The problem is when asp (probably php too) reads this string, it reads it like this

Now this sucks, is there a way to encrypt my flash string so asp will read the string corectly? I know asp is url encoding the flash string, but this bit of info does not seem to help.
I'm trying to make children of a tile and put them in their respective locations. To do that, I need to know what kind of tile is to be created, but if I just use my old method:[code]I will have to use a chunk of code like this for every single imaginable tile. Obviously, that is not efficient! So I'm trying to optimize it by having what tile type is to be posted saved in a string, then using the string to refer to what child is to be created, something like below:[code]how to make the above code work. It is supposed to hold the easing type that is used for Tweening, so for example var type:String = "Regular. easeInOut"; I then want to be able to use the variable when creating a new tween, such as:yTween = new Tween (this," y",type ,startCoord, finishCoord,duration,true); I tried to use this[type] etc. but couldnt get it to work. I then turn "vectorman" into a graphic, then into a movie. Now he sits on the main stage with the same colors all the time... poor vectorman. I would like the ability to control those 2 colors of vectorman via an XML file.
I know XML can control css and dynamic text fields, but how do I control the color of an graphic?

I have a main swf file and config.xml located in the same directory. My .swf file uses config.xml to fetch config variable which it does with success.The problem appears when I put those files into Flex directory. I embed .swf file like this.

ok i have a movie clip with a dynamic text field being animated... i have a text file with this in it

now how do i make the movie clip to first go from frame 1 to 10( last frame in teh movieclip) with the text time and then when the movie clip starts again it should say place and so on and so forth.. depending on how many textline variables i define in the text file?

So lets say I created a simple game with all of the parameters are stored in variables. At any time of the game the user can press save, and these variables will be sent to .csv file using PHP. Each time the user presses save, it will add a new line in the file. This I know how to do.
Here is what I don't know how to do. How would I make it so that when the game is started, I wanted it to load the last line of variables from the .csv file into the game? So basically the last save needs to be loaded when the game is started.

View 7 RepliesIs there a AS function or another way a SWF file could read its own filename? The reason for that I have a FLASH chess game which can store the position of the pieces in a sharedObject. The name of the sharedObject file as well its path has to be hard-coded. If I need to have several chess-games played at a time on the same computer, to store each game position I need to compile a separate SWF with a different sharedObject filename hard-coded. A user will fill more independent if he could just save a copy of the same SWF under a different name. But in this case how shall I make each copy of the SWF use its own sharedObject?
