May 11, 2008I'm using LoadVars to load variable data into flash from a .txt file.Pretty simple - when uploaded onto a server, I can see the data loaded but no one else can, not even other accounts on my computer!Could this be a CHMOD permission problem? Aug 18, 2009Experience with Flash: very very little (very) Version: CS4 Operating system: XP Pro. I was given an FLV file to display on the web. I imported the file into flash and exported it as an html file.
The movie worked great online, but then I was asked to save a copy of the movie on a CD to send it to a client - I saved all the files in a folder. I tested it on my computer and I was able to view the movie, but when the client loaded the html page, all they saw was a bar (that has the volume & play buttons) and a green line that scrolls across it. Here's what it looks like
Some people can load the html file and view the movie and others cannot (on their desktop). On some computers I tried updating the flash player (I removed the existing one first), but it still did not work.
As much as I'd like to be, I am not a Flash developer - I just use it to the extent that I must (the nature of my job) Did I provide enough information for someone to be able to tell what the issue is and how to resolve it?

Nov 7, 2011I have a mx:html component in a AIR Desktop Application that load an external webpage into it...this webpage has an iframe in it and the iframe load (obviously) another page...I can't figure out how to get the code of the iframe...If I try to get the webpage content I only retrive the start page like:
File webpage.html
<html>
....
<iframe src="http://host/framepage.html">content default</iframe>
....
[code]...
It's like as the second page is not loaded, but it's actually be loaded and rendered in the browser window (i tried also using a button so I can delay the search for the iframe content.

Oct 25, 2011I have a mc with the instance name of 'resume'. When clicked, I want a resume to download to the user's desktop. I'm currently doing this:

I haven't put this on the server yet, so I'm just testing it locally, thus the url request not having an actual url address. Is this correct? I use this same code, roughly, for the loading of external links... and images etc. When I test it, the pdf doesn't pop up.
Professional :: Shared Objects - Save The SOL File To Desktop
Dec 28, 2011I am a psychology student and have the need to edit a flash game for use in a project. Having no programming experience, this is proving to be an issue! Basically I contacted the authors of a study for a copy of a driving game that records data to an external file (I think this is where shared objects come in?). Unfortunately, I cannot find the output file anywhere on my machine (I am running Windows 7 - have looked in the appropriate directories). After downloading a trial version of CS3, I have edited the screens I needed but have not been able to understand the code. I have located the code for the shared object and was wondering if anyone know how to make it save the SOL file to my desktop. Here is the code I think is appropriate:

Android :: Actionscript 3 - Send Video File To Desktop In AIR?
Dec 12, 2011I'm building a mobile AIR application that connects to my desktop AIR application. In the mobile application, I'm recording video with my Android device with flash.media.CameraUI. This works perfectly, but now I'd like to send this file to my desktop application so I can do stuff with it. I've got a server written in AS3 running on my desktop (the application itself) listening to AMF messages on a certain port. I can send data through sockets, I've already tested it with accelerometer data, so that's not the issue.
What would be the best way to send video to my desktop AIR app? I've tried multiple things already; serializing using registerClassAlias, ByteArrays.

Aug 11, 2009I recently began working on a large game. The main swf that all the levels load from also acts as a runtime library. When the MovieClipLoader loads the next level, if that level imports any mc's from the main swf then it won't load. It works fine straight from the HDD though.
I could really use a hand. I've used up most of my brain power figuring out the source of the problem (there's a lot of stuff to sift through).
I mis-spoke before. The MCL will load level.swf, I see the progress bar and OnLoadInit executes which should mean that the first frame of the level was initialized, but nothing appears.

Aug 14, 2010I have my UiLoader up and my buttons on the main stage. when I saved it to my unit 3 folder which is in my poral folder in flash. I bring it up to test it and I click a button and come up with an error message. Is there a way to fix this.

StageWebViewBridge Load And Communicate With Online Page
Dec 9, 2011Has anyone been successful in using StageWebViewBridge to load and communicate with an online web page? [URL]. The documentation and examples offered are all configured around working with local files (which work successfully) and although the instruction to 'include the StageWebViewBridge.js' file within the loaded html page sounds very straight forward, sadly it doesn't seem to work.
For anyone wanting to replicate my test I have uploaded the files here: [URL]. I'm basically loading the 'ExampleCallBackFuncions.html' file from a web server. I've included the StageWebViewBridge.js file like so...

When I test the movie I get the correct setup output messages

And the html page appears in the viewport. But on pressing the button which should send a message to Actionscript I get the following error messages:

Jun 29, 2009im loading some RSS from twitter.. it works fine when i'm testing local, but when customer uploads it on 3rd part server, it doesent work. It's most likely a flash security issue. Is it possible to make a serverscript file that outputs the RSS to flash? Our server does have both ASP and PHP directories.. so any will do.

Mar 1, 2009Setup: I have an html page with an embedded flash object. The object is an "index.swf" with an empty movie clip on it. External swf's load onto the index swf via the empty movie clip when buttons are pushed.
Problem: On my test server in dreamweaver, the swf's load fine. When I put them on my server and test it online only the index swf loads. not the initial swf or any of the other swf's.

Nov 18, 2009I am making a flash site where one of my pages loads an external swf. In this external swf I have sub pages with links. My problem is when I visit a page from this external swf, and then go to a page from my main website (clicking my main time line buttons) and then go back to the page with the external swf i was previously on, the page would go to the last page i was on, instead of refreshing it back to the main frame of the external swf.
