Professional :: Improve The Quality Of The Quick Time Movie File?

Apr 10, 2011

When I press command + option + enter, the graphics looks very good but when I look at the quick time mov I saved, its so bad. It's fine if I 'drag' the quick time window to the smallest but when I look at it in full screen mode, the picture is so bad... What can I do to improve the quality?

Improve Quality Of QuickTime Movie Exported From Flash?

Oct 7, 2009

I have designed a Flash animation for a client who has asked me to also provide it in a format which can be used in a film he wants to produce in Apple Final Cut Pro.  I assumed the best format would be QuickTime but whenever I export the Flash file in to QuickTime the quality of the film is awful - the graphics leave fragments of themselves behind as they move (if that makes sense?!) and the overall quality isn't very crisp.

Professional :: Camtasia Studio Movie Parameters: Quality = "best" Instead Of Quality = "high"?

Sep 30, 2011

When publishing a project from Camtasia Studio 7, the params list includes a setting for quality. But instead of the usual "high" value, it sets it to "best". I Google'd and searched these forums but had no luck finding any definitive explanation if these two settings are equivalent. Can anybody enlighten? This topic also spurred another question, does the quality default to the highest value if the parameter value is invalid?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Improve Video Quality For Recorded Video?

Nov 16, 2011

I am developing a simple application using flex which records a video with my webcam and stores it to the media server and then i pull it in order to show it.The problem is that the quality of the video played is blurry while it is displayed with the same size as captured. I have played a lot with the values in the functionsbelow where i attach my cam to the netstream objec: cam.setMode(640, 480, 25);cam.setQuality(0,90);and the result is an flv video which i play later on but with not a good quality. The server is on my pc so i dont have transfer delays because of low connection. Whatcan i do to have a better output? i use netstream play method to play the video and i do the following

video = new Video(640,480);
video.attachNetStream(ns);

Professional :: Export To Movie Is HORRIBLE Quality

Nov 29, 2010

my flash movie looks great when it is in it's .swf format. However, when I use the export to .avi option it comes out as REALLY horrible quality. Exporting to quicktime does nothing. I've been looking online and have only found people having the same problems with no solution. I've tried several conversion programs to just convert the swf to avi, but all of them are bad. They're all great in quality but half are fast by a good 30 seconds in sound and the other half replaces my black background to white! People use flash everyday & obviously overcome such a simple problem!

ActionScript 3.0 :: Improve Real Time Graph Performance?

Mar 20, 2011

I'm working on a simple real time graph. The data is polled every 50ms, and each poll translates to a line one pixel wide, (data_point) pixels high. The graph scrolls such that new data is on the right, and the oldest values eventually fall off the left.

My solution is embarassingly brute-force, in that I just use theMC.graphics.clear() and a loop of lineTo()s for every graph refresh. While this displays correctly (and I can control the refresh rate to mitigate the CPU burn), it should be painfully evident why I want to move away from this method.

I want to programatically scroll or pan the entire graph one pixel to the left (and drop the leftmost line), and then just draw one new line on the right, but I can't figure out where to start. Assuming such a thing is possible in AS3, would someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction?

Professional :: Balance Image Quality With Small File Size?

Aug 16, 2011

I need to first express that I'm a fully self-taught Flash designer. No one has ever sat down and tried to explain to me the DOs and DONTs about Flash. I have followed tutorials, books, and anything else I can get my hands on, but never a person. People of Flash seem to be very hard to find, in my personal experience.I am the most comfortable with Photoshop, knowing very little about Illustrator or Fireworks.That said, I have been asked to create a 45KB (yikes!) max file, rotating 3 .jpg images I created from other .jpgs given to me. The images are usually large, so I am given room to compress them for a 300px x 250 px stage.

However, these images are always my biggest culprit for my huge file size. I'll import them in, making them into Graphic Symbols, but nothing seems to prevent the enourmous file size.When given the raw images, I would throw them into Photoshop, make the files the correct 300x250 size. Then I have tried: saving the image at the best resolution in .jpg and .png form, and then I tried saving the images as low-as-I-could-stomach quality. I hardly see a difference with file size when they are imported into Flash and used.I was told to use Fireworks's Optimize function, which I did, but it made my .swf even biggerWhen I have my Flash piece all set up/animted as I want, but I need to replace the bitmap(.jpg/.png) photos, I will:right click on the bitmap to get properties, "upload" the new image to be used, adjust the Quality, having "Allow smoothing" unclicked.

I understand I should make as much of the graphics in Flash as I can, instead of Import, but I am primarily given photographs to use.Seeing what my previous peers have done is mind-puzzling, but they are not around, so I cannot ask them for their advice. Their files are under 45KB and look sharp and amazing:[URL]

ActionScript 2.0 :: Quick Code Fix For Externally Loaded Flash File?

Feb 8, 2007

i have a test website here which has externally loaded files coming into the container on the main index page. the code on the buttons at the top right hand corner have this code on each of them for the externally loaded .swf files to come in:

on (release) {
if (_root.currMovie == undefined) {
_root.currMovie = "contact";
container.loadMovie("contact.swf");

[code].....

and that all works perfectly fine. what my problem is is when i click on the "contact" button and i'm on that page. on the left hand side column towards the bottom, i have a block of text with one red word. i want that word to bring in the f.a.q. page (and replace the contact page i'm currently looking at) which can also be accessed from the top nav. just a little thing, but i wanted to learn how to do it.

i've put the same code into the invisible button that says "faq" which is identical to the code listed above except i changed all instances of "_root" to "_parent" but that didn't do it. i think it's something like that that would have to do with the problem.

Rephrasing :: Best File Format - Create The Highest Quality .flv Export From Their .mov File?

Oct 14, 2009

I asked this earlier but maybe I didn't give enough information. I am working on a website where video quality is very important and the client is delivering me the video already compressed. I then want to import it to flash CS3 and export it as .flv for progressive download with the media playback component. I have done all of this successfully in a sense that it all works but the video quality is not good enough, it's good but the client says it;s a bit grainy. I used the highest setting in Flash, on2 vp6 at 700kbs.

My question is what is the best file format (.mov etc) and what settings should the client use, so I can create the highest quality .flv export from their .mov file? Second question, I used an 8 second buffer but now the client is saying they don't want it to buffer at all. What are the other options besides progressive download, I have never delved into this before?
