ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Movie Not Loading Locally - 5 Animated Dots Seen

We built a demo for a product we may build. The demo is in flash for FP 9 and is one master clip that loads about a dozen other clips. All these clips are intended to load locally in a browser window (just from the file system - not a server). What we noticed is that the two computers we developed this on (with Flash CS5 on them) show this fine in it's finished form (1 .html page / 1 main .swf - 12 child .swfs in a subfolder).
But on all other computers without Flash IDE installed it doesn't work. It loads the page in a browser and then just shows a grey screen with 5 "loading" dots that just repeat in the middle of the screen. I have not seen this before and didn't build the app - before i start digging into the code (was told maybe a problem with the loader trying to load from the file system as opposed from a URL) I wanted to know what could be causing this?

I'm building a flash website which uses a google map for a contact section and another one generated via external class for a projects section (for each one of the projects available there will be generated a map and a marker).This website uses SWFAddress and each of the projects receive SWFAddress dynamicaly via xml, pulling in the name of the project.The problem is when I test the website localy, on Flash IDE both the maps are loaded fine, but once I try it online on a webserver just the map on contact section is being loaded.I've tried to use a different key for each other -the contact section map key based on an url.Does anyone know what the problem might be? Is it because I'm using 2 maps on the same website? Is it because the url generated by SWFAddress is too long (I tried to generate a key based on something like URL...

I got this sweet minisite built in Flash that I'm going to load onto facebook for the fan page. Problem? I can't get the XML to load. I don't know the first thing about ActionScript, so I'm upp'ing a copy of the Source Files.

Starting with a blank project, when I load a SWF which has a dependence on ISomeInterface defined in a swc which is compiled into my blank project

I want a user running a Flash game on his machine (not from a server) to be able to save some game data locally.From what I've read, there still isn't any way to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows a sneaky xml or php work around.

I have created many flash video over the years so I definitely know how to embed an flv into flash. Also, it is very hard to screw up the import video wizard in flash so I have eliminated that as a potential problem. I haven't created a movie in quite a few months and yesterday I tried to create one. I used the wizard in flash to import the working flv and when i hit ctrl+enter to preview, a blank white screen showed up. When I right clicked, it said movie not loaded. So I tried to use AS3 and netconnection to embed the movie. When I previewed it, the same thing happened. I then went to view one of my existing swf's that did not have a video and that did not work either. I searched and found the adobe flash player security preferences and changed settings and NOW I can view swf's that do not have video. I can ALSO view old swf's that have video embedded BUT as soon as I open the original fla file and press ctrl+enter to preview, the swf's DO NOT preview anymore

I created the movie in a new folder, so I owuld have all the files... fss.html, fss.swf and MinimaFlatCustomColorPlayBackSeekCounterVolMute.swf I uploaded all these to the server.....

I have a project in Flash Builder and I use Bulkloader to load some configuration files. When I run the project from Flash Builder or in a server, everything works as expected, but when I run the SWF from another location (for example "my documents"), the project can't load the XML.

How is this done? Should I make the images/movie a separate flash file, then import it into the stage and then create all the buttons?

I started a discussion about my parameter catching problem and I've now narrowed it now. It turned out it wasn't the parameters not getting catched. The swf took the parameters fine, so that's apparently not the issue. My problem is that it seems like the .xml-file don't get loaded. When I've got my .xml file and .swf locally on my computer and runs it it works fine. When I place it on my web server the same way, it works fine. However, when someone else puts my .swf in embedded on their website the xml won't be loaded by the swf for some reason. Below is the AS3 code loading the xml file. It's been working fine all along until I started playing around with calling the swf from different sources (my friend's web server by embedding it etc.).

I'm using BulkLoader to load a single XML, parsing this, extracting out a list of images on another server (amazon), adding them to BulkLoader and loading them in.
this all works great running in the Flash IDE but as soon as it's uploaded the xml loads, parses BulkLoaders starts but non of the images load.
I assume it's a security issue but linking to these images from the local or from a html page works fine just not from Flash from a server.

I have one .swf that loads a second one on level 2.level 2 then in turn loads variables from a text file .The problem is that it works locally, but refuses to work on the server. The urls are all local. This is such a simple procedure, I can't figure out what is wrong..... are there limitations doing this via server vs. locally? I never get any "file open" errors locally. I've spent 2 hours on this.... I'm just using a simple LoadVars similar to this example:

I have built a site the loads external swfs for each page once the button is clicked on the main fla. im trying to add a custom animated progress bar (fade in, show progress, fade out, show content) for each page but not sure how to go about it. Also I am using flasheff2 and think it might complicate it a bit.

I am a noob to Flash AS3, having a problem loading animated MC's. I am creating an AS3 file. I have 5 animated movie clips, I want to load a new clip after the previous one is done animating. I would like to load each clip with code. I can get them to load, but not sure how to removeChild after 1 cycle of animation and add the new child to follow.

I have seen loads of cool sites with video that have an overlay of dots sitting over the video. I guess this is in part for a design aesthetic, and the other to reduce the visible amount of pixellation from the compression.Can anyone tell me how to create this sort of effect dynamically, or am i going to have to duplicate a million movieclips? And if i do, will this affect performance?

I'm looking to do a preloader for my site, what I want to do is that the user sees the percentage loaded, but instead of the typical bar filling up, I want dots to fill the screen. Each dot would appear with each percentage loaded. So for example, if its on 5%, there would be 5 dots, when it moves to 6%, another dot would appear on the screen. So in the end there would be 100 dots/circles on the screen. maybe say in a 10 by 10 grid. I know how to make the percentage loaded appear, but have no idea about the dots.

I have a movie clip that needs to move to a location when a button is pressed. I need the movement to be animated rather then just jump to the location. I think it would have something to do with affecting the movieclips _x and _y but i can't figure out how to make it animated.

I've hacked together this prototype "bouncing ball" from a few tutorials online.When the user clicks a color choice, the bouncing ball changes to the color picked. The ball does in fact change to the color, however, the animation ends.Is it possible to dynamically change the color and maintain the animation? 'm using AS3 and here is my script and no errors are thrown, so its doing what its suppose to.

I'm trying to create an animated movie clip button in AS2 using CS5. The button should fade in/out as the mouse moves over and away from the button.Lets say my frame rate is 30 FPS. When I insert a motion tween on frame 1, the timeline is automatically extended by 30 frames. I then select frame 30, select the button and change the alpha value to 30%. When I drag the head marker back and forth, the button fades in and out smoothly exactly as I wanted.But I want to create a motion tween between frame 1 and 10. So I select frame 10, insert a keyframe, select frame 5 and insert a motion tween. Then I select frame 10, select the button and change the alpha value to 30% like before. When I drag the head marker, there is no fade in/out. When the head marker is exactly over frame 10, the button is faded, but when it is on any frame between 1 and 9, it is normal.

I am currently using an onEnterFrame to animate a filter which is being applied to several different animated movie clips. This filter is triggered by an onRollover, which also pauses the main movie clip (that doesn't have a filter applied to it).
The problem is, the main movie clip in the background pauses but the layer that has the filter attached (and holds the movie clips that need to be affected by this filter) isn't pausing.
So, it's going:
onRollover
Pause movie (which has an embedded flv)
OnEnterFrame filter animation
I want it to pause all the movies on the current fram and then apply the animated filter.
I've tried adding a goToAndStop but this doesn't seem to work.
