ActionScript 3.0 :: Displaying Contents Of Gallery Inside Scroller?
Jun 17, 2010
I have just successfully displayed the contents of my 'gallery' xml in a grid layout to my stage. My issue is I have a fairly small area to work with and I need to put these inside a custom scroller. The custom scroller I have atm displays only text (via a TextField and URLLoader) from a txt file and I'm confused how to alter it to load my gallery images (from my xml) instead. Can I load images from the XML into the textfield? Is there an easier way of doing it.
I have used a gallery component from flashXML.net. The problem is that the component makes internal stage conflict between my project and the gallery component, witch is embedded in my flash. The gallery works perfect, but it makes the scaling of my site totally wrong when I go back from the gallery to the rest of the site. Now I have override the problem by putting this code:Code: Select allstage.scaleMode="showAll"; on the frame where the HOME-button in the gallery is jumping to. The only problem now is that the site is about 20% off center at the left side on some screen resolutions. How I can get all the content perfectly centered?
I'm loading content from a text file into a text field in Flash. In that text file I have some simple html tags like <b>, <i>, and <img>. I'm setting the textfield as html text: myTextField.htmlText = myContent The img tags work fine, but for some reason the bold and italics are not displaying...the tags are being correctly stripped from the text, but there is no bold or italic text. I'm embedding all the characters I need, but do I need to somehow embed the bold/italics versions of those characters?
tutorial of photo gallery, the problem is that the scroller for the thumbnails doesnt work, i mean it doesnt appear, theres nothing on the screen, i dont know what the problem is, the pictures above appear correctly but the problem is the scroller, i have tried a lot of thing but i cant get it to work, maybe the problem is that i used flash cs3, and the tutorial was made for flash mx 2004
I've got myself a gallery which is generated from the contents of an XML file. (I just followed this excellent tut!)
I've decided that its too much hassle to update the XML file everytime a new image is added to the directory, so I'm thinking about using PHP to build the XML file. That means that going from PHP->XML->Flash. Can I just go straight from PHP->Flash? All I want to do is get a list of files in /directory_x. Are there any obvious benefits/drawbacks to either method?
I've got a horizontal gallery scroller that works great. The scroll bar snaps the animation to the closest image. You can view an example here:[URL]I've added the blue buttons to try and scroll directly to individual images which works fine. But once i have arrived at the image the Left & Right buttons don't function correctly to scroll to the next and previous image.[URL]Below is the AS.
// Scaling Mode Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; Stage.align = "TL"; // Total width and height of this movieclip
I have a website and i decided to make it in flash. In my website i have a image gallery and 2 places where i want to put the text. I want to make some buttons which change the gallery content and the text in one box.
I want to make the scroller vertical for this very impressive XML: [URL]. I've been trying and have been getting somewhat close to accomplishing this but I feel like I'm hacking up the code to get there.
How do I make a photo gallery that up dates by itself its contents getting it from a folder and putting then in order? The pictures when clicked should load a swf with information about the tittle.
Kind of like this but instead of scrolling to mouse move, the user would have to click the arrows. And it would be vertical instead of horizontal: [URL]
I followed someone's tutorial on CWD.dk and made this image gallery scroller. I have attached the file downloaded from the website. Basically, when you click the buttons, it will scroll the images. However, it doesn't ease in or out, and I would like to know how to make it ease in and out. I've been trying for the last 2 hours with no success. Anyway, the file is too large to attach, so here is the direct link. [URL]
I'm trying to combine a couple different dynamic image galleries. I've got a thumbnail scroller but I'd like it to rotate 8 every eight seconds until a thumbnail is clicked.
I'm clueless here. I could probably come up with a jacked up workaround if this wasn't dynamic, but it is.
I'm trying to make a simple horizontal image gallery scroller. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I've gotten the slider tab to work properly, but the masked image gallery is not moving at all when the slider is pulled. I included the Flash 8 FLA for the scroller in the post below.
