I have a problem that my slideshow works great when not embedded, I can click the pictures and the link opens in the same window just like I want. However, when I embed the slideshow the links do not work. I attach my embed code.

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
I want to make it so that when I click anywhere on the embedded Flash element, it takes me to a destination URL.
Here is my current code, which does not produce the desired effect:

Right now it is making the space behind the .swf file clickable for the link, but the Flash element is not clickable.
If the right thing to do is to edit the .swf file somehow, I don't consider myself a Flash developer, but are there any resources on where to get started or how to do something this basic with an existing .swf file?
I've created a flash naviagation menu and currenlly my links will open a pop up window. I don't want this. I want it to open the link in the same window. Here is the code for one of the links:

The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).
I wrote a flash (ActionScript3) based radio streaming player, there is a link in the player for users to click. It's is a "a" tag in TextField. The code looks like this

It works fine if I put my flash player in same domain of web-page, however, if the domain of web-page is different from the location of flash player, then the link is not clickable.
For example:

You can see there is a link in the title bar of radio player, I hosted the flash player on CDN, its domain is different from the web-page, therefore, the link is not clickable.
Why the link cannot be clicked if it is embedded in a cross-domain page? It doesn't make any sense. I did set the crossdomain.xml file properly, but it appears that it doesn't work. I want to make the link clickable everywhere, no matter what domain the web-page is located.

I've no idea how to fix this right now, I've tried googling but I only found as2 ways or changing the "_self" to '_self', but that doesn't work either. I got another site that is my personal portfolio (forte is more of a schoolproject) and I tried thesame thing out there, and it worked! So I thought that maybe surftown (that is forte's server provider) has something against this or something, I dunno.
I got my HTML embedded in my flash file, finally!But now I want some parts of the text that is in the HTML file to link to a specific label in flash itself.What variable can I use for this? or even a Href link?

I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into the main frame below my navigation bar? I'm working on my companys website and I am trying to make a link from flash open the default mail program so they can send us an email. All of that works fine and dandy.... on PCs. While using a mac I was not able to get the email to go through, it will just send back an undeliverable email. Does anyone know of a solution for this or am I going to have to completely change the way that I'm doing it?

I am testing a FLASH animation ad that has links to a website.When I click on the links, it opens firefox but it doesn't go to the link!I have added the links and the file names in the Adobe Flash Settings Manager, restarted several times, restarted in Safe Mode and it still does not work!I cannot find any information on this. My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.

I've done some digging and it looks like flash with flash air could be used to produce a standalone app which would run on both windows and Linux.
Before I start this long (and difficult) process, are my assumptions correct?
I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. View 3 RepliesI've built a SWF with the top layer being an invisible button. As a test, I simply uploaded the file to the server and clicked it. Here is the URL where the file is located: [URL] When clicked anywhere, it should take you here: [URL] and it does. I sent the SWF to a third party vendor who have placed the masthead at the top of a page: [URL] which its on their server. When you mouse over the image, it appears clickable, but if you click it, no action takes place. It's the exact same file. Why is it working from one place, but not the other?
