Professional :: LoadMovieNum: Change Movie After Finished?

So, I have a site, and I want it to play an intro movie when you load the index page. I have it as LoadMovieNum (videos.htm), but I want it to play the video on that page, which is about 30 sec. long, and then redirect to another .swf page entitled index.swf.
how to loadMovieNum in AS3?..I know the migration that we should use the Loader type

something like that?..But my question is if we do LoadMovieNum("home.swf",0); ""lvl 0 > Stage right""its like replace the previous stage with the new stage..whereas the 2 swf have the difference size..when i did with the Loader, thats load covered the previous SWF and the window size didnt resize automatically..
how do I tell an html page to open with a swf item on level 50, so that when I call another item into level 50, it REPLACES the original item. Right now, when I call another item, it just goes over the top and stuff shows. I'm using loadMovieNum, AS 2 Flash CS3
is there a way to capture the Error loading message as a boolean when loading an external file (AS2)? I wanted to make a decision based on the success for loadMovieNum.
The scenario is that I have a file that I am loading with loadMovieNum and all is working successfully.
The circumstance I wish to cover is if the file is missing for any reason, I want to load a placeholder movie.
I have looked at onLoad and onClipEvent(load) but these appear to only be for movieclips and not external files.
I have two .swf(s) I want to play similataniously on stage in my movie called base.fla.either movie is in the library they are being called from the same directory level that the base.fla movie is. Here is my script.

I'm populating a Dynamic Text field with content from an external flat text file.To load the text file I have a frame action: loadVariables Num("flash.txt", 0);This works fine when viewed by itself.The problem is when I load that Movie into the Parent (container) SWF file using loadMovieNum - it will no longer work.
I am doing a 5 frame file that on frame 1 has 4 buttons and the following code on (release) { gotoAndStop(4); } on (release) { loadMovieNum("jigsaw.swf", 1); }
I am happy with this as it jumps to frame 4 and loads the movie jigsaw that I done from a tutorial. The problem is I cant get it to close, I have got a button on page 4 that has the gotoAndStop(1) but it just goes to frame 1 (that's the good bit) but the jigsaw is now on frame 1 as well and I dont know how to close it.
I tried on (release) { gotoAndStop(1); } on (release){ unloadMovieNum("jigsaw.swf", 1); } but it does nothing not even go to frame 1
I can't seem to unload a movie, I've tried every possible actionscript code and still it won't go away. My objective is to run in the main stage a sub menu and for that I've done sub pages each one with a previous and next button (inside the movie that will be loaded), and that's the catch. I can't put the loadMovieNum in 0 level because it would replace the main stage. So I'm trying to do on the button:

Is there anyway to remove the actual movie and replace it with the new one?
this is for a loader on an already created flash. Which I am updating. All I am doing is changing a picture that has no coding with it, and changing the publish settings. The publish setting for the original was set for flash player 5, however I need it set to flash player 8. After I change these settings and export the movie to a .swf, I get the errors.Has the action script changed that much from flash 5 to flash 8?
I am making several movie clips that are linked to scroll panes.All of the content is text.I have one movie clip that is a bit longer than the others and if I test the movie a good deal of the text is CUT OFF.This ony happens with the long text movie clip. Is there somewhere I can change the lenght parameters?
How do I scale and move a finished animation (with more than one simbols - do I have to group them or something since I don't wan't to touch the background?) without having to do it on every keyframe?

But my directives have changed and I now need to know how to make the movie -- when it ends -- automatically go to and stop on frame 22 of the movie and also have that Replay button then appear when it does stop on frame 22. (Frame 1 through 22 is a gradual fade-in to the first scene, that's why I don't want the replay button to appear on frame 1).

I tried to implement a simple preloader for an existing swf movie. I've created a new flash document and added the Loader as well as a ProgressBar component. In the action script of the key frame 1, I implemented the following:
The problem is now that the movie starts playing (i.e. its sound) before the progress bar is completely finished. This usually happens around 80%. How can I avoid that the movie starts before the progress bar reaches 100%?
I'm trying to create a wrapper written in ActionScript2, which loads a second AS2 swf then when this loaded swf has finished animating the wrapper will load a second swf. This is the code I have to load the first swf:
I have an splash page with a movie that plays, after the movie is finished I want it to redirect you to the home page. The movie is sitting on 1 frame in the timeline. Is there a way to have it redirect after the movie is finished playing? onEnterFrame = function() { getURL("[URL]"); } does not work. It is a dynamic site so there is no <head> tag I can put an HTML redirect in. I need to be able to do it through flash.
Is it possible to set a listener or something like it to run a function once the flash movie itself has finished loading?So something like:When this flash movie has finished loading, activate function.Btw. I'm not trying to do this with a swf file loaded into another flash movie. I need this to be done by the movie once it self has finished loading.
I want the simple movie to load the URL(home page) after it's finished. so i tried to add getURL("[URL]" , "_blank"); at the end of movie, but i keep getting errors.. this is the website that i'm working on LINK It's a very simple. i'm not even going to dare to make it fancier. I just want the movie to be over and go straight to the home page without any clicks.. i tried to put the geturl thingy at the last movie clip(Imagine tomorrow) and i tried to put it at the end of the keyline.. neither seem to work. i'm sure it's very easy one, but it just doesn't work.
I'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded?

I'm using xml to load .flvs into a movie player. I have it setup to load an external .swf to level 1 when the movie is finished. My goal is to have the .swf on level 1 select the next .flv from the xml array by way of simple buttons. Needless to say, it's not working. Anyone care to give it a crack?
I am on the main stage. In a layer I create a button. I double click on this button to enter its layer. I then do some AS3 to say if the play button is pressed, to change to a pause button. How would I say "If the main timeline is finished, change to the play button"? I am trying
