ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading URL Within Network Produces Nothing?
Oct 26, 2009
I have a SWF that I am running on a kiosk and the Actionscript is calling a PHP script residing on an internal IP address. As everyone always says, it runs great with the IDE, however when I publish this file and run it, I get nothing. I cannot even output errors and such into a textfield. I'm totally baffled as to how I can debug this.
Code:
//set up request and loader
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://10.25.241.11/custom/test.php");
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
I have a main movie that contains a series of buttons that load different swf files into a loader component.
Each of the secondary movies contains a series of buttons that when clicked load a movie clip with information specific to that button.
Nothing earth shattering, right...
When I preview the secondary movie it runs as I would expect.
When I bring it into the main movie via the loader component and click any of the buttons to load the secondary movie's movie clip I receive the following errors[code]...
One application JEE / Flex 4 running on a tomcat, inside my Flex layer I have a iFrame passing a url to an ip of my internal network (http:url....) which is another application running within an industrial PLC.When access this app from within my internal network works fine, but when I try to access this iFrame to an external network in my home for example have a timeout error onhttp:[url].........
I believe this error occurs because the flex client is trying to run this url as I was in a internal network.Is there any way to run this url from an external network?
I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL]. That swf tries to access a flv file on a network drive: \sub.mydomain.comdatamediamymovie.flv I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when I try to load that flv file. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash I the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single backslahses. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the network drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that netwrok as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, but that doesnt work. But it actually works in plugin version 10.1.. but not in 10.2 or 10.0. How is that for weird. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks.
I have an activeX control for a network camera when it is installed on my PC. I want to use that network camera in actionscript by loading its activeX control, but don't know how to do that.
I monitor (and log to server) most user errors in our flash game. Quite frequently I see security errors related to trying to make requests to a cross-domain URL (usually the Facebook Graph API). 99% of our players can make these graph API calls with no issues.What I think is going on is that the client makes a request, but fails to load the crossdomain.xml file. I don't quite know how AS3 handles this in the case of a failure to load the crossdomain policy file...will it retry for every URLRequest made until it succeeds in loading it, or does it just give up forever?
This isse occurs in flash player 10.2 but not in 10.1. Im sorry if my rusty english is making this hard to understand. I have an issue that causes my hair to turn grey. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks share from http. I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL] That swf tries to access/stream/load a flv file on a network share unc path:[URL] I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. I catn even load an image from that share. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single back slashes. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that network as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, I can provide you with more info if you want to.
I have a huge SWF. Instead of loading every frame and playing from the beginning with loadMovie(), is it possible to load only say frames 100 to 120? Also, if I have a pause button, how do I make loadMovie() stop loading to conserve network bandwidth?
The attached piece of code produces strange results. When first run we get this result -- why does the first trace output include the XML elements, and the second only the text?
I'm having trouble getting any of my adobe software to produce a drop shadow without pixelating the image. I'm working with FL but I've tried PS and IL and everytime it ends up looking like an 8 bit graphic. It happens with all the preset effects. The laptop I'm using has a 4 gigs of RAM and a core duo with a 512 MB graphics card How can I set my software to produce the highest quality effects?
I use C# to read a string (BinaryReader.ReadString()) from the socket stream. But the problem is that flex doesn't writes the string in suitable format, so C# will be able to read that. C# reads a 7 bit encoded integer which indicates the length of the string, and just then reads the string. But flex doesn't writes a string in this format (I use socket.WriteUTF(), and even socket.WriteUTFBytes() didn't work), so C# can't read the string. Here's a little information of how C# reads/writes a string from a socket stream: [URL]
I am having memory problems when adding & removing children. Here is a brief overview of what I'm doing:I'm ading children to a VBox component:the structure of the children is:
Code: <mx:Canvas> <mx:Image/> <mx:Text/>
[code]....
All remove the children, BUT I am getting memory leaking, especially using the second method! If I don't add the TextField child to the UIComponent I don't seem to experience any memory problems!
I try to write an xml object via AIR with FileStream.writeObjectI'm doing like this:
var _file:File = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("test.xml"); var _xml:XML = new XML("<data><name>Testname</name><email>test@test.de</email><time>1331290186848</time></data>");
This code works fine if the timeline is moving forward through the .flv file. However, the going in reverse produces choppy results. The choppyness seems uniform, as in, it's always choppy and always the same intensity. [code]...
I have a flex app and I am adding a callback method like this:
private function init():void { ExternalInterface.addCallback( "playVideo", playVideo ); }
[code].....
However if I uncomment and run the alert first. I get no error and it works perfectly.My first thought was that the alert was buying time until the script could execute, so i tried to run the script inside a setTimeout() but did not work.
For some reason, the same code works now, without any problem at all. I don't know what happened, or why, but I no longer have this problem Here's the original post: To put simply, I created a MovieClip, put it with addChild() to stage, and when I tried to call this piece of code:
getUser was already in UserService.java. I just created getUser2 and it's identical to getUser. When I try to call getUser2, i get the "Cannot invoke method" error. question: Do I need to specify getUser2 in some other file? like in some configuration file? if so, which one and how do I do it.
We recently upgraded our network to Leopard and Flash to CS3,and since then, I can't publish to a network drive.The reason I need to do this is that we're on a network where all our project files are on the server, and we work directly from the server. With previous versions of Flash and the system, I was able to work on a Flash file on the server and publish or test to the same place. Now I need to copy my flash file to my local computer in order to publish or test.If I try, I get this error: "Error creating Flash movie file.Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive.Also, check that the file name is not too long." Neither of those are the case.
I've got a Flash Banner worked with AS3.0. It loads XML and then load the Jpegs. At the beginning, the SWF accesses the files under the same directory. So the code goes like
I just installed FMS 4.5 w/ built in apache on Win2008R2 - accepting all defaults. Samples streams play fine when playing on the server. I copied the sample directory and put on a client on the network. I modified the stream URL using the server's IP address. I also modified the manifest files so that localhost was replaced with the server's IP. When I attempt to view in the sample player I get the following:
I've recently started using FDT, for a while I was using FlashDevelop, it had a really handy feature in Compiler options where you can set UseNetworkServices to false which would stop the compiled swf from connecting to the internet and became very useful for running standalone flash apps without security warnings when loading in an external xml file etc.
Just created a banner for our intranet and I have a getURL inside the flash which should open an html file on the local network. The paths:\networkcompetworkfolderfile.htmlIt works from my computer but when we put it on the intranet it doesn't.
I'm FMS beginner (server side newbie in general)... I installed FMS 3.5 (Development) on my computer which is inside of local network. Now I try to connect to rtmp service from another machine in same network using my computer's IP as I used to while connecting to my apache, but it is worthless. Everything works fine on my computer.
I would like to list all network shares but have no idea where to even begin my search, I assume that it has something to do with Samba etc., but really some guidance would be very useful.
I will be using Adobe AIR 2.5 - so I assume I have access to that sort of information, though I will be using the PlayBook from BlackBerry to access the network which has a full AIR implementation.
What is the reason Flash Builder 4's Network Monitor does not support applications that were created using pure ActionScript and Library projects? It seems to work only for Flex projects.
I developed a flash app and i need the functionality when I click on a sprite I want to open a web page in browser for example [URL]. I use flex sdk 4.5 and I changed the use-network tag from false to true in flex-config.xml. But when i compile my project and load the swf in browser I get everything blank. I tried also to use html page with swf embeded but same result
