Does anyone here knows how to get the path or the filename of an object inserted to the stage?
Here's the scenario:I'm developing a flash app, that enables the user to insert background to the stage by using the Browse and select using the FileReference in flash. I have successfully inserted whatever image the user choose, but what i'm trying to do is that if the user clicks save, the background image that he/she has selected will be copied to another folder on the web (uploads folder). Thus i need to know the path and filename of the background image.
I am in the process of writing a custom script for our internal SharePoint system that will allow for multiple file uploads on list items. In order for this to happen, I was wanting to use a flash file input (to select multiple files at the same time) and then pass an array of file paths (local to the user) into my ASP page to do the actual uploading.Does anyone know of a SWF multiple upload plugin that allows this? I've looked at Uploadify and cannot find what I need there.
Here is what I'm trying to do. I have a sunroom product that is available with several different options. I have created images of every possible combination of options, and named the files like this:
DeckFurniture_NoVisor_ClearGlass_View1.jpg
Hot Tub_Visor_TintedGlass_View3.jpg
I want users to be able to choose their options, and have the appropriate picture be displayed. So to get the above image, they'd have to choose "Deck Furniture" "No Visor" "Clear Glass" and "View 1". Or to get the other one they'd choose "Hot Tub" "Yes Visor" "Tinted Glass" and "View 3"
It's not necessary to have it auto-update the image, so I was thinking they could choose their options and then click "Update", and that would in a sense pull up the correct filename from the options they've chosen. I'm not exactly sure how to tell Flash to change this master variable (the filename) whenever one of the sub-variables (pieces in the filename) change. Would I have to put a script on each option button telling it when it gets selected to change the master variable?
So I've created a script where a mc is clicked on and the player can draw a path using the mouse. I'm trying to figure out how I can get the mc to follow the path drawn out by the player's mouse and when the player clicks again, it erases all of the path.my code is below
I am working on making a picture move along a path but for some reason I can't get it to work. I have followed the instructions in my text book but the image just goes down at an angle to the bottom right of the stage instead of following the path I created in the motion guide.

I am trying to import an image path from a xml file. I can trace out the correct file name but I can't seem to load the file into the holder.I get this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
I presume there's something else I need to add to the XML syntax.
Code:
// HOLDER: var LoaderImagesMC:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); // LOADER:
I have motion tween of 100 frames. The motion tween path on the stage shows me Keyframes at every 5 frames i.e. it shows keyframe of 5,10,15,20 and so on till 100. No issues with that at all. But when trying to motion tween the duration to 99 frame or even lesser the entire motion tween path shows me each and every Keyframe on the stage which becomes so cumbersome to handle as then I have to manage all the keyframes on the stage. Whereas, when it is 100(just a frame more) it starts showing a different display. How can I have to same display if I were to reduce the motion tween to 99 or less, in that instance it is much easier to ease the frames in my animation. Is there any setting which controls this? I am using Flash Professional CS5.0
I'm creating a DVD with an image gallery, everything local. But the thing is my loaded images appears within flash, and not outside when I execute the swf. The path of the image is inside an array (from an xml file). If I write the path of my trace(array[x][x]), the image outside flash is shown. But when I write: loadMovie(array[x][x].toString()) or loadMovie(array[x][x]) It doesn't... I did a trace of array[x][x] and it shows me the exact path to the image.. Code: _root.obra_mc.containerImg_mc.loadMovie("images/Patrimonio/Ceramica/"+(obras[0][1]).toString());
I have done some coding in the past in .asp .aspx, but it is not my primary forte. I am working on a site that has a page for project photo galleries, and have been following a lot of the tutorials from this site. I have a directory structure as follows:
For testing purposes, in projects.fla, and resulting projects.swf, I have:
xmlData = new XML(); xmlData.ignoreWhite = true; xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;
[Code]....
how to code projects.fla with the correct path to the .xml file in the <root>projectsproject1 directory, and ideally, a way to make it dynamic so I can pass the path to the projects.swf file using a variable, and be able to direct the movie to use the intended xml file, thumbnails, and images based on the press of a button contained in a projects menu. Unless I have missed something, all of the tutorials I saw had the images and .xml file in the same directory as the .swf.
I'm trying to figure out a way to alter a path to an image that is in a meta tag. It's for a facebook share button, and I'd like the ability to change the thumbnail image that is sent to facebook depending on where the user is in my flash file. The link itself is sent from flash no problem but I'd like to update this meta tag Code: <link rel="image_src" href="[URL]" / > First somehow (not sure if PHP is the answer or flashvars or what) and then send the link. I attempted to just add all the facebook meta data to a php file that had a redirect link to the facebook share but it didn't like that hack. So basically I need to alter the meta tag on the current page and send the link from flash.
