ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing A Custom Chrome AIR App

I decided to go ahead an use a custom chrome for my AIR app just because it looks nicer. The problem is, whenever anything is drawn outside of where the physical stage area is inside of flash, it doesn't get drawn. So I just figured out the resize, and then of course I can't scale it up because everything outside of that 550x400 rectangle disappears. This is pretty annoying. Is there any way to get around it?
I'm having a terrible issue with resizing browser window in Google Chrome, while resizing flash gets really glitchy and distorted but it never breaks my site it eventually corrects itself once you stop however on Safari and Firefox it works as intended.
I have flash resizing it's container div by using external interface to call the javascript:[code]Now this appears to work fine in every browser except chrome. For some reason after the div is shrunk back down to size, the flash player looks like it's frozen. It's actually not frozen because if you resize the window the flash player starts playing again and you can see it had made progress since it appeared frozen. This only happens in chrome. Does anyone have any idea why something like this might happen?The site so you can check it out yourself(yes I know it's a broken mess in IE, but I'm kind of ignoring that for now):[code]I've tried different window modes but that doesn't help. The problem is when it resizes the div back down because if I comment that line out the flash never appears to freeze. But I need to be able to resize the div...
I am not simply trying to contain things and have the container resize without the contents resizing. I would just use a simple MovieClip for that.. My main focus is on the use of BitmapFill. I'm trying to make a repeating background image for a container; thus far I'm able to draw my BitmapFill sprite to the size I want. (Which is the stage's height) but when the stage is resized, I want to re-size my container but have my containers BitmapFill crop or add more as the window is resized bigger or smaller. Allow me to illustrate what I mean:
I've got a simple rectangle sprite that fills with a bitmap from the library and a simple resize handler function that detects when the window has been resized.what I would like to do is have my rectangle resize to the height of the stage.stageHeight maintaining its bitmap fill, but not resizing the bitmap fill or any children within the sprite.
From what I've read, this is a little tricky because the sprite resizes in relation to what it contains.. or.. something like that.. I really don't know any more.. I saw one example where a person extended the sprite class but I don't know why or how..

I'm loading a few pngs/jpgs externally so they can be swapped out occasionally, and the issue I'm running into is when they are shrunk they become fairly choppy. Is there a way to have flash re-render them, or do something to smooth the resizing as opposed to going in and resizing every file manually myself?
I've got a little problem with BitmapFill, I'm trying to use a sprite as a container for various things and i would like it to have a filled pattern background. my problem is that i want it to resize the sprite to the height of the window but not have the background fill resize, and add more / crop as the window size is changed. to illustrate what i mean, please view the diagram attached to this post .

Note: The error in my earlier post is giving below error message

The difference here are two things, the earlier error is while converting flash event to custom event and now this one is while converting custom event to flash event and secondly, I have no clue why it is trying to convert to the mouseevent where I am just dispatching my custom event with proper listeners.
I have a asp.net 3.5 page that shows a file with a .swf extension. In IE when the page is pulled up the flash file is played and all looks normal. When I look at it in Google Chrome their is just a white space where the file should be playing. Is their a way to make the file play when viewing in chrome?[code]...

I have one problem with my swf file, I have created an swf for calculating speed. In the time of 12Sec. one person can move some distance with some x speed, an another person can move same distance with 2x speed, but finnaly two persons will reach the distance in same time that is 12Sec. I have created one timer for this, will show the time.If I run the swf the timer is working fine, I embeded this swf into html and I checked that html file using IE it is working fine, but if I check it in FF or Chrome the timer is running bit slow and it is effecting my functionality.
unfortunately many times the Flash plugin at Google's Chrome crashes. But fortunately, they just present a message box and a sad face.
My question is, how do they do it? my first thought is that they use structured exception handling but then again, how they know its Flash that crashed?
I am facing some problem on preloading swf in Chrome and IE. It only works in Firefox. When i preload flash, Iam getting bytesTotal as 0. So when i bytesLoaded divide by bytesTotal will cause infinity. I read this article on GZIP. [URL] But tested that the response compression was not gzipped. Here's my preloading script:
URL...When I test the swf file locally, or even on google chrome for some reason, it works fine. But for some reason on IE the ball just bounces back and forth and doesn't follow the code at all.
i am a bit embarassed to ask this, but i do this so much i have to ask. Occasionally, i need to pass/handle custom events on the fly. Rather than creating a whole custom event class, i will just do something like

I want to have a custom class tempSelection with a Dictionary as a public accessable property of that class. If I use this code, the compiler tells me:

I have a Custom Component that has a couple of Canvas with some background colors assigned to them. Now i have hard coded the colors, i want to move them to an external css file. So i would like to have the css declaration like this :

My question is if i can define custom style names like dividerRightColor and if so, how can i use that value inside my MXML Component? I have seen examples of using them inside Pure AS components.
I have a custom Flex 4.5 component (to be used in a List) -

But I never see the "game clicked: " trace. Does anybody please know why? I'm probably missing something minor, because I can see the "Clicked: 8946" trace.

I have created custom TreeItemRenderer in which i am trying to draw colored Hbox bar at each node except root. Intially when i click on root node it opens first child node with bar but when i open leaf node it does not showing bar and removing existing bard from other few child nodes. Its calling itemrenderer on mouseonver eventhough i have disabled.Attaching Code here
I've got a strange issue with a Flash site I've built not loading images properly in Chrome on a PC. The images are all hosted on the same site, but either take ages to load or not at all. It's a rather odd bottleneck it seems.
Today I cannot get on the forums through FireFox or through Chrome - they work ok in both IE and Safari, but are a mess in FF and Chrome - on two different machines for me. Anyone else seeing this? Chatted with Adobe's support for a few minutes and realized they have no damn clue about anything...
I have an AIR app initially written in Flex 3 that I had removed the Chrome from, but now it shows up when I compile using Flash Builder 4 with Flex 4 SDK. I have
set in the *-app.xml file and showFlexChrome="false" showStatusBar="false" showTitleBar="false" set in the tag. The status bar is gone, but I still see the title bar appear.
An image says a thousand words:URL...A flash object in a CKEditor dialog is being blocked by the IFrame element. This only happens on Chrome. I have tried changing the z-index, that didn't work at all.
Am I using the code improperly or is there a flaw in SWFObject? If you go to the URL below you can see that it the flash file (an MP3 player) shows up perfectly fine in Chrome. However, in both Firefox and IE8 it loads a blank white box. If you mouse over the box the pointer changes to a hand as if its registering the buttons, just not actually displaying them. I'm trying to get an absolutely positioned DIV to display in front of a Flash object; I can get this to work in every browser except Chrome.There are a couple of similar questions on here, but nothing pertaining to a problem with Chrome specifically. I've tried several of the suggested solutions, such as setting the 'wmode' param to 'transparent', and setting z-indexes for both the flash object and the div, but nothing seems to work.URL...There is some green text: "Click here to begin", which should appear in front of the Street View panorama. In Chrome, you can see that the DIV appears in the correct position, but is then obliterated by the Flash object.
