ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Records Into DataGrid Gradually - Fade Out / In

Apr 7, 2009

I've been searching all over for an answer to this, but have not had much luck. I have an .xml file that loads its data into a DataGrid. However, I don't want all the data to load up at once. I would like it to load the first five records, and after x amount of seconds fade out and fade in with the next five records.

Flex :: PHP Reset DataGrid Records From WebService Results

Aug 8, 2011

I'm using Flex 4.5 with PHP Zend webservice framework. Basically, I have 2 DataGrids that can drag and drop between each other. At the initializing of the component, I call a webservice to populate the top DataGrid. Then the user can drag rows to the bottom DataGrid that get processed and saved later on. My problem is that I want to have a reset button (or cancel button), that will take the user to a new component in the ViewStack, and if they return to the component with the DataGrids, the top DataGrid has the original records and the bottom DataGrid is empty.

I just can't figure out a good way to repopulate the top DataGrid. I can clear it, but it doesn't seem to refresh with the original data. I've tried unsuccessfully to call the webservice again and set the dataprovider to the new lastResult token. I've also tried unsuccessfully to copy the results of the initial webservice call to an ArrayCollection and simply set a Bindable variable to that ArrayCollection (or a backup of that ArrayCollection holding original records).

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading JPGs - How To Get Container To Fade In

I'm loading a txt file that I use to load jpg's (no PHP):
PHP Code:

It works like a charm, but now I want the "container" to fade in the jpg's.

container.loadMovie(url);

function fadein() {

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Image To Flash - Fade In Time

Aug 10, 2009

I have a piece of working code. I'm loading an XML file full of images to flash and using them in a slideshow. The code works fine, but here's my issue. The first time an image loads, the fade-in time is about half as long as it should be. I've reduced the image resolution and drug out the fade in time so it's not terribly noticable. But I still see it. Once the code has cycled through the entire file of images, it starts over and repeats. At this time, (being the 2nd run through) the images fade in exactly how they're supposed to. I'm guessing that once the images have been loaded in the cache, there is no download time etc. [URL].

Here's the code:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
var myTween:Tween;
var xmlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("imageData.xml");
[Code] .....

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Swfs, Alpha Effect Fade In/Out?

May 17, 2002

I have set up a site I am building...real basic I know.rolling text boxes).So Here's my question...when you use the load movie command...in this case, I am using buttons on my main nav (level 0) to fire the load movie command for subpage swfs located on level 1...is there a script that I can write that would make the level 1 swf fade (dissolve) on using the _alpha command instead of just appearing (from thin air...like a cut in videospeak)???. Is there a way to create a similar transition for unloading the swf as well?

List Database Records Using Amf Php

Jul 7, 2009

I'm trying to list in flash, several records that come from my database. I'm not talking about a datagrid or anything to fancy. I just want to list the values inside text boxes. (to allow editing). I already have fetch an array of records that come from the database, here:

[Code]...

My question is: How can I display several records, instead of only 1? Should I change the call to, instead of 1, uses a variable? But where would that variable comme from? Then I should loop again the addChild method for each child of form2 that needs to have different records on each of them?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Fade Out Effect Before Loading External Movie Clip?

Jun 4, 2009

Whenever someone clicks on a nav button, the corresponding .swf file loads into a blank movie clip I have on my home page. What I'd like to do is have the content on the current page fade out before the content on the new page fades in. I've used Flash for years, but this is the first web site I've built entirely in Flash, and I don't quite know how to approach this. I'm assuming ActionScript would be the easiest and most efficient way to produce this effect, but I don't know how to go about doing it.  Is there a way to tell the current movie to go to a certain frame in the movie and play it before loading the next external movie clip?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Alpha Keeps Gradually Increasing

Apr 1, 2009

I have a MovieClip, "my_mc", that is hidden and shown when you MouseOver a grey block that is on the stage, similar to a tool tip. Inside of this MovieClip is a TextField, "my_textbox", and another MovieClip, "my_box". "my_box" is underneath the textbox and will hold the graphics for the tooltip.

What I am trying to do is add a Sprite to "my_box" and set it's alpha to 50%, or 0.5 AS3. Well, I accomplished doing this, however, when you Mouse Out then Mouse Over again, the alpha increases by 50%, to what seems 75% alpha now, instead of staying at 50%. Do it again and it goes up another 50%, so on and so forth.

I have tried setting the "my_box" alpha, as well as the alpha of the Sprite that is drawn inside, and it still does it. Also another piece of info, when I trace the alpha, I get 0.5, even though it appears to be solid red on screen, after a few MouseOver/MouseOuts. The source files are attached, but for those who don't want to download, here is the AS3 code:

ActionScript 1/2 :: Finding Records In A Xml File?

Jun 18, 2009

I am writing a Flash object which will be an on-line quiz. I got most of it working ok, but it reads the questions sequentially from an xml file. I want it to be random. Each record in the xml file has an 'ID' attribute. This is my code that currently reads the questions in sequential order:

var question = new XML();question.ignoreWhite=true;question.load("Questions.xml");
question.onLoad=function(){     question_txt=this.firstChild.childNodes[_root.record].attributes.ques tion;     answer1_txt=this.firstChild.childNodes[_root.record].attributes.answe r1;

[Code]...

There are 300 questions in the xml file. I want to assign a variable with a random number, then look in the xml file for the question which has the ID attribute matching the random number. How do I achieve this?