The solution should be straight forward but I cannot find it, my problem it's that I'm reading a xml, and one of the properties inside the xml it's a Bitmap path(string), when I`m reading this xml I would like to convert this string to a Bitmap Obj so I can use through my MXMLs.
I managed to make some code that works perfectly which, when the flash game is launched it randomly inserts a picture from the list you give it (word1.png, word2.png etc.)It works fine! But the problem is the place in which it appears, when i start the pictures appear in the top left corner of my flash game, but I want them to appear at preferably the location of a symbol or the x & y coordinates I specify (In actions obviously, i dont want to type these coordinates in game :P).Btw here is the code
var _loader:Loader = new Loader; var _pictureArray:Array = ["word1.png", "word2.png", "word3.png"]; var _whatPicture:Number = Math.floor(Math.random()*3);
i'm using a XML file fromwhich i load thumbnails and images into Photo Gallery.[code]The problem is all thumbnails acting as buttons even the empty thumb which hasn't image_path in XML?!
I have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.
1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?
In AIR/AS3 Flex Mobile for Android project.How can I capture an "image" of whats visible on the view then just save that image as anything like jpg/pdf to the SD card?Basically a screenshot on Android using AS3.
I'm creating a moodboard application where the user can dynamically load an image onto the stage by pressing a thumb of the image in a menu item. I have most of that working but what I would like to know is that, if there is a way the user can interactively scale/transform the image when it is on the stage in the swf file?
I have a loop which duplicates a MC ('news_list')on the stage and places it underneath the most recent clip...
code: for( i = 0; i < total; i++) { var news= news_list.news_item.duplicateMovieClip("news_item" +i, i);[code].........
I have a text box inside the MC which autosizes depending on how much text is inserted from an xml file. This should then obviously increase the height of my 'news_list' movieclip.What I want is for the next instance of the 'news_list' MC to be placed directly underneath the current one,no matter the height of the clip.Currently,I can only get it to position a specified distance below the current instance.The code above is what I've currently got,but I can't quite grasp how to grab the height of the current instance, and then use that in the code to place the next instance below it...
I've inserted my flash movie into an HTML page and uploaded all the necessary files, but it will not display. I've seen other users post their code, so I will here:
I have a multi-column DataGrid that I've populated only three of the seven columns with data. One of the columns are editable. The other three are not editable. What I intend to do is have the user enter data into the editable column. Once the data is entered, The other three empty non-editable columns will populate based on calculations done to the value in the editable column.The problem is that when I enter data into a row of the editable column, the data isn't being reflected as entered until I try to add a new row. Is there any way to get the value being entered into the cell right after it is entered without the user having to enter a new row?
Whenever I use the pen tool, or brush tool, or anything for that matter, I can not view it on Flash Stage. I've noticed that if I set the file to ActionScript 2.0 I can though. This would be fine, except that I need ActionScript 3.0.. I'm a student, and I have a project I need to start...calling Adobe support did not help at all.
P.S. (if this makes a difference) Whenever I test the movie, I can see whatever I put on the stage.
I'm having problem with regards to getting the name of the inserted images inside the movieclip container.
My movieclip container is named "container", it followed this snippet:
[Code]....
Is it possible to get the exact name of the images instead of "instance147" or "instance175"? So that if i have inserted image with the name of apple.png, it will show:
| 1. name:apple.png type:object [object Loader]
By the way, i use FileReference to insert image to the stage.
I am using CKEditor in my website's CMS, which spits out an XML file of CDATA enclosed content to be read by flash. The problem is that CKEditor, when its enterMode is set to <p> tags, creates a line break and a tab in the source which, when read by flash, enters space, even though I have ignoreWhiteSpace set to true. Any way to prevent ckeditor from using this behavior?
EDIT:
I still want to keep any <p> tags entered from within the editor - I just don't want all the extra space / tabs that get added in the actual source. If I use the above method, my actual code will be modified. What I'm getting if I view the source is this:
<p> Donec at erat nec tortor sodales tempus.</p>
(an enter, and either a tab or a bunch of space after first <p> tag, instead of:
<p>Donec at erat nec tortor sodales tempus.</p>
(no spaces or breaks after <p> tag in source and I believe this is affecting the presentation of the XML.
