View 9 RepliesI am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.
View 4 RepliesI have a flash movie that moves ahead in the animation based off the audio. I've broken the movie up into a few scenes so that I can keep things really easy for myself. However because I'm using the same function to read the audio in the different scenes I'm getting a duplicate function error. Original Function that works great in the individual scenes but fails when played together:

I have a sound control file that works great, however, I cannot seem to get the audio to start playing upon entry. I have tried the using the code:: samplesound.play();and it plays but when you click the play button, the audio repeats and the sound file that started upon entry do not respond to the controls.URL...

View 2 RepliesI am brand new to flash and AS3, and everything else code related. I've built a simple file with text and audio. The audio is an external file, and it plays with a mouse click. Everything tests fine in flash. I also placed the file in Dreamweaver and previewed in a browser - that's working. But... I've now uploaded the file to a live site. The text shows up but it doesn't play.
View 11 RepliesFor a class project I have to make kinetic typography and so I need text to go along with some audio from a movie (in Flash). Every time I press enter to preview what I've done and what I have to do next, the audio starts and doesn't stop till it's done and this is a little over a minute long, and it's really annoying. If I don't start from the first keyframe, I can't even hear the audio, it doesn't play if I play from the middle. How do I press enter to play and have it stop when I press enter again? I can load the swf by CTRL+ENTER but then I can't see what frame I'm on and what frame I want. :|
View 4 RepliesI have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer
View 3 RepliesI just started using CS4. I have one problem with audio played from timeline in multiple scenes. The first 2 sceense work fine but the 3rd one has problem. The audio would pick up the last brief second of the audio before the current one and then plays the current audio. The pick up includes the last second of the last audio of the previous scene or the clip from the current scene.
If I copy all the frames in the problem scene into a new file, audio plays perfectly.
Have anyone seen something like this and what is the cure?
I think it is loading the whole audio first into the swf, but I would like to get confirmation from someone more knowledgible.[code]I want it to stream the audio when the button is clicked only so that 100 of these swf will not slow down a whole webpage from loading.[code]I only start getting concerned when I noticed that on FF and Chrome, the page loads really quick but when I open the page in IE, it takes a very long time for the page to appear.
View 3 RepliesI simply don't understand why now at the end of my project, the last 5 frames are giving me such trouble. I have five scenes. The first scene plays fine. Second scene plays fine until just the end, then it grabs audio from the third, fourth and fifth scenes and starts playing them. Here is the site: [URL] (it is a site for children in Swedish) if you click the 3rd button to the right (3 Delan) you will notice that the sound starts truncating and then starts grabbing and placing into scenes before the next scene.

Scene 1 is a plane animation while the 2nd one is a time based animation that depends on the time in your computer. The movie should be played scene 1 first then scene 2. I have tried the gotoAndplay AS script but it doesnt work.

Each swf loads just fine, but the audio from the previously loaded swf start playing again, so there's a layered audio mishmash.
I've been trying to play an external sound file in Flash and failing miserably.[code]...
The problem with this code is, I can only run it while it's on a live server (the link is obtained from a MySQL database via XML), so I can't tell if any error when it's being run. Then again, I can't see how the above code can lead to any problems.
Update: With the latest Adobe AIR 3 Beta, Adobe added this functionality to their SDK.

I made a simple audio player following a tutorial on Youtube. It seems pretty good, except that the tutorial just starts and stops the sound file. I need it to be playing and for it to pause and resume.As it stands now, the music does play, but the pause button does nothing.Here is the script:

I have a big problem that the audio of the external swf keeps on playing on top of other swf after clicking another button.
I have about 22 external swf files that are called up after clicking on their respective button. However, the audio keeps playing on top of the new swf that is selected. It thought the "removeChild(loader);" would work but it doesn't remove the audio.
I don't know if this may be an issue, but along with every swf that plays there are 3-4 .flv videos that are included in the swf. I have included the code.

I am using red5server and flash cs3 and as3.0 and windows xp. i am trying to capture audio when user clicks on button start. next i will keep capturing for a maximum of 10 seconds or user clicks on stop button.once the maxtime ie 10 seconds reached or user clicks on stop then capturing will be stopped. my application working till this point.but if he clicks on play button then it should play the captured audio. View 2 Replieswhenever I set my sound to stream and continue to make a movie with multiple scenes. The audio and video get disgustingly out of sync sometimes even off by 30 seconds. I just started an animation its only 10 seconds long with two scenes and the AV is already off by about 5 seconds. Ive worked around this by avoiding scenes altogether but i really don't want to have another 5000 frame scene. I discovered this problem in Flash MX and Im quite annoyed that it still has't been fixed 3 years later!

The thing is that these 3 external swf's have embeded flv's. when switching between the swf's with the buttons, im using vid1loader.unload();the only thing is that while the video switched to the other video like it should, the audio keeps running on any number of videos(swf's) that are loaded. My question is how do you stop the audio when using simple Loader and URLRequest to load the swf's?
View 1 RepliesI have rather large project that contains several swfs and flvs with audio. The project is published in Captivate (which renders a main swf file). After the preloader screen, a lot of the audio files start playing at once at the beginning of the presentation. I have tried inserting an swf (1st Captivate slide) with AS2.0 command "stopAllSounds". It works as intended and stops all the cacophony. But then, none of my audio plays throughout the 7 minute project. Does anyone know how I can restart the audio?

I have a section of a site that has a voice over when you get to a page. I have a play/pause button that works fine, and plays and pauses the audio voice over. I have about 9 other buttons on this page that all have 'SoundMixer.stopAll();' in order to stop the embedded audio. This works the first time you click a button, but any button after that restarts the embedded audio.
Is there a way to make it so that Flash knows not to restart the embedded audio?
Do I need to make a sound variable and set it to 'false'. I am not sure what to do, or how to do it.
