Feb 7, 2007I'm using xml to load .flvs into a movie player. I have it setup to load an external .swf to level 1 when the movie is finished. My goal is to have the .swf on level 1 select the next .flv from the xml array by way of simple buttons. Needless to say, it's not working. Anyone care to give it a crack?

Jan 25, 2010I'm using loadMovie() to load external swf's and then send the swf to a specific frame, depending on the button that is pressed.

Unfortunately it ignores the second line, which appears to be because the movie hasn't loaded by time it gets to the next line. As a work-around I made an interval to check for the movieclip width to be more than 0 and then run a function that chooses the desired frame, but this is very unreliable. Is there a simple way to load the clip and wait until it is finished, then immediately choose a frame on load?

Feb 19, 2010I have a page that loads loads of swfs*. I'm loading in them all at the same time, Sequentially which is slowing down the intro animation. Is there a way to load swfs sequentially? Or if not load them on a timer (half a sec would do the trick I think)
*there lots of different dynamically generated Flex graphs so it's not possible to have them all in one.

I figured out how to make the movie stop at the end so it won't loop forever, and I have a Replay button that appears and restarts the movie. But my directives have changed and I now need to know how to make the movie -- when it ends -- automatically go to and stop on frame 22 of the movie and also have that Replay button then appear when it does stop on frame 22. (Frame 1 through 22 is a gradual fade-in to the first scene, that's why I don't want the replay button to appear on frame 1).

Dec 31, 2009I tried to implement a simple preloader for an existing swf movie. I've created a new flash document and added the Loader as well as a ProgressBar component. In the action script of the key frame 1, I implemented the following:

The problem is now that the movie starts playing (i.e. its sound) before the progress bar is completely finished. This usually happens around 80%. How can I avoid that the movie starts before the progress bar reaches 100%?

Mar 30, 2009I have an splash page with a movie that plays, after the movie is finished I want it to redirect you to the home page. The movie is sitting on 1 frame in the timeline. Is there a way to have it redirect after the movie is finished playing?

does not work. It is a dynamic site so there is no <head> tag I can put an HTML redirect in. I need to be able to do it through flash.

Mar 24, 2010I'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded?

Dec 3, 2009I'm currently making an animation which will eventually exceed the 16,000 frame limit (don't ask haha), so, short of making two movies and having to just start up the next one, what is the code for loading a movie? I presume they need to be in the same directory? So basically all I want is on the last frame of the movie the code executes and the second movie file opens up and starts. I guess I'd want the current movie to close, too.

Apr 2, 2009I am pulling double duty with this question as it serves two purposes. I am developing a total flash controlled ad system for myself, but also need to use the same theory for a project for work.
Concept: I have a main movie (ad rotator system) that I then want to randomly load other swf's (individual ads) into this main swf after a set period of time. The random load I got set no problem. The problem I am having is to get it to move to the new Frame label of the main movie which then loads the smaller swfs. I am using the LoadMovie with nInterval time delay command in flash to load the movies.

May 28, 2002I'm trying to do a demo with a fastforward button and a rewind button that will go to the next scene and previous scene...however, due to the format that my predecessor created used...I'm stuck with alot of scenes. The navbar (ff and rewind buttons) is in a .swf file called main. The actual demo is in demo3.swf. I created a loader scene to redirect to the correct scene (when ff and rewind are hit), but I'm not sure how to pass the variables needed from the main movie.

Oct 1, 2003I have a movie. In it are some buttons and a dynamic text field. When I press the buttons is should load text from a database into the dynamic text field. If I run the movie by itself (ie. not by LoadMovie()-ing it into a different movie) the dynamic text field gets filled with text and all is well and good. However, when I use LoadMovie() to load this very same movie into my main movie, the buttons no longer work; the text field stays empty.
