My video player plays H.264 videos.
But some of my Quick Time movies are not playing audio. Only video is working.

i have a flash movie that has a clock , slideshow and text scroller that plays all day in my resaurant. I want to change it so that it plays a movie with special offers in the mornings, then plays a movie saying we're reopening at 4.15 in the afternoon and then play another movie wit clock/slideshow inteh evening. How can i set my flash code to play these 3 different movies at the specified times automatically.

after 1 min 45s move to frame 3
after 1 min 51s move to frame 4
after 2 min 47s move to frame 5
after 3 min 15s move to frame 6
How would I code this or what would be the easiest way to do it??
I just exported a flash project to create a Quicktime Movie and there are artifacts in the Quick Time Movie which do NOT exist in the flash project or the SWF file. Would anyone be able to explain why the ghosting is appearing in the movie file?
View 4 RepliesWhen I press command + option + enter, the graphics looks very good but when I look at the quick time mov I saved, its so bad. It's fine if I 'drag' the quick time window to the smallest but when I look at it in full screen mode, the picture is so bad... What can I do to improve the quality?
View 2 RepliesI have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer
View 3 RepliesI think it is loading the whole audio first into the swf, but I would like to get confirmation from someone more knowledgible.[code]I want it to stream the audio when the button is clicked only so that 100 of these swf will not slow down a whole webpage from loading.[code]I only start getting concerned when I noticed that on FF and Chrome, the page loads really quick but when I open the page in IE, it takes a very long time for the page to appear.
View 3 RepliesI have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I've been using these flash mp3 buttons, Wimpy Buttons, from [URL] for playing audio samples of cd tracks on a website for a record label. If there's more than 15 of them on a page, the audio breaks and won't play from any of them in any browser except for IE. I've noticed this in revisions 124 and 115 of Flash 9. I downgraded to revision 47, and it restored the functionality. I've tested this on multiple computers. Some XP and some Vista. On Macs it seems to be working fine with revision 124 in different browsers. I've also noticed this problem on other websites that are using various different Flash movies for playing audio--when there's more than 15 Flash movies on the page, the audio breaks.

View 1 RepliesI have 15 movie clips that play one at a time. When the first one calls the second movie clip there is a short space (black screen) between the two which I have to eliminate. I tried loading the second one half way thru the first movie then tell it to play when the first movie is over, but when I do that you can see a disturbance in the first movies performance when the second one is pre-loaded. Is there a way around this so I can make 15 movies run seamlessly? They are separate .swf files!
View 1 Repliesapologies if this seems like a redundant question... i've been reading through all the turorials and forum threads i can find, and am just confused at to what exactly i need to do next.... my first time trying to use preloaders but am finding i need them in order to make my project run smoothly.... my situation: want to preload 5 swf files into my main movie, and have them at the ready to play when i want them to (either by an onEnterFrame or onPress).
i started working with some preload array script from Scotty i found on one of the threads, but elsewhere i've seen info about putting extra frames into the uploading swfs and am unsure what i need to do with this or how it would fit in with the below code. right now, when i try to play one of the uploaded swf files nothing is happening, and i'm guess my code is wrong there too, but don't know what to put....

I have several movies that will be loaded into a main movie. I am loading the movies when the user chooses to open each movie. The problem is that then the user has to wait until each movie loads. Is there any way to change this?
View 1 RepliesHere is one of those problems that seems like it should work because it is soo basic in implemintation, but just doesn't....The trace in this code works, but the mcs that I want to play just wont move. I have a stop action on its own keyframe within each movie on frame 1. If I take the stop action out all the mcs will play/loop just fine.All of the code is on an actions layer, then each mc is within its respective container. I even put a test mc on the main level and it doesn't work.This is one of the instances where, teaching yourself flash is great because you learn exactly what you are interested in, however because of the lack of structured or formal training, the basics often escape you.
EDIT : Oh, and because I can usually solve something by tracing everything out...in this case trace has failed to shed light on theissue,

View 2 RepliesI am creating a website that teaches kids about the about the brain and I am creating a website very familiar to this one, [URL]. I created one flash file and drew the background for where the text will display. Next I created several movie clips for each of the brain parts and I placed an invisible button over each of these movies, e.g., I told the button, "cerebellum_button" to play the movie "cerebellum_mc." which includs text.
I feel that my code is redundant because I am having to create an invisible button for each animated movie clip which plays a movie clips with text. Is there a way that I can centralize all of the text in the project then call it from different buttons? My aim is to have the user roll over the brain part, have it animate, and have it display the text that explains what that brain part does.

I have gotten my movies to play at random from external files but the links that where coded into the random swf files no longer work. could there be an action script issue? The random swf files are as3 and the player file is as2????

Time scaling movies in After Effects is easy, but how would I do that in Flash? Example My movie's 60 seconds. I want to play the entire movie in 30 seconds. I want to play the entire movie in 120 seconds. How do I rescale my movie using actionScript 3.0. My movies are probably going to all be the same length and frame rate, if that makes a difference.
Example Preloaders have elements effected by percentage and scale. I want to do this to movie clips, but have a defined total.

I have a rotating menu that when clicked rotates and loads in swf movies, OnClick.
The problem I seem to be having is that because the swf movies load in on click it seems to be causing the rotation of the menu not to run smooth.
Question: Is it possible to get the swf movies to load in once the action of the click has completed its action. some kind of 2 second delay before the movies load in??
what happens: you can click or mouse scroll through the menu, when you click, the action repositions the selected Item (ActiveItem) in the center and resizes larger. this works great, is it possible after this action is complete to then load in the swf movies???

I am new here and i am desperate to have my problem solved please. I have an html page with 2 swf movies that should be playing at the same time (one shows logo of a company and the other shows at the same time the company's products). the problem is althought they are synchronized when played on my pc, when loading via internet they doen't play at same time because one is much bigger than the other and takes more time to load and play. so i thought of making a dummy swf movie that loads both swf movies and make them play at same time.

Each swf loads just fine, but the audio from the previously loaded swf start playing again, so there's a layered audio mishmash.
im trying to play an audio file through 2 certain scenes in my project. for some reason i cant manage to do it, only to stream in through the entire project.

The problem with this code is, I can only run it while it's on a live server (the link is obtained from a MySQL database via XML), so I can't tell if any error when it's being run. Then again, I can't see how the above code can lead to any problems.
Update: With the latest Adobe AIR 3 Beta, Adobe added this functionality to their SDK.

I made a simple audio player following a tutorial on Youtube. It seems pretty good, except that the tutorial just starts and stops the sound file. I need it to be playing and for it to pause and resume.As it stands now, the music does play, but the pause button does nothing.Here is the script:

I have a big problem that the audio of the external swf keeps on playing on top of other swf after clicking another button.
I have about 22 external swf files that are called up after clicking on their respective button. However, the audio keeps playing on top of the new swf that is selected. It thought the "removeChild(loader);" would work but it doesn't remove the audio.
I don't know if this may be an issue, but along with every swf that plays there are 3-4 .flv videos that are included in the swf. I have included the code.
