ActionScript 3.0 :: If Someone Clicks On Text They Are Linked To Text.html

I am creating an online order form in Flash, and there is a phrase which says: I accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy The words 'Terms of Use' and 'Privacy Policy' are supposed to be underlined and if you click on them you are linked to termsofuse.html and privacypolicy.html. Is it possible to create an invisible button which is placed over the these words? Or can you link the pages directly to the words?
I have a simple video player with 4 thumbs and a flvplayer component. When you click on the thumbs a corresponding video play.
What I would like to happen is to have a title above and a description below when the thumbnails are clicked. Here's the as I have for the thumbs to link to the vids:
I've got a bunch of text in some of my pages, and there are parts of the text that I have linked. On the web, the text just looks normal, which is fine, but when I put the mouse over it, the finger pointer doesn't come up, so no one would guess it's actually a link if they didn't know. It still works if you click on it, but why doesn't the mouse turn into the finger pointer?
Im using Flash 8 to make a meny for my webiste. When you point whit the mouse on the meny it will scroll down, and if you take it outside it will scroll back. But im facing a problem When i try to put buttons or linked text into the movieclip, they just wont work... Anyone know what i have done wrong?Here you can download the movieclipHeres the code.

I am trying to pull a link (or links) out of a text string. So if I had something like this:[code]I would like to be able to find the links in the text string and replace them with a single word or words that I would format to be an HTML link within a text box.I've had some luck with string.indexOf, but I'm not sure how to detect the end of the link where the remaining text begins that I don't want linked.
I'm playing around with a messaging type of application. Does anyone know how, or of any tutorials on to "appending" html text to text areas in flex and flex mobile projects? And specifically how I could take that and basically "append" a sprite inline to the text when i need to? I have a text field component that I am dynamically populating with text. The words appear one letter at a time in a teleprinter style fashion. I also have rendered certain words with HTML to make style changes within the text.Now all this works fine, except because the HTML text is larger than the body of the other text, I am losing theteleprintereffect at the bottom of the text field. In other words, after a set amount has been printed, users are not seeing the letters printed out one at a time, but instead just get a printed line of text appear from beneath the visible section of the text window.
I want to import an html file that contains just plain tet inside of a dynamic text box. The things that I have tried jus tmake the html file pop-up as a new page, but i want the information inside of that textbox.
I'm trying to use a dynamic text field to pull in html text that contains a bulleted list. Easy enough, that works. But the bullets dont take on the color assigned to the field. I've tried putting it in the html text and also using NewTextFormat and neither work. Can someone help me. This should be a simple fix, but I can't find it... I just want my text and bullets to both be white.

I am trying to implement htmlText for a text component as the returned string is in html format (with the html tags etc). If I put a text=.... i get the full text, but with the tags (which i want converted to html). So i use htmlText=.... and it formats it fine, but cuts half the text from the variable. The text im supposed to get back has tons of html tags, and maybe its cutting it somewhere because of the tag its not able to escape... How do i fix this?
I am using a dynamic text field to show html formatted text from .txt files. I have set the html property both in the properties panel and in AS, and it mostly works. All html formatting show up just fine, except for when "&" is used. Flash CS3 documentation indicates that & is supported, so.? All text after the & does not appear: the only text loaded is that that comes before it. I am using CS3, AS2, publishing in Flash Player 9. Sorry if this problem has been addressed elsewhere, but I've had no luck with my searches.
I'm loading dynamic text into a textField created at runtime. The problem is that you have to click the button twice to see the correct text. The previous text won't clear on the first click.

Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

The contents of myText.txt are <a href=(not sure what to put here)> Product 1 </a> But all that does is put it in the text output section in flash.It does not show it in flash. It's what this image describes:For some reason, I cannot use bold tags to set the TLF text to bold, even though both the regular and bold fonts are embedded.so that the webpage that embeds this movie can call its function (otherwise the movie itself will be wrapped by TLF).his is not exactly a question since there is an obvious solution to this. I'm building this flash site for a friend and he wants to be able to edit the contents and maintain the site by himself later on. So naturally, I used a dynamic text field that uses URLloader to link to an external html, dandy. Problem is, my friend wants to use dreamweaver to edit the contents of html (or even just a word document exported as html) and it's just driving him nuts because the text look nothing like that way it did in DW when it's loaded into the dynamic text field (extra spacing and line break popping up randomly everywhere). Is there an alternative solution other then telling him to just edit it in notepad? What if I switch over to XML?

I have a linked movieclip that contains two textfields.One of the textfields needs to have regular and bold text, so I thought I would use htmlText however it's only showing the regular font that I embedded?I made the textfield in Flash and called it "details".I also tried to make another textField in the symbol called, "invisi" and I set it not visible:invisi.visible = false;I embedded the BOLD version of the font in the invisi textfield, hoping this would make the "details" text field show the bold font...but no luck.
I've got a number of related projects set up in Flash Builder. Each project gets its graphical assets from an exported SWC file (or multiple SWC files.) This works fine, but I wanted to create a shared project that contains stuff used across all projects. The first item in there is a screen with a number of clips containing dynamic text fields on them. This screen (and associated assets) are exported to a SWC and then I have written code in the shared project to add functionality to the screen and buttons. I'm using 2 fonts, both are embedded.
Both show up just fine in my test harness, but when I link the shared SWC and src folder (which is required in order to use this code/assets in the other projects) the textfields blank out if I try to set their text properties. If I leave the default text (set in the FLA) it shows up, and the static text fields in the FLA also show up, it's only when I set the text property.
I've tried a number of combinations, including removing embedding, exporting for ActionScript, setting all textfields in the shared project to dynamic, all with no luck. The main project does have the same font embedded, and I've checked that the same glyphs are selected in both the main and shared projects. I realize this is a rather complicated setup, but I have yet to find a workflow to allow a designer and developer to work on large projects that is better (but I'd love to hear one!)
I have a text input box inside a movieclip. I want to detect when the user clicks inside and open up a modal window with the full form. I use the following line of code:
And it works fine, but just the first time. When I close my modal window without entering any information and click on the input form again, nothing happens. The listener is there, but nothing happens. My guess is because the focus is already there. Should I be using another listener? MouseEvent.CLICK is not what I'm looking for because I only want the window to fire when inside the textbox is clicked, not the whole thing...
I also tried Code: stage.focus = null; and it also doesn't work.
I have a variable that is in a text file, which contains HTML that i load into my project and it displays it as html in a textbox..Im trying to have a MC in there that I can change the html text and save it over the file thats already there...and then next time i load it up, it will load the html text that i just created and saved to the file.ight just be a simple like php scripting or osmething that saves it to a txt file? i tried looking through the forum.
I need to show the amount of times the counter has been moved along the board, ie how many turns the player has.
the dynamic text box is called 'moves' and the counter is a button which is pressed for each move. Therefore, it would need to be added to the onRelease function.
