I have an swf movie which contains a UILoader (which should load an external swf (star.swf) on click of a button). My problem is that the swf movie will only load the external swf when it is played on the pc on which it was created(with the original flash cs4 files). When the main movie is played on a remote pc, the external swf does not load.

I have a typical logo on the right top corner and a menu bar just above it. Above the menu bar, I have a UIloader in which I load photoalbum.swf when one of the menu buttons is pressed. The problem is that setting the scaleContent property to true doesn't load my external swf.Setting it to false, everything appears as expected, except that the bottom part of my photo album is cut since the scaleContent property set to false (this makes the loaded swf file's size the same as the stage's and as the UIloader begins just above the menu, the bottom part gets cut off).

I am using AS3 and the UILoader Component to bring in external .swf files into my main (index) page, works fine.
Here is the problem: From inside an external swf, I have a button that I want to communicate "back" to an object on the main page.
Here is the code I am using to change the alpha of the testbox_mc located on the main page:

I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to display some simple information in an Alert (I'd rather not use an alert, but I need a fast n' simple solution for a project that's got to be out the door asap)
how large I make the alert, my information never stretches out, and ends up being clipped.
I can actually scroll through the text with the mousewheel, but that's no good.
The image says it all. I can't imagine Alert just doesn't handle this.

I have a flash video player in a div inside a webpage, I'm trying to create a button that will resize this div to fill the whole page and hide everything else behind it. Has anyone tried to do it?Problems:1. It causes the flash to reload and the video to restart2. In some cases a flash banner from the webpage overlays my video player no matter what z-index I give it.

The <mx:Image> tag has a fixed width and height (it's 100% of the tile size--this is in an ItemRenderer). How do I get the image to sit on the bottom of the <mx:Image> tag?
I am new to flash, trying to do some animation character. I have 2 queries
1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....
2. If I am creating a non regular figure like say with pencil, if I draw some part of it & do other part by later; these will be assumed different objects & I am not able to fill the whole figure with a selected color.
I was looking at this site:[URL]and i noticed that on a smaller screen with a lower resolution, the page simply moves in, instead of it staying at the normal size and having a scroll bar on the bottom. what extra code would i need to insert in order to do this?

View 6 RepliesI have a scratch card. Basically I'm masking a movie clip with an empty shape. I can draw on that mask and thus my movieclip will become visible. I have also attached the fla.
Now what I would like to achieve is that when you fill a percentage of that mask, let's say 70%, I automatically fill the whole layer so that all of my movieclip becomes visible (as mask is fully filled).
I am using a quiz template and have placed video in the first frame. Now the quiz doesn't go past the welcome page when I test movie... I'm sure what I am missing is simple!
View 1 RepliesI inherited some code from a previous programer. The idea is that a user clicks on the player and that opens the page at a new url. It works if it opens in a new page but it doesn't work trying to open the url in the same page. It just closes the player. Here is the code:

If you only get the audio/pauze/getflashplayer10 buttons, but the movie itself is just white space (just like my preview image), could you write down you mac's specs?
Or let me know why this perticular movie of adobe themselves doesn't work on my mac? I've got a mac os 10.4.11 with flash player 10 installed.
my preloader is working when its first run, but it doesn't go to the 2nd frame if the page is refreshed. (Its for a swf that has about 9,000 frames but I don't think thats the issue)

I have a mc (houses_mc on frame1) (a long image the user can pan to the left or right) and I want to place some buttons in this movieclip to go to another page when CLICK. I put the second page on the second frame in the timeline, and so on. ( Is this alright or should I open it in a scene or as a new fla file?) So far I can't get my button work. It seems that As3 doesn't like btns placed in mc or something like that. The roll over and hover and hit works all fine, but when I click it doesn't go anywhere. It works fine the first time people are on my site but when the page is refreshed or is gone back to sometimes the loader bar is just stuck and doesnt load.

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I am working on adding functionality to where the URL takes in a parameter as defined by an MVC style looking way.eg. (URL... )where 12345 is the corresponding Id number that I want to get.I have this functionality working.I am using Internet Explorer 7.My issue is that when a user attempts to enter a new query string id into the URL, the page doesn't refresh when the user hits enter or the refresh button. (The user can navigate to the url/#/Id/12345 only when opening a new window/tab)Does anyone know if this is a feature that doesn't work in Flex or if there is some code or configuration needed to allow this?
View 1 Replies1. I selected the Rectangle tool, and made sure Object Drawing Mode was not selected.
2. I picked colors for stroke and fill, and drew a rectangle.
3. I clicked the Selection tool, then dragged around the rectangle to select all of it.
4. In the Property Inspector I clicked the fill color icon. I clicked the square with the slash, to designate no fill. The fill disappears.
Everything has worked so far. But now I decide I want a fill color after all. I select the shape again. But clicking the fill color icon in the Property Inspector and the Tool panel has no effect on bringing a fill color back to the shape. I can't figure out how to do that.
Actually, I could restore the original fill color using Undo, or the History Panel. But it seems there must be a way using the Property Inspector.
I added a website preloader in a separate scene to the main frame of my website and scripted it to go to and Play the main scene or frame of the website when finished loading. I then put a command in the first frame of the main scene for the movie to stop (); at that point. The problem is that now the buttons on the main page don't respond to any behaviour commands to go to and stop at other frames in the main scene. I'm not sure if this is a conflict between the stop(); command in the main scene and the button behaviour command to go to and stop at another frame or an error with the way I'm identifying the scene and frame.
View 5 Replies[URL] Above is a link to view the project I'm working on. Once the site loads if you go to the "Contact Us" page the content doesn't load correctly. I'm using an extrnal .xml and .css files for the content. I'm also embedding the fonts dynamicly. If I test the file locally on my computer is works fine the image loads as it's supposed to and content looks correct. However when I post the files to the server (which work exactly the same way) I get the white box when you can see from the link above. I'm at a complete loss as to how to to fix this.
