I am trying to get the sprite overlay to stick to the edges of the stage when I resize the swf window. It works when you resize the width, but not the height.

I want to constrain the height of a flex component to the height of the browser viewport.
The component's children are populated from a database table using a repeater, and are basic checkboxes. There are enough of them that the flex app ends up being about twice the height of the screen, which means some of the rest of the layout goes crappy on me. How can I force the component that contains these to limit itself to the size of the viewport?
I have a main movie here that loads in an external swf through a container mc. everything is aligned and positioned to where it should be, and they are also set to that value onresize. the problem is, when my swf is loaded in, it works fine and is in the right position, same when you resize it. BUT, if you resize the window before the swf is loaded, it misaligns, until you resize!!

I can use EXACT_FIT, but if the browser shrinks or expands the movie clip changes size. Keeping that height static is a pain at the moment!
So, basically I'm just looking for direction. The liquid layout tutorials seem to work for elements NOT stretched 100%...
I have set a stage to this size: 1200x330 px.
All graphics in this animation area greater than the stage, so I could extend the stage size to 1200 x 450 px.
So, my miz size for the movie is 1200x330 px and max size is 1200x450 px.
Is there a way to show the movie at minimum size or maximum size based on the browser window heigt?
note that the movie is put iside a table in my html file.

If you resize the browser window the flash movie (and only the flash movie) will be shown in different ways. If the browser window is higher enough the whole flash movie is shown. If the browser window is not higher enough, the top and the bottom of the movie will be cut. Of course there is a trick that cuts the movie only to a specified minimum size.

I am trying to resize a line within a movie clip. I am resizing the mc horizontally, but when I do this the height of the line also changes. I can of course resize the line itself, but this can't be used for tweening. How can I resize/tween a 1px high line horizontally without changing the height as well?

I have a Adobe Air app (AS3, not Flex) that has 2 windows. When I click away from them onto another desktop program, I get an "Deactivate" Event (as you would expect).When I click on say Window#1 I get an "Activate" Event (as you would expect).But when I go from Window#1 to Window#2, I get nothing. And I believe this is because the Air application is still the active program, Just a Different Window.
But I have the need to know when I go from 1 window to another.The horrible solutions I have come up with so far is to have an onEnterFrame and check if the current window is the active window. But I would much prefer to do it a much better way that such a hack.I have gone though Stage, NativeApplication and Native Window Events and none of them do what I need. Can anyone point me to another Event I may have overlooked?

View 1 RepliesI'm using a tweening engine and I need to be able to base the _yscale % of a movie clip off the height of a dynamic text field that is slightly smaller contained within the movie clip. 52 pixels smaller to be exact.I'm very poor at math but I'm guessing so far that some variable needs to be declared to factor the percentage based off the height of the dynamic text field. And I just can't think of how to do that.What I know so far:movie clip height at 100% _yscale = 396 the 'buffer' space above and below the dynamic field = 52.So if my dynamic text field height = 0, my movie clip would be 52 pixels in height. And that percentage in _yscale is 13.1%.I just can't figure out the math for this and how to translate it into ActionScript.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to run my swf by going directly to it on my serer eg(www.example.com/mySWF.swf), later I will embed it using HTML or PHP, however Im wondering why it keeps getting resized to the window size, I want it to stay the size of the swf. In the publish settings I set dimension to Match Movie, and I set scale to No Scale in the HTML tab of publish settings, am I doing something wrong or can you not have it stay its original size without emedding it into html?
View 5 RepliesSo I've noticed Windows 7 has a disturbing tendency to prevent you from dragging the title bar of windows off the top of the screen. If you try - in this case, using an air app with a draggable area at the bottom of the window, allowing you to push the top of the window up past the screen - it just kicks the window back down far enough that the title bar is at the top of what it considers the 'visible area.'
One solution would be to resize the app window as it moves, so that the title bar is always where windows wants it. How would you resize the window while you're dragging it, though? Would you do it like this?

see what's going on there? When I click, I'm doing startMove(), which is hooking into the OS' function for dragging a window around. I'm also increasing and decreasing the height of the window by 50 pixels - which should give me no net increase, right?
Wrong - the first '.height +=' gets executed, but the '.height -=' after the .startMove() never runs.
Normally the user can resize the swf window when it is playing on flash player. I want to stop the user to resize it. It is possible when we use 'fscommand("allowscale", "false")'. I dont know why it is not working for me. Did i use the script wrongly or do I need to do anything in somewhere?
