ActionScript 3.0 :: Values In Array - Plotting Graphs From Data In XML?

I am trying to plot a line chart/graph from values in an array which obtains its values from an XML file. My code does work to an extent, but as an Array can only contain a limited number of elements (I think it is 255 maximum - but I could be wrong), and the data in the XML exceeds the maximum limit of the Array, I was wondering if there is an alternative method of plotting the graphs from data in XML.
I am making a component is AS3, every thing is working great ...except for my Array. I need an Array (or collection?) that has 2 data values. So when you goto the component inspection panel and click the array, the data provider gives you 2 options. Not just the one defaultValue.
Like this: I am looking to end up with this as the Array data: trace (myArray) //OUTPUT [{path: "search.png", label: "One"}, {path: "search.png", label: "Two"}, {path: "search.png", label: "Three"}, {path: "search.png", label: "Four"}, {path: "search.png", label: "Five"}, {path: "search.png", label: "Six"}]
Goal: load XML data (it parses automatically), parse through the XML tree and assign the values to an array of my choosing for access later in the movie. Problem: I can load the XML data, but the only time I can access the XML functions, i.e. XML.firstChild, or XML.getChildNodes(), is when I am within an XML.onLoad function.
and i want to show these values on the Yaxis and months on Xaxis....
I have two Qns,
1) how can I pass this array to Bar chart or column chart.
2) how do I need to show months on Xaxis. beacuse I'm asking this regarding, I have kept a filters that even if we want to see some months or a particular months or perticalar span of months... there on Xaxis it need to change the months dynamically depending on the filters..... (for ex, on Xaxis the values should be (Jan, Apr, Jun,Oct) if i select the 3 months period filter....)
I have written a logic to collect the values of those particular months into an array, but not understading how to pass this array to Bar chart,, beacuse there I don't know what Xfield and Yfield to be given....
I have form in flash with input text fields with Var field set to t2_2 t3_2 t4_2... what i want to do when user enter values and press buton it should post data(values) to aspx page - how can i do that ? i saw what i did

I need to create a table and i need to be able to add data and change the data automatically using values computed by other functions. I was trying to use arrays to create the rows of the table but i dont know how to individually name each array. The arrays have to created automatically and so i cannot name each array manually.[code]but the value for the array is undefined.
What I'm trying to do is attach a bunch of movieclips onto my game table in a grid like pattern. But the game table is a circle. So I want to cut out all of the coordinates that are not inside the circle. I could sit there and map out all of these possible coordinates my self, but I'd rather have my actionscript do it dynamically.
anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I edited a twitter widget javascript which search tweets based on the hashtag I needed then passing it on an array per tweet and then displaying it using a <div> it updates once every 5 minutes. Now I want to display those tweets on a dynamic text on Flash. Let's say I will have 5 dynamic text placed on my flash file then; I want each of those dynamic text to have the tweets I have based on on my HTML arrays to be displayed in random.
Array of color id-s represents a 3D Array of values. I've represented each value with a color(Blue is 1, Red is 2 and Green is 3). So for the example the array for the image would be[code]...
Now, I have an array of predefined shapes/objects. I'd like to replace the grouped colors with the shapes that I have. I'd like this to follow the rule of finding the largest shape first and then down to the smallest one. [code]...
I have some variables created on the main timeline and a mc called options which will be where those variables can be manipulated. A way I've tried to this is by creating a first array(array1) and populating it will all the variable names found on the main timeline, and another array(array2) containing the values of the variables the user has changed(which are displayed on some dynamic text fields). To make these changes, an "apply" button is pressed which will set the values found in array2 to the variables in array1.[code]How would you do this so that var1, var2... are updated properly according to the values found in array2?And because array2 contains strings(read from dynamic textfields), how do you deal with that since var1 and var2 are numbers?
I've been messing around a bit with a Facebook application for a while now, which is using FBML. A need has arisen to integrate graphs to display data. From what I can tell my options would be one of the following:
Find a Flash Graph that doesn't require a JavaScript library to work Convert the application to an IFrame application, and hope that Facebook wont break the Graph JavaScript Generate the graph serverside with GD or ImageMagick I would preferably not go with option 3, due to how boring generated graphs look, and serverside load.
Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions on how I would best solve this?
I have to make a graph with 2 parts the main view which you can drag and a bottom part which will show your location on the whole graph. how can i make the 2 move together, I have attached a small jpg of what i mean.
I have two requirements for a flex charting component:
1) The grid lines should always remain fixed to a scaling I define using an array of data. Something like a graph paper sheet.
2) Plot multiple line series data over this grid.
How does one get complete control over the background grid lines? I have tried a combination of annotation elements and setting the linechart background elements. If I get the grid right, I can't plot over it (Probably due to the scale). how would one go about designing a graphpaper like interface for linecharts in flex/actionscript?
I am using flex builder 3 with SDK 3.5. I make a AIR application and I want to Draw some graphs on it. I search the internet and the examples did not work. Am I missing something or I have to install some chart relating packages? I am new to Flex.
i have a project to do on flash..its about laws of physics and i want to include dynamic graphs.. e.g projectile motion.. the guy enters the distance and the angle and a graph is plotted from the calculations it makes.. erm..thing is that i dont even know to make a graph in flash..now i have to make a dynamic one is there any tutorial around
Is there an online cheat-sheet to graphs of common tween / easing functions? I want a bookmark I can refer to when picking a function for a tween (e.g., Quintic, Quadratic, "Bounce"). The only one I can do in my head easily is linear.
Does anyone know of software or flex/flash/as3 source or visualisation software that could be used to make interactive graphs, where the user would enter a query that would pull data from a MySQL database and the user would build a sunburst or icicle graph by dragging and dropping items into a tree-like structure and they would be able to view the graph? i have attempted to use flare but my programming skills are pretty bad. So far from what i gather, flare only allows the graphing of defined datasets rather than allowing a user to modify the dataset and thus creating a new dataset.
[code]I want to input a number and find a match for the number, returning the values on the row in to specific fields for each number. For example, if I input the number 10 in an input field, I want the number 1.2276, 0.00100, 106.38 and the rest of that row to output these values I have seen so many options, don't know where to start.
I am loading images and am getting their heights via trace but can't put them into an array to save my life.

I have this flash player we use to create some graphs and charts of our business performance. We use flash because we like those neat-o graphics and overall User experience.
The thing is that now I need to generate snapshots (i.e. images) of those charts every Monday so I can save them to disk.
Our flash player takes arguments at startup (or runtime) that specify the data we want to load and the date range, and we have LOTS of charts around.
I would like to know if there is any way to create these images in a batch, window-less process in linux. My goal would be to have a script that runs at 2am, automatically loads all the graphs say for the latest week, and creating PNG images for each. All this in one of our window-less (but with X11 libraries) linux boxes.
I am trying to develop a flash map where i need to show avalue from the current url into the text field in flash. I have a for loop that goes through my recieved values from my server. How can I put all those values into ONE array? I have this now, but obviously the array just updates every time the loop returns.

Basically, in my xml, I obviously have many more <TradesMan> values, but my trace is only showing me the very first one. How can I put all of my values in some sort of array so I target them from elsewhere within my flash file?
i tried to add numbers with the following code and it worksNumber(ary[0]) + Number(ary[1])but when i do sum with for loop it doesnt work, anyone knows why?
