ActionScript 3.0 :: Drag Only In Horizontal Direction?

I have had the following problem for a while and i cant find any solution on google.I have the following and what i want to do is only allow the object current_switch_selector to be dragged in a horizontal direction but when i use the following for example it doesnt work

I have tried the following code to make a movie clip (car_mc) follow the mouse and to flip horizontally when the mouse changes direction. Some of it works well but the flip is unstable. I have also tried using -1 for both flips.
[I am using one of the Random Movement Tutorials and as my moving object have a front and a back I wish them to flip horizontally when the change direction.They currently start face left and start moving left, when they start moving right I wish them to flip horizontally.[code]
Is it possible to rotate movieclip, while dragging, according to mouse direction and mouse x, y on that clip.
on the picture the 0, 0 of the mc containing red box is where the lines cross, the mouse point is indicated with cursor and around it is the circle where clip's x and y should be constrained and movieclip should rotate according to mouse movement direction for example: when mouse is moving straight down then the clip's x, y rotates up and stops when its 12 o'clock...

I have got myself a movieclip that I would like to be able to drag left and right. I have got this sorted but I would also like the movieclip to ease to a stop depending on the speed it has been dragged. Is this possible?
I've been putting this together and ran into a wall. I'd like to have this drag scroller drag left and right. I'd also like to have it zoom in/out according to where the mouse has been clicked. i.e. zoom to the mouse when clicked. I would also like to be able to scroll left/right while it's zoomed in or out. As a bonus, it would be nice to get the original blur working as well, but thats just an extra

I'm working on a schoolproject and I have a flashapplication that I want on my site. In this image you see a horizontal scrollbar and a vertical scrollbar. In the middle are the photographs, those you'll click in the horizontal scrollbar and they will enlarge (with some text). That's the red arrow. The yellow arrow is the thing I wanted too. When you click a photograph in the horizontal bar en you hold em, you can drag that photograph in the vertical bar and drop it there.
I would like to drag an object in one line. I already know how to do this in a horizontal or vertical line

But I want do drag my object in a line that isn't horizontal or vertical. For example, I would like to drag the object from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, in one straight line.
I tried to rotate the bounds rectangle, but it seems that you can not rotate a Rectangle.
How do I drag an object in a non-vertical (or non-horizontal) line?
i have a scroller developed in as2. it basically scrolls continuously in a direction until the direction of the mouse is changed. the images of course loop in the continuous scroll. now the problem is that for 10-15 photos its ok. but when i feed it with 180 photos, it seems to show only 11. why would this be? any restriction on flash ??
have a ball with the name of mc which can be moved using the keyboard .. when you press the left mouse button shoots the ball, this ball and the other flies in the face where the cursor was in the shot .. but if you move the cursor to another location and shoot a second time then the second ball is also flying in the direction of the cursor and the first ball change direction toward a second shot ..
I'm currently learning Flash (CS4, AS3) and am creating a game. I have currently 1 flv file with 4 scenes, I then move from left to right and then to scene 2 and go from left to right. This is the game where items pop up that need to be clicked on and you get points.
Is there any way I can combine these onto 1 scene? Flash only allows you to have a maximum of 2880px wide.The reason for this is the transition between the scenes is RUBBISH and that my AS is not working correctly in between scenes (it loses values).
I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

I have a function that states when movieclip1 is dragged and hits a line then it stops the drag, however it seems to stop the entire drag function in the swf on the other movieclips even though they arent called in the function.[code]
Im trying to do a drag and drop system where the user can drag a movie clip into an area. Although i would like to make it snap to a target instead of just sitting wherever it lands in the area. Problem Two:

I am very new to AS3 and I am running into some issues creating a simple class that will allow you to drag and drop and object but then also scale when it is over a hit area. Here is my current code:
i have load in a .swf and this .swf is make up of one drag object. When i load into my _level0, i can drag it but it seem then the drag is not smooth, instead it is lagging. Thus i went back to the indiviual files and try to drag on it and it was not lagging. ...why is it like that? All the files are still on my local disk.
I am creating a Flash website (AS3) which contains multiple columns of swf's. These all have individual "start drag and stop drag" vertically and works fine. My problem is when I try to create start drag stop drag on top of these swf's horizontally - I want to be able to move the whole stage horizontally containing separate columns.
I am not sure how to code it and it ends up locking the "start drag top drag" inside the columns. How can I do this so that each column is scrollable and scroll to other columns without using a scroll bar...
I need a code in AS2 that launches a bullet ("bullet") from the character ("hero") towards wherever you clicked the mouse.For example, if I click somewhere, I want the bullet to launch straight towards where I clicked.
It is really nice to see the new text direction for TLF but i have one problem with it.We are trying to localize our flash application using strings. so far we follow the traditional way of translating each string and assign it with ID. Our 2 main languages are English and Hebrew. The problem is that for english we need to use LTR direction while in hebrew it is RTL.in a big flash application were the number of tlftextfields are big it is impossible for us to change the direction for individual tlftextfieldsin .
I need a push in the right direction. I have been programming ActionScript 3 for about a year and am just starting to separate my code out of the Flash using classes and things like that.
Anyways here is the problem. [URL].. Go here and upload an image and notice how when you drag the image a black box still appears to visually show the image is under the Obama logo image. I am trying to figure out how this was accomplished.
First: Is a mask being used to only show the image in that particular area? Or is this an transparent gif above the uploaded image? If a mask is being used then how is the rectangle achieved and how is the drag and drop still working when the mask hides the image?
Second: How is this box effect being achieved? Those are the most important questions. I figured out how to make an image resize using a slider. However I am curious how this guy did the advanced image resizer.
If someone can point me in the right direction as to how this is accomplished that would be great. [URL]..