I am trying to use rhamejs slideshow (located here) and I would like to move the scroller to a certain position on the stage but I'm not sure how to do it. My stage is 900px wide with a nav bar along the bottom. All I want to do is move the scroller to the right of my nav buttons and left of another button that is in the far right corner. I would like to stay within that space which expands depending on your browser/screen size. The main stage is set up to resize based on browser/screen size and all the nav buttons are anchored. I basically need the left edge of the scroller to be 535px from the left edge of the stage at all timesI need the right edge of the scroller to be 185px from the right edge of the stage at all times. I have tried editing these lines but after the width of your window gets to a certain point, the thumbs stop scrolling or disapear completely:
I am currently working on an Adobe AIR application that shows the user some graphical data. As this data is more in height to fit the screen height, I've placed it inside a scroller.
Now I want to take a print of this visual data, mostly some charts and lists but I only see a single page containing only the part of the screen that is currently visible to the user. I want to have the entire content inside the scroller to appear on the page.
I have added a button to Lee's scroller * ; to the 'content' movie clip, inside the scroller. Testing the movie, Flash recognises the mouse click -and doesn't give me any compiler errors- however, the button doesn't function. I am guessing my code isn't well enough written to get the playhead to move within the main timeline, as it is embedded in a movie clip (the content mc) within another movie clip (the scroller mc), perhaps. Using AS3, what additional code do I need to add to what I already have written?
My code for the button: // handle events for back to menu button ... btnbacksmilejapan.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickJapanSmiletoMenu); function clickJapanSmiletoMenu (evtObj:MouseEvent) { //trace shows what's happening ... in the output window trace ("The Japan Smile back toMenu button was clicked") // go to the Menu gotoAndPlay("scene two jpn"); }
My problem is that my scroller (made by Claudio I think) is working perfectly.. but when I put it inside of a movie clip it just won't show the loaded text. I donno why is it doing.. and I need it to be inside of MC.
I am adding data inside a VGroup dynamically using Action Script. Each data is an instance of a custom component. So when the number of item is more, It take time to load, which look bad.
Is there any way, we can load data to it, asynchronously or is there any way, so that more data can be added inside a scroller only when the scroll bar reaches to the end ( as it happens in Android or IPhone).?
I'm trying to make a scroller for a movieClip, with a static text inside does any one Know how can i do it. (I don't need the arrowfor this case but only the code for the scrolling bar)
I have a flash swf gallery that links to my flickr images via the flickr api. If I click on the index.html page on my local desktop then the main images (jpgs) are displayed high quality via IE8, however when I upload the swf and html page to my server when I access it via http the images are highly pixellated and low quality anyone know why on my desktop via the browser its fine, but when viewing through the server the images are low quality pixellated etc [URL]
I've been trying to code an XML gallery, and it was going very well. I got it to display the thumbnails with text, and made it look nice and everything. Well, it seems I came to a stop.. Any way to preload the images, have image rollover effects, or have an onPress event (on the images, to pop up the larger version). So it's like half complete. [URL] - this is what I have so far. The files are here: [URL]
I am having this problem with the firefox browser. I made a full flash site that contains a gallery ( xml ) and it works fine in I.E.. however, in firefox, the images in the gallery wont show. The gallery page stays blank, and just the "loading" text.. And also, I tried uploading it to a local server and it worked well for i.e and even firefox, the problem arises when we upload it to the main server.. The images wont show up again..
I have a simple Flash gallery which reads from a xml file. Everything worked well but suddenly one of the images (image10.png) doesn't show up, all I get is an 'X'. All the images are in the correct folders as I haven't moved them. It's the second item that doesn't work (in bold).
The answer to my question is possibly easy, yet I haven't found an example of solving it in the web, nor have I found a solution reading ActionScript reference. My problem is the following: I have a big UIComponent derivate element inside a Scroller (spark.components.Scroller) window. The Scroller class is great because when my canvas element, that changes size dynamically, exceeds its boundaries, scrollbars appear automatically and handle scrolling of my UIComponent inside it. However, I'd like not just to be able to Scroll using these automatically appeared scroll bars, but also by using a pan tool that I will myself implement (similar to the hand tool in Adobe software, for example). The thing is that I am not able to modify correctly the element's position inside the Scroller window.
I tried, as a first approach, accessing to my elements' 'x' and 'y' properties, however, when changing them, I dont get the resulkts wanted. The code for it is the following (in which, for symplifying reasons, I used a text label as my 'inside' element, and two buttons as an external scroll controller, instead of a hand tool)
