ActionScript 3.0 :: Rotating Drag And Drop - How To Set Boundaries
Jun 1, 2010
I know how to set boundaries for a drag and drop, but is it possible to have one of corner of an MC stay anchored, thus forcing the mc to rotate around it like the hands on a clock? (I only need the MC to rotate about 90 degrees).
I have an object in my program that you can click drag. However, I want to set a boundary for this object so that you can't drag it outside of a certain area. Using a standard if statement to check the coords of the object and reset them doesn't work as that causes a bouncing effect.
I want to make a drag and drop movie clip with rotating control in 360 degrees.I made a movie clip with 30 frames with a button in centre which can rotate the object in 360 degrees.At this stage it is functioning.when i tried to add the drag and drop action to the movie,the button for rotation is not working.
I'm trying to design a child's bracelet game, where they can drag and drop beads onto a string (circle) but I'm having trouble snapping the object onto my ellipse (circle), Currently the ball (bead) is stuck rotating around the ellipse, but I need it and multiples to be dragged from the bottom of the screen and then be able to snap to the ellipse once its closer, basically so that the child can choose a bead and drag it onto a string, to create their very own bracelet,
I have a pointer that follows the mouse movement only in determined angles. lets say the pointer can only follow the mouse when the mouse is moving below the pointer. (it rotates perfectly and smoothly to the left and right) but the thing is, lets say that the mouse is now above the pointer to the right, the pointer stays to the last permited right/down angle BUT if i go down with the mouse from the left, the pointer obviously will jump from facing right/down to facing left/down...what i would like is the pointer to make a nice transition/rotation to the inverse side...just what it does when moving the mouse from left to right, right to left (having the mouse below the pointer).
What i am trying to do is move a MC around by dragging it, but i dont want the MC to move so far that it could be lost on the stage. i need some sort of parameters so that the MC is always showing. basically i have a large map of the united states and i want to be able to move it around and look at the individual states. the map is much larger than the stage and i am using a mask to clean up the appearance. i just want to make sure that the user cant move the map so far in one direction that it gets lost.
I am trying to create a movieClip that will always stay on a track. You get me, or have a lost you?Picture the London underground map, I want a little circle that will follow the track BUT also follow my cursor.So if I drag the circle to the right it will go to the right but always stay on track even if there are slopes or corners in the track.
I'm making an image revealer in flash, but I can't wrap my head around how to constrain the slider bar to the area_mc. Mainly in the mouseMoveHandler. Can someone please give me some pointers?[code]...
I have a movieclip that is locking to mouse center when dragging it. I know how to set up the boundary code, though the movieclip images are different sizes, so didn't want to have to create a custom code such as:t.startDrag(true, 290, 85, 910, 390);for each movieclip.does anyone know how to constrain the draggable item to within the left, top, right, bottom boundaries inside of a movieclip?
ActionScript Code: var yMouse:Number; var xMouse:Number; onEnterFrame = function(){ yMouse = _root._ymouse;
[Code]...
As you can see, I'm trying to prevent it from passing _root.block by only allowing the mouse's Y to be followed when it isn't passing _root.block. The only problem is that once it hits _root.block, there's no way to drag it back from _root.block. It gets stuck. Is there a better way to prevent it from passing _root.block but allow it to be pulled back from _root.block
I'm trying to make a simulation where a person can drag 2 different objects to any 4 predefined targets on the stage. Based on the position of the 2 objects there will be a different output text. I hope I described that clearly. I would also like the 2 objects to snap to the 4 targets. Im very new to AS. Im starting to be able to read it a bit but still can not wright it.
I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,makeA Box); var i:Number = 1; //i will be the total number of boxes var newBox:myMC = new myMC();[code]....
Im trying to do a drag and drop system where the user can drag a movie clip into an area. Although i would like to make it snap to a target instead of just sitting wherever it lands in the area. Problem Two:
The next thing i am trying to do is when the user has a movie clip on a target already, and trys to put another movie clip in that target area, it will replace the one thats in there and go back to its current position. Here is the script of what i have done so far:
I have added drag and drop to some of my custom components.The drag event is fired on mouse down.If you mouse down and move the component around then drop it repeatedly its fine.But if you mousedown and drag the component around drop it and THEN just click on the component it inits the drag but doesn't fire the drop event.Its almost like you have to move the component for it to fire the drag drop event.This is very annoying as i'm removing the component on drag init and adding it again on drop, so just clicking on it makes it disappear.
We are developing our app in flash/flex builder for the front end hitting .NET backend webservices. There is one section of the old app that will not be initially converted, so we need have it appear in an iFrame.
So far all that works fine.We shrink the size of the SWF in the host page to just be the menu/nav area. And underneat that I have an iframe control that loads in this page from the old site.Now the problem. in the SWF is a drop down list to enable picking a client. Since the SWF has been shrunk to about 100px high, the drop-down will only occupy within that 100px area which it's opened. This is NOT good as you can imagine. How can I make the drop-down list descend over-top of the IFRAME control and thus extend outside the SWF dimensions? Is this possible?
I tried to make the internal stage transparent and leave the SWF a little larger, about 400 px high, but the IFRAME still appears behind the SWF.
I built one of those click-and-drag rotating images. basically you click on it and drag left to right and it will scroll through a series of images in the timeline to make it appear like the object in the images is rotating he problem is I want to be able to click-and-drag the mouse up-and-down, AND left-and-right. Right now I can program it to do one or the other, but not both. if i put left,right,up,AND down in the code it ignores one or the other.
I know that's not the right code. Basically, that's what I want. When you "press" to drag, if you press "r" while dragging, it will rotate the "object" 25%.
I downloaded a free flash menu component. It's help file said "You can simply drag and drop the menu items wherever you wish".However, I don't know how to drag and drop it in my file. please help me, how to use it?
I am developing a simple drag and drop game..except my draggable items are in a movie clip and my targets are also in a movie clip. My draggable objects work fine, they drag and snap back into place when the mouse is let go, but... they dont snap to their targets.They do snap to their targets when they are directly on the timeline, but inside another movie clip it doesnt work and i can't figure out why.[code]
Basically, there will be two images, which participants are to choose between. Below the pairs of images will be a horizontal bar with arrows at both opposite ends. I would like the participant to be able to drag and drop a small rectangle somewhere along the bar to represent their choice (and the degree of their endorsement).Basically, I'm asking how to make an interactive scrollbar on its side (without buttons, just the drag). I would also like it to start in the middle of the bar and be able to be moved in either direction.
I am trying to do a flex drag and drop. It is very similar to this first example.url....The problem is that event.currentTarget.mouseX,mouseY is showing the position where I put the mouse down rather than the position where I had finished dragging.
I am trying to create an elearning exercise and i have a problem with the drag and drop section i have created. The exercise works well but when the user clicks the next button to go to the next frame one of the drag elements from the exercise shows up on the next frame and i just can't work out how to get rid of it?
This is an overly complex way of making drag and drop functions, I know. My problem is, when my item hits the target, it doesn't allow me to drag anymore items?
ActionScript Code: square.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, drag) function drag(event:MouseEvent):void {
