ActionScript 3.0 :: Refresh Movieclip Postion When Stage Is Enlarged?
May 16, 2011
I have the next code to set the position for a movieclip based on the stage size:ActionScript Code:pintura_btn.x = stage.stageWidth / 4;But when I enlarge the stage, it doesn't dynamically follow it's set position in the x axis.Is there a way to make the position of all my movieclips dynamically follow the stage size?
if i wanna set the postion of a button to the position of a character on screen and when the character moves so deos the buttons what would be the best way to do that?
I write a picture on my HD with an Air command and want to show a message to the user because it takes a while to calculate and write the data. But of course the stage isn't refreshed while executing my calculations. Is there a way to directly refresh the stage?
In my movie I have a round drawing object, which I wish to view enlarged (about 2000% of original size). While editing it looks fine and round but after publishing all the roundness is lost and instead I get visible angles. I attach 2 images to visualize, one from the editing stage and the other after publishing. Is there any way I can get around that strange effect? I created the image from some text i "broke apart" to a drawing object. Attachments: edit.png (2.5 K) published.png (1.3 K)
I have made a bitmap image into a rollover button - reason - so that when the mouse rolls over the hit area of the button/image/thumbnail - it becomes larger on the stage and when the mouse moves outside the paramaters of the larger picture it goes back down to the original button/image/thumbnail size.That works fine.However . . . there is always a however. When I implemented the same functions to the other thumbnails on the stage - if I rollover the second thumbnail- the other thumbnails show up (through) on top of that enlarged image.
I am currently trying to modify a Polaroid Flash photo gallery template. Currently it is setup so that when the user double clicks on the thumbnail, the photo enlarge, when they double click again on it, it closes it down. I'm trying to get it so that they only have to single click to close the enlarged photo down, as supposed to double click. I have found the section of code that controls this, I've tried playing with the numbers, but I still cannot get it to work:
I just started out using autoscript 3.0. What I want is that when I click a button (with an image inside) it opens a new window with an enlargement of that image. I've already done the following: 1. Create new button 2. Set it's instance nam to appinvent_btn 3. Created new action layer. 4. Set up the following script in actionscript 3.0
appinvent_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DO WN, mouseDownHandler); function mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL(new URLRequest("???????????????????????????")); }
know how to either make a "back to galleries" button or refresh the galleries button (or is it called frames?) when its clicked again so that you don't have to click on another button then click on "galleries" button again just to refresh it.
*note: the pictures in the galleries page are clickable and do go to a different place, they just don't have the roll over hand yet.
my file was too big to upload so you can download my swf file here:
I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.
I'm currently using Flash CS4, and Actionscript 2.0 to make myself a website for my artwork. My entire website is being created in Flash (not using Dreamweaver, so keep that in mind.) My site is constructed so that Frame 1 is my Home page, Frame 2 is another page on the site, etc.On my Home page, I want a random image (of my artwork) to show up in the body of the site (there is an interface surrounding it), every time a viewer visits/refreshes the page. It sounds simple, but I've been struggling with this a lot because I keep coming across really complicated Actionscript.
I know there are two possible ways to do this. 1) The images can be drawn from the same folder as my .fla file is saved in...OR...I can attach Movieclips (of my artwork) from my Library, to a blank target Movieclip where they will load on the page. Here's an outline of the functions I want:
-Random selection of image/movieclip -target destination (where imagery can load) -(I'll have a total of about 3 images)
At my site [URL] I have PHP/MySQL talking to flash, when the holder movie opens it loads my home.swf into the content movie clip... It works fine once but if you click the home button (which runs the same function) or refresh the page it blanks out the text field and won't reload the content.
Code: stop(); goHome(); function goHome() { _root.background_mc.gotoAndStop(1); _root.holder_mc.loadMovie("home.swf"); [Code] .....
I would like to create a simple photo gallery in as3. I would like the user to be able to click on the image thumbnail and see an enlarged version come up next to it. The only galleries I see for flash are XML galleries and it was really complicated the last time I tried it.
How do you make a movieclip move horizontally from the start of the stage to 3/4 of the stage. Stage size is 700 px by 600 px i want just one row in the middle of the stage. i want that movieclip to disappear right after it reach the end of the 3/4 mark.
I am making a site and have a component on the stage that is put there dynamicly through AS 2.0. When I F5 or Ctrl F5 it seems that the actionscript is read allover again?Only the script that is situated in the specific label. What if I have script in that label that creates a news reader. I f12 and the news reader is there I jump to another label with the menu. when i jump back to the home label the news reader does not appear on the stage. after a f5 or ctrl f5 it does.Do I have to attach the movieClip in each label to assure a the dynm-movieClip script is on stage for the ctrl f5 issue?
I have a movieclip on the stage(lets call that selection movieclip) that once a button is clicked is going to open another movieclip(call this slideshow) I am trying to remove the selection movieclip when you launch the slideshow movieclip.
Error: ArgumentError: Error #2025: The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller. at flash.display:isplayObjectContainer/removeChild() at mc_work/clickHandler3()
On the stage I have a movieclip called mc_back. I also have a movieclip on the stage called mc_content. Now, inside mc_content I have a bunch of code and some of it adds, or should add, an EventListener to mc_back as well as a a function that works when mc_back is pressed.
So basically, all code is written inside mc_content and some of it needs to interact with mc_back.
how to target mc_back from inside mc_content. Using stage.mc_back or root.mc_back doesn't work and Google should be my friend, but in this particular problem, it's acting more like my enemy.
How do you align a dynamic movie clip position with another movie clip which is in the root stage? I tried to get the mc in root x,y position, but the starting point of the class that loads the dynamic MC does not seems to be accurate. (Meaning at the root stage, the x,y is 0,0 but at the dynamic class, its somewhere like 100,20 for the browser area (and it actually vary base on the browser size))
**the other classes I used to run the custom classes below, I have it added this MC to stage
var blocker:stageBlocker=new stageBlocker(); this.stage.addChild(blocker);
Below is the dynamic MC. Should I not add it to its own "stage"?
public class stageBlocker extends MovieClip { private var blocker:MovieClip= new MovieClip(); public function stageBlocker():void {
I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height)
I'm not sure if this is an actionScript3 question, or a general flashCS5.5 stage editing question (i'm using Windows76bit):HISTORY:I've made a complicated animation, with many different layers, tweening at different times.Now that I'm all done, I realize I should have put it all in a movieclip in the first place (so I could do things to it easily, in Actionscript).PROBLEM (A):I can't just select everything and right click and choose "convert to symbol" (if I do, any layer that has animation is left out. for some reason).PROBLEM (B):I tried writing action script code that says var canvas_mc = new MovieClip() canvas_mc.addChild(stage.root); //(I've also tried just canvas_mc.addChild(stage);but this gives the "TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference." I'm guessing it's a no no to just add the current stage into a MC(?)
On the click of a button I am having a movie clip load onto the stage from the library using the _root.attachMovieClip command and that part of my code is working perfectly.I have a close button embeded into the movieclip being loaded in but I am unable to get it to remove the movieclip from the stage when the close button is clicked. The close button has to be inside the loading movie clip so it doesn't interfere with other items on the stage which is why i'm not using _visible to show and hide the menu.
I'm trying to use the stage as a movieclip so that I can use onRelease to simply make the whole stage clickable. I'm creating various banner sizes and I rather do this simply using code rather than creating a movieclip on the timeline and adjusting the dimensions for each banner size.
