class I have:
ActionScript Code:[code]....
So that the subclass will trace 'Event from document class received' when the 'customEvent' event from the document class is listened by the eventlistener. However, the output is only 'customEvent dispatched', meaning it wasn't heard in the subclass.

I'm trying to build a webmap application in flex. For this, I've got a fxg-file which represents the maps. It's in a also there are some elements, like POIs, text etc., in this group. I zoom the with scaleX and scaleY, this works just fine for the map. But the problem is: All children zoom also. I don't want this. They should stay the same place on the map and the same size.
