ActionScript 3.0 :: XML Parsing Not Working On Server?

Dec 4, 2010

I am trying to migrate some classes to a new project and I am running into a problem. I have a class that loads up XML and is suppose to just present the raw data in a textfield. This works fine on my local machine but when I upload it I get this error:

Code:
[HTTPStatusEvent type="httpStatus" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 status=404]
XML: ioErrorHandler: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032"]

Media Server :: String Parsing By Remote Java Server?

Jan 4, 2011

I am writing a game where positions of an object are being exchanged between the two flash clients through a java server. The secnario goes simply like this:

PlayerA ---> Server : "Position X + Position Y+
"
Server ---> PlayerB: "Position X + Position Y+

and it works both ways of course.the problem here is that on my computer where i use "localhost" everything is fine and the data is exchanged seamlessly .. when I loaded the server on a remote host the message received strangely turns into something like "Position X + NaN" (i.e. the y position is wrongly parsed by the server), what is weird even more, is that sometimes, the message gets parsed correctly..the server is wrote in java and it is exactly the same source code that works on my machine that fails over the internet

ActionScript 2.0 :: XML Parsing Not Working In IE - But Works In Firefox?

Mar 14, 2008

I have a movie that retrieves an RSS feed from this URL: [URL]

The XML document can be successfully parsed in Flash when viewed in Firefox, but it doesn't work in IE. Here is a file that demonstrate this: [URL]

However, if I open the RSS feed and save a copy of it and post it to my web server, it does work in IE: [URL]

Here's the version of the RSS that is working when saved: [URL]

I don't believe that there is any difference in the two XML documents. Cross domain policy files are in place on both servers - and it doesn't appear to be a cross-domain issue since it works in Firefox.

The code in the flash files are the same except for the URL of the XML they are retrieving. Here's the code for the one that isn't working:

var xmlFeed:XML = new XML();
xmlFeed.ignoreWhite = true;
xmlFeed.load("http://www.clipsyndicate.com/rss/feed/5572?wpid=2892");
xmlFeed.onLoad = function(success) {
txtTest.text=xmlFeed;
}

ActionScript 2.0 :: Server Dependent CSV Parsing?

Oct 6, 2007

I've got a Flash site that uses a loadvars object to load a csv file that I then parse into arrays. The swf works great locally and on two hosts I have tested it on. However, I can't get it to work on the host server I own (er..rent). The HTML file, swf and csv are all stored on the same level and I've even included a policy file just in case. Additionally, I have changed the path to the csv in the Flash file several times to see if that was the issue. I created a trace that indicates my data is loading, but the functionality isn't working, leading me to believe the parsing is at issue. Any ideas why this file would work fine on two other servers but bomb on a third?? I'm completely stumped.

I am having trouble parsing some xml that has a few attribute names with : characters in them. The compiler is not throwing any errors and when I trace my complete xml object out it is all there, however when I try to trace out any element or node it keeps comming up undefined. I removed the attribute names with : characters in them and everything works fine. I cant seem to target the attributes either to delete them.

Media Server :: Dynamicstream.f4m Not Working From Index File Of New Install Of 4.03 Server?

Oct 17, 2011

I'm doing a test install before we update our old server to 4.03.I've got the server software installed and configured (4.03 server, using iis for web).All the test stuff on the sample index page works, except for the dynamic stream tab.I've eyeballed the .f4m file, and tried putting in a complete url to the samples...but no luck.i just keep getting the stock connection timed out message.

Where do i need to look to start confiriming where this issue may be coming from?I've made made sure I can reach all the test videos by making flash players for them, calling them via rtmp... no problems.It's got to be something dumb with either the f4m file, or the way it's being served   (btw, i have added all the mime types to iis , including .f4m as video/mp4....which is one of two ways I've seen it added).

Media Server :: FMS Using A Public Ip (not Working)?

Dec 6, 2011

I was making live streaming using FMLE and FMS but inside a local network,  now my server is using a public ip, and now the FMLE cant connect to the server, im sure i have to change something in the FMS but i dont know where, if i try to work inside my network works, but if i try to do it by my public ip launch an error eerytime i try to connect.for example: inside my network my server ip was 192.168.1.200,  so everytime my FMLE needed the url to stream was something like.. rtmp://192.168.1.200/live.

lets pretend that my new server ip is 190.15.15.103 so im trying to connect with FMLE to rtmp://1990.15.15.103/live.. and nothing happend, i also tryed using some ports.. like 1935.80.8888.1111 and nothing happened.

What I have is a rotating banner system. I set it up to randomly start at a specific one. If I preview it locally or run in in my .html file locally (just using preview in dreamweaver) it works like a charm and starts at a random one. When I upload it it just starts at the first one like the actionscripts do not exist.

Using Flash CS3 and AS3.

Frankly speaking we don't know about the computer configuration on which timer is not fired after 30 seconds. Can any body suggest us what's the problem? Where we are lagging?

We are considering this is due to older version of flash. Correct us if we are wrong. May be due to browser dont know what's the problem.

Media Server :: Switching Not Working In Playlist?

Sep 9, 2011

So recently I have found issues with switching when playing playlists in a player we are developing. So to trouble shoot I built a simple application with buttons to manually switch. The first video in the stream switches just fine. When the player gets to to the second video in the the stream, switch does does not work either with or with out oldStreamName defined in the NetStreamPlayOptions. What happens is the the stream ends prematurely, a few seconds to a few minutes after the the button to switch is clicked. If I just let it pIay with out switching it plays out the whole stream as intended. I can't find any reason for this not to work, so I am wondering if there is an issue with the server.

XML :: Main Flash SWF Not Working Once Uploaded To Server

Oct 13, 2009

I have a 1 frame main SWF. In the first frame I include codeAS2.as like so:
#include "codeAS2.as"
When I test the movie in Flash CS4, everything works fine, it loads all the data from the XML file menu.xml which is in the same folder. Using the Simulate Download function from Flash, it also runs fine, with not one error, everything loads. Now comes the headscratcher, once I upload it and run it, it does not work. The server is a Linux box and I work on a Mac. Everything I load externally is in the same folder as the SWF, so I have no absolute paths, all relative to the SWF. Can this be some sort of sandbox issue? [URL]

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loader Stops Working On Server?

In my current flash application I and my co-workers are using Loader to load some SWFs from our server. It works perfectly while we have the flash application on our computers running it trough Adobe Flash CS3 but when we publish it and move the html page to our server and try and run it from there the loading doesn't seem to start. I have the firebug plugin for Firefox so I checked if flash actually loaded the images and according to firebugs network monitor it found all needed resources and downloaded them successfully. But the behaviour of our application is as if the loading starts but the complete event is never sent.

ActionScript 1/2 :: BitmapData From Remote Server Since 10.1 Update Not Working?

Jul 22, 2010

I have had an SWF running on a HTML page since early 2008, and this SWF pulls down some images from another server - subseqently displaying them for the user.The SWF uses BitmapData to smoothly display the loaded JPG images.However, since the 10.1 update, this no longer works - everything gets drawn blank (when the bitmapdata's .draw() method is invoked).I must point out that this has been working fine for years before the 10.1 update, and the security setup has also been done correctly (the image server has the crossdomain.xml file, and the local SWF file has the relevant Security.allowDomain settings in place).Has anyone else experienced this, or know of a fix? This is driving me nuts, many of our clients who have this SWF in place on their website can no longer see the images after updating to 10.1.
