I'm not sure when this started, but when I publish any movie (fp9 or fp10) in the IDE, my SWFs aren't appearing in my browsers (release player 10,1,102,64) ONLY WHEN I'm viewing the swf/html that are on my web server.I can view the local SWF/html if I open those files locally in the browser? I'm on a Mac and I've deleted all my Flash CS4 preferences.

I am creating a site, and it has a animation that it has to play before loading the next section. What I cant figure out is what function I need to create so that when a user clicks on the vision button it will play the frame after stop(); which will close that section, then have it load the frame for the section that the person clicked on. The only way I can think of doing this is creating 3 different close animations for the three sections. But I figure there has to be a way to have it play the one close animation and then goto the frame which is the portfolio section or vision section (depending on the button clicked).

View 1 RepliesI just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.
I have been using CS4 for about a week, getting used to it from CS3. I just noticed that I published a file in Flash Player 10 and do not see an AC Run file in the folder yet the swf displays.I uploaded to my server and it still display?

It's a great piece and works fine when you publish your flash movie as v6. But I'm wanting to use it in a movie that I have to publish as v7 with as2, and it doesn't work at all when you do that.[code]

I just published a short movie from Flash CS4 and placed the entire set of files at this URL[URL] and when my web designer or me for that matter double clicks on the HTML file the movie doesn't play. We get a black screen and at the bottom of the frame in the progress bar there's a little green & white zebra like moving line. I'm pretty sure this is how I've delivered movies from CS3. I'm obviously missing something obvious here, but I haven't a clue. If I double click on the HTML file on my machine that has Flash installed it works great. The .FLV file plays correctly in media player also.
View 7 RepliesI am testing Flash CS4 at the moment, but something is wrong with it. What I did hundreds of times in CS3, here it just doesn't work.I used Adobe Media Encoder to make F4V from AVI. Then I imported that file to flash (load external video with playback component). Then I previewed it (ctrl+enter) and everything was fine, but once I saved (or published) it, the movie didn't play anymore. There was just background and no movie nor playback component.I tried encoding that file to FLV, even for older flash versions (I have the newest one installed), but that didn't help.

I am running Windows, and have the debug stand-alon flash player 9, but I want the release version to be used for this as it is faster at rendering and calculations. I just wanted it so I could replace my release stand-alone flash player 8 with it, so flash will then use this for me. I looked all over the internetz, and i only found the debug player.
I need to be able to play any stream published to our FMS application, without connecting to the application as regular users do. I am an administrator and the service is ours. Can I do so using Administration API, for instance? I sure can get the list of the streams, but I have not found a way to stream these as video yet. I am building an application not unlike Admin. console, but with more functions that we need. If Admin. console seems to be able to play streams, it must be possible?

View 2 RepliesCan't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).
View 8 RepliesI created a flash file that contains a flv file inside. After I published it on my Mac in both html and swf format and it played well. But when I copied all this folder include the swf, html and the source flv to test on a pc it played well but the video part (flv) was blank. So I copied the .fla file to pc and published again, then it works fine (including the flv video part) on both pc and Mac. All the settings were same while publishing.So I wonder what's wrong with publish from Mac side? I work with Mac and so it's very inconvenient to publish my work on PC.

View 5 Replieseveryone out there that is smarter than me. I have made this little prototype video player, and it isn't working. It'll eventually become a nice little player show videos from our summer camp for the last few years, but first I want to make it work in a basic stripped down version. There is a playback component with one of the skins right above the three buttons.

I installed a Flash template that has some "Read More" buttons.I see the actionscript for a button is:

After experimenting, I realize that it is the 3rd line which controls which page (ie/ frame number) the button links to.So in the above example, the button will link to frame 4 of the symbol.In another button that same line reads:this.title2.num = 5 and so clicking that button will link to frame 5 of the symbol.Now here in that above code shows which symbol to go to - it just seems to know where to go (it actually goes to a symbol called 'Content Movie Y6').So my question is, how does it know which symbol to link to?I'd like to know in case I want to change the link in the future.
More info:All of these "Read More" buttons have a roll-over effect which is a movie clip symbol called 'button_more'.The actionscript code for the button_more symbol is:

I still can't see anywhere where it configures which symbol to play upon release of the button.

But when I add the on (release) to the movie it doesnt advance the timeline on (release). And when I change the file to a button instead of a movie clip it doesnt do the underline on (rollOver).
I'm new to Flash and am looking to use the following tutorial to create an advanced button. I know it is probably a very simple fix, I just cannot figure it out. View 4 RepliesI have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
Is there anyway to combine these two functions?I'd like to play the animation "num=3" on clip load AND on click/release I'd like it to open a url. All of this is inside a movieclip button.

View 4 RepliesI'm working on a small application that uses some throw physics to fling items around the stage. Everything is working as it should, apart from when I test it on my touch screen, the throw physics don't work. I've tried all sorts of things, in in those tests noticed that AS2 release and release outside do work on the screen perfectly, whereas mouse up and mouse out do not!
So, is there a way to emulate the AS2 mouse events in AS3, as I have to stick with AS3 this time.
Why can't I get my FLVs and F4Vs to play out of a browser window but they'll play out of explorer through the Adobe Media player?Once I convert them to be SWFs, they play out of a browser but they're still humungous and take a lot of time to play. 400Mgs as an FLV/F4V and 200Mgs as a SWF. Is there a way to shrink them down to a much smaller file size? These were video recordings of long presentations.
View 1 RepliesI know this is a very basic question and one that I know the anwser to, but it's been a while since I've used Flash and the solution is escaping me right now. I'm loading external swfs into my main swf and they should just be playing automatically. When I test in Flash, the system works. Upon loading the swf into an HTML page, the system seems to shut down. It seems liike the exteranl swfs aren't even loading. This is what I've got so far.
