ActionScript 3.0 :: Load Multiple MC Into UI Loader?

Oct 15, 2009

I have a array of names corresponding to buttons selected the names allow me to load specific MC's in to a UI Loader in a new Flash movie by using SharedObject. My problem is that I have quite a few buttons but I'm only loading the MC's of the ones that were selected and I don't know how to load multiple MC's in to one Loader. Kind of like a gallery of thumbnails but the order depends on what items have been selected to show.Can anyone please explain how I could load each MC?this is how I am loading my array and thensome how I need to add these to a loader.

Code:
var selectedButtons:Array = loadButtons();
for each( var buttonName:String in selectedButtons )

ActionScript 3.0 :: Load Multiple Images Into Loader?

Oct 15, 2009

Basically my aim is to use SharedObject to save the basically what I am doing is I have a list of buttons each has a name which when clicked the name is added to an array which is stored in a SharedObject. In another movie clip I am calling back the SharedObject and using the array information to display the images corresponding to the name in the array. And I got everything working except I don't know how I can load my images in. Because the same images are not always selected it means that I can't just load each image to a specific Loader because then I would end up with blank loaders.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loader Class To Load In Multiple External SWFs?

Mar 9, 2009

In AS3 i am using the Loader class to load in multiple external SWFs (AVM1), each of which has a short animation which automatically plays when the swf is I obviously cannot control the timeline of these (i can't use local connection etc) but would like to load in the *.swf files, so they're in memory then add them to the stage when requested. the problem is that if i load them enmass. then use addChild when they are called, they have already played through and animated pre the addChild command.

(I cannot edit the swfs at all, and would rather not load them on demand at runtime)

ActionScript 3.0 :: Multiple SWF Load - Keeping A Reference To The Loader And The Classes Holding The Loaders

Jul 31, 2009

I'm loading a bunch of SWFs at the same time. I'm using a custom class to do the loading. Most of the time they all load OK, however occasionally one or two will be unloaded (I can see that in the console) before we get to the Event.COMPLETE. The ProgressEvents are all fine - I can see them loading, but then boom - they're unloaded.

I've done a bit of digging around and discovered that this may be a bug in the Loader class where if you are using multiple instances of the class then sometimes one or more will be Garbage Collected before they finish loading and are therefore unloaded. I've tried keeping a reference to the loader and the classes holding the loaders and I'm still having the problem. The solution is to queue the loads and load each swf in order which isn't a problem, just a bit irritating.

ActionScript 3.0 :: ADDED Event In Loader.load And Loader.loadBytes

Sep 13, 2010

I got this very strange behavior from FlashPlayer debugger 10.1 r82. When I call loader.load method, no ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. But if I open the file and call loader.loadBytes instead, an ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. I suspect the ADDED event is dispatched because the content is being set as the child of Loader object, but why in the other case it is not dispatched?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Load External SWFs, AddChild(Loader) Versus AddChild(Loader.content), Etc?

Jul 29, 2009

I have a main "shell" swf which, by clicking several buttons, will load/unload various external swfs into a Placeholder_mc which resides on the main timeline in Shell.swf In the documentation and tutorials I've seen a couple different methods, and I'm not sure I quite understand the difference, or at least the reason you would use one over the other...In the 1st method, you can just add the Loader object using the addChild() method:

Code:

var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
var myURLRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("ExternalFileA.swf");
myLoader.load(myURLRequest);
Placeholder_mc.addChild(myLoader);

This will apparently add myLoader to the display list once it has completely loaded.The 2nd method, you supposedly can add the Loader.content; however, it appears you can only do this once the content has completed loading, so you need to incorporate an event handler with the contentLoaderInfo object:

Code:

var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
var myURLRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("ExternalFileA.swf");
myLoader.load(myURLRequest);

[code]....

What are the pros/cons of adding the entire Loader object, as opposed to the Loader.content and vice versa?

The problem I am experiencing is that each object loads fine once but objects that are the same with different x and y values are placed at the last location that was set in the loop.

for(var i=0; i < LoadedXml.resources.resource.(@type==LoadedXml.resources.resource.@ty pe[fileCount]).@count; i++)  sprite.name = LoadedXml.resources.resource.@type[fileCount] + i;  sprite.x = LoadedXml.objects.object.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loader Technique For Multiple Dynamic Content?

Jun 11, 2009

Would like to find out what are the techniques people are using for pre loading multiple dynamic content for example using Loader.load()I understand if i just had one Loader.load() then I can listen to it with contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, callback)But when I have multiple Loaders, what technique is used for ensuring all the content is loaded before playing the swf?Currently I use an counter such a that on each Event.COMPLETE from different Loaders, I increment that counter until I have register all the COMPLETE events. But I think this is certainly not a good method?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Use Multiple Instances Of The Loader Class With One URLRequest?

Apr 21, 2010

I'm creating an image loader with a specific effects that requires layering multiple masks over the same movieclip. in the timeline it looks like this:

What I want to do is add an instance of the loaded image into each of these masked movieclips. I'm trying this:

create a new instance of the loader and store it in an Array

Code:
for (var j=0; j<allThumbs.length(); j++) {
imgLoader = new Loader();
img_arr.push(imgLoader);

[Code]....

The only way I've been able to get this to work is to create an entirely new Loader object for each movieclip instance. Doing it this way loads the same image 4 times... that's not acceptable.

how I can store the image that is loaded and reuse it in the different movieclip instances?

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Assets - Multiple Loader Sprite Instance

Jul 27, 2010

I'm loading some external assets with the Loader class. I've done this a lot over the years, but seem to be coming across a problem I haven't had before. I want to display two instances on the stage at the same time of a .png I'm loading externally. If I use the Loader instance's contentLoaderInfo.content object in more than one sprite, the bitmap just "moves" from the first instantiated sprite to the second. I've tried duplicating the sprite with Senocular's duplicateDisplayObject class, but for some reason, it's not working right. But shouldn't I be able to use multiple instances of an imported bitmap like this just as if it were in the library of the .fla? If so, what do I need to do?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flex 1 Swf Loader, Multiple Swfs Importing From Shared Library?

Dec 15, 2009

The flash swfs import assets from a separate flash swf used as a shared library. I'm using 1 swf loader in flex to keep 1 flash swf loaded at a time.Loading the first swf works fine, but loading subsequent swfs generates an error in importing from the shared library swf.

Here's an example of an error:

"ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable sharedApps is not defined."
