View 5 RepliesThe app itself will require some data from an online database to be downloaded and stored locally, so that the kiosk can be safely disconnected from the internet while running, and reconnected later to update its data.I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to do this. I figured that the data's easily enough loaded from a server-side PHP script and saved to a local SQLite database for offline usage, but I haven't been able to find any solid method of downloading and saving images. At least, not without using a save dialog.
View 1 RepliesI want a user running a Flash game on his machine (not from a server) to be able to save some game data locally.From what I've read, there still isn't any way to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows a sneaky xml or php work around.

View 3 RepliesI am populating a listbox with an array. When an item is selected in the listbox, I am attempting to link to that file and save it locally when I click a save button. I have fished around looking for ways to do this. I guess I'm looking for any info. I know the FSCommand has some functions that may help, but they don't seem to be supported completely.

ActionScript Code:
import flash.events.Event;
var file:FileReference = new FileReference();
saveBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);[code]....
will save a text file to a location I choose, containing the text I wrote in the text field. But it prompts me for the location. Is there a way to save the text just locally next to the swf without the prompt?
I know how to save images from flash using JPGEncoder/PNGEncoder using FileReference.save();But I don't want the dialogbox displayed.I want this: Clicking a button will save the image to a predefined location without user confirmation.
View 1 RepliesI have created a painting app and when the user want's to save his drawing he simply hits the save button and a dialog pops up - or should do.
When testing locally on dev machine it's no problem but whenever the app is loaded in a browser it won't work. Even if I load the local SWF file in a browser it won't work.
The following code is what I use to save the file and as said it works fine locally but whenever it goes into a browser it dosen't.The save dialog simply never pops up.
var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(canvas.width, canvas.height);
bitmapData.draw(canvas);
var jpg:JPEGEncoder = new JPEGEncoder(100);

It works by reading an existing Class file, parses it, generates an Interface-like .as file for it, and saves it locally, all from within FlexBuilder. It works perfectly but I'd like to improve it by having it automatically open, modify and save the files with only a few user clicks required.Currently I'm using FileFilter, but this requires that the programmer manualy select each file to parse, and then manually select where to save the output - it's tedious.Normally I'd simply use AIR, but because of my company's security policies I am not allowed to create my own AIR applications.

View 3 RepliesI have one xml link. that link have collections of images(apx 1000 images). when i flex applications start at the time load all images in locally. then when i need that images then use it. How i do this... give me some links and logic.
View 1 RepliesI have a flash project that uses an XML doc for data. The URL's in the XML load fine locally, but when published and placed online, they do not load. Is a policy file needed? If so, how do you do that?
View 1 RepliesI'm using BulkLoader to load a single XML, parsing this, extracting out a list of images on another server (amazon), adding them to BulkLoader and loading them in.
this all works great running in the Flash IDE but as soon as it's uploaded the xml loads, parses BulkLoaders starts but non of the images load.
I assume it's a security issue but linking to these images from the local or from a html page works fine just not from Flash from a server.
Is it possible to save scores in a text file or xml file locally? Im not creating an online application but rather an application for personal use! I don't want to use cookies since they can be cleared by mistake! It would be really good if it was possible to save the score to an external file!
View 2 RepliesI have what I'm sure is a very basic flash question. I have a flash movie (swf) and the accompanying fla file. I can open the fla file, and see all the images used in the file (symbols in the library), but how can I export or save one of these images separately from flash?
View 3 RepliesI was wondering if it was possible to automatically save images captured from a web cam instead of using buttons.[code]...
What I want to do is instead of the button to save the image, I want it once the button is clicked to capture the image to automatically save it to a folder as well.
i have in fla library button with instance name: _btnSave, and use for button Save function this code:
Code:

I want to create a image application in flash, but trying to map out the complexity of it!
Step 1: I want the user to upload a image
Step 2: The user can choose a separate background image
Step 3: The user can manipulate the image to make it fit with the background
Step 4: Export as one image as a profile picture on facebook or just the desktop
This is kind of like the yearbookyourself.com application if you have seen it=)
I have an Air application with remote service in codeigniter. I'm trying to save a bytearray that I received from the Air app but when I save the data I get empty files with the correct filename.So there must be something wrong with my bytearray or the way I save the data. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? I've debugged the Arraycollection I sent and the bytearray is definitely in there.This is where I make my arraycollection to send to my codeigniter amf

I'm trying to encode and upload two (or more) images from Flash using JPGEncoder. I can upload a single image with no problem, but have never needed to upload two or more encoded images. This is the code I'm using to encode and upload a single image.

I know that most of the media in web pages are temporarily stored to a temp folder or browser cache. Some are directly embedded in web pages so that we can see the source and can save them. But how to save images loaded using any other method? You can see what I am talking about here. Is there any solution to save images from this site's gallery?
View 3 RepliesDo sites like facebook resize images before upload to save bandwidth?... or do they just get resized remotely, beause when i try and do it using gd library i have the problem that images wiht large dimenions timeout, whatever memeroy limit i set..
View 4 RepliesBascially what I'm trying to do is load 2 or more external images, all the same size and resolution, then combine or composite them one on top of the other, then save that result as a new image using a jpeg or png encoder.
I don't want to take a snapshot of the stage, I'd like to save the images with thier original resolution. So far the only thing I've been able to do is load two images, and composite them on the stage. thats about it.
I'm using flash pro CS5.5, and writing code in a class file, not on the timeline. Here is a copy of the code.

After a long search, the only good example I found was this [URL] but I'd rather have a flash alternative.. Also I don't need all the extra functions such as filters.
I am uploading some photos In flash and Bydefault its saving those files in the folder.But Is there anyway so that i can save them directly in my library of flash instead of using import option?
