If I wanted my flash web page to show a different picture on the bottom layer with graphics on layers above each time it is opened, would I be better off using xml or some kind of onLoad function?
I was wondering if anyone might know offhand why the images at this link: [URL] don't load properly the first time. Because after you let the browser load all of the images, then refresh the page, they load perfectly.
I realize that I should be posting the source code, but I don't have it right now. I will post it later today, for anyone interested.
[URL] For reasons unknown to me, the xml gallery on the page above won't load in any of the images in Firefox. However it does work in IE7, as well as locally in Firefox, Safari and Opera. I have tried removing the whole site and re-uploading it, as well as updating the individual files separately but I still seem to have the same problem.
My basic aim is to create a newspaper that consists of four pages. Each page i have created and are sitting in the library as sprites. Each page has buttons that need linking so that when pressed it loads the next page or page that i want. This is the part i am confused with =/ how do i make the buttons on each page load the next page (sprite) from the library??
I have a an unobtrusive flash video looping in the background of a website, it is not essential to navigation - it is purely cosmetic. The flash video loops every 30 seconds. As this video is on all pages, it jumps back to the start when a new page is loaded. Is there an actionscript / javascript way to get it to remember the position it got to on the old page so it can start there on the new page?I do know that this can be accomplished by loading the flash movie in a frame as well as by having the subsequent pages load the contents in AJAX but I was hoping not to go down this route.I have seen other people ask the question and allude to the solution but they only posted that they got it to work without saying how.
I am trying to load an external swf with a number of quotes into an empty movie clip on the home page. then I want it to obviously disappear when nav to any other page.
1) know that you need a loaderEmpty_mc to load the swf into
2) don't know code for how to get it to load on entering the home page
3) don't know how to cdde for leaving the home page and making it disappear
Im working on a website for school, and im doing it through flash. The server ive been given is being taken up by thousands of pages, so its slow. Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?
I am trying to load multiple images into a scene and then cycle through the images one at a time. So, here are the essentials what I've put together in AS3:First I set up a counter and a Loader
[code]....
Then, after loading a list of images from an XML file, I call a function that I called "createImages". This function then takes the list of images and creates a bunch of loaders:
[code]....
So far, so good! I now have a bunch of loaders each with a different name "img1","img2","img3" etc.
I am using actionscript 3. I can load an image in a class but how do Iload a number of images eg 4 images that animate.?These 4 images are a walking sequnce of a character. I am unclear after googling an loading multi images in as3( just love google).
Loading a single image I load this into a loader Once loaded I load the image into a bitmap and add to a sprite I then add the spite to the stage Q)Now for 4 related images I load 4 loader or 4 sprites or 4 bitmaps or do every thing 4 times?I want to do collisions eventually and I need bitmaps but bitmaps seem useless to use other than collisions.Googling for answers isnt helping me clarify this!
I have a rotaing menu that loads in images from an xml file, I would also like it to load in text info from the same xml file to the left side of the images that load in. In my main .fla have created a movieclip and called it 'textInfo' and inside that I have two dynamic text fields called 'headerText' and 'bodyText' where I want to load the text in. this is what I am using to loading in the text in my actionscript, is this correct?
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
I have successfully dynamically loaded Jpegs into my flash document(using PHP), but then I have another small problem. When I dynamically load the image (example: image_icon_bluesky.jpg) I then need to tell the MC that is holding the loaded image that it needs to do this...
on (release) { _root.image_bluesky.alpha = 100; }
SO basically every time a new image is loaded in my sort of "loop" script. I need to tell the image that it needs to put specific code onto the MC using specific "image" details for that specific image.
I hope this is clear. Basically what I'm trying to do.On my flash stage I already have MC's that have their alpha properties set to "0". Lets say there are 3 images. One MC is called Blue, other is called Red and the last one is called Yellow. Now using AS + PHP I have dynamically loaded 3 Jpeg's .
[Code]...
and so on for each image....I have tried to explain this as well as I possibly can. I just wanna know if this is possible or if there is a simple way of doing it
i have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.
By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed. So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.
I am making a page where the owner of the website can upload an image and it will show the images uploaded on the page. I've got an upload system, it uploads the image to a folder. PHP sends the locations of the images to AS3.
The string AS3 is getting from PHP is: Code: .....
I also have a variable counting the amount of images in the folder and flash is receiving that one too. How do I show the images on the page? I know how to show them on the page but I have to make variables myself etc and I want it to do it automatically. I've got this already:
Code: var Times:Number = 0; var loc:String; var loc1:String; var loc2:String; function onComplete4 (event:Event):void{ [Code] .....
I'm not looking for text box scrolling!! I want the whole 'stage' / 'page' whatever its called to scroll down. I have lots off different content like text, images, animations etc on there so is this possible? I would prefer just two buttons on the side that will scroll the page up and down with as much content as I want on there.
I want to make a page carousel by fetching images from an XML file. I want the layout of pictures, and the pictures should scroll as i click the next button.
For example, if a site has multiple pages in a section, and you want to send them to the next page that has new images and text, how would you do it? Use dynamic text? Movie clips? Or just send them to anoter frame?
I am using Asp.net/C# to build an application , i have a requirement wherein i need to access webcam from my page and capture images of users. So i am trying to achieve this by creating flash file .
I have a working MVC project.I want to include a page which displays images from database, in FULL SCREEN MODE.How do i go about this? Flash? SilverLight?
I do have a set of images (lets say 1,2,3,4 and 5) in an html page. what I want is once the html page is reloaded, the order of the sliding should change randomly (from 1,2,3,4 and 5) to (4,5,3,4,5...)for example.
I'm debugging a flash website that do a request to an php file named upload.php to upload some images to the server. The problem i'm having that debugging it with Firebug the request to that page is throwing a 406 Not Acceptable status code and is not saving the images.
Post Data: This website runs well on the staging server but in production server this process of the image upload fails. I only can assume that a change to apache configuration / php must be done.
I have problem. My website works fine when it is in server and Iam opening it via IP or typing localhost/, but when iam opening index.html file it shows that active X is blocked, but when I enable it, web page wont load futher then 0% preloader, why is that?
I would like to embed this flash file within an HTML Page. User finds my page on a google search. The domain is **here.com once the user clicks on the link, it tries to load the "gethere" page but immediately forwards them to another site. I found this code but I am unsure of how to use it.URl..
Is the a script out there that can load a web page only time when the button is click. I don't want the page to reload when the button is continuosly clicked. if the page is already open and they click on the same button, i don't want the page to reload since it is already open.
