If I run the site locally on a web server, it works fine. BUT, when I upload to my hosted server, it stops working.I have an SWF that loads another SWF, using a relative path and as I said, this works perfectly well until I upload it.Any ideas anyone.. has anyone had a similar problem. View 2 Repliesi have a swf file which is a framework file done in puremvc and i m loading multiple swf files. one of the swf file loaded into the main swf file loads multiple sub swf files in it. works fine but in the loaded swf file which loads multiple swf files in it.. button dosent work at all. i m not able to click on any button. i m jst making a tree structure so can be easily understood..
container swf -> external swf -> miniSwf file and in miniSwf dynamic button are not clickable but they have all the Mouse eventListeners.
As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
View 1 RepliesI was messing around with some old examples, and I ran into an unfinished example where several 30k-100k XML files are loaded and stored as a string into an Array. The code looks basically like:[code]Basically, when I trace the 'this', the order of the files that are loaded is off. Out of about 10 tries, about 3 times the order is perfect. The remaining 7 times, the order is a bit off. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to ensure the files are loaded prior to the next file being loaded? I tried placing a while loop that basically delays the clock for a few milliseconds, and that didn't work either. Besides, that is not really a good solution to arbitrarily waste clock cycles.

But i want my users my users to upload an .avi, .mpeg / .mpg, .mov etc file via an http form and after upload finishes i want fms to convert file to flv.
It can be done with the ffmpeg tool free but i wonder if interactive server has a feature like this.
I have a problem on streaming my files with the FMS 4. There are several testfiles on my VOD-directory, most of them with a length about 2 minutes. Altough there are some with 12 minutes. So if i want to play all those files with the StrobeMediaPlayer, only the files with a 12 minutes length are working, on the others the player ist sayin "We are unable to connect to the content you´ve requested. We apologize for the inconveniece.".ind any option or notice where it says there is a minimum lenght to stream... so whats going wrong here?Additional Infos:FLV, MP4H.264 + AAC
View 1 RepliesI have an flash application that captures a web cam video stream and stores it on the FMS server.I notice when I create a brand new video, and store it on my FMS server, it works fine.When I make another video and my application overrides the file with the new video, this is where I get problems.When I download the flv file from the FMS server, and I play it locally it plays fine, but the timeline is weird.The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.A 30 second video, will have a time line of like 45 seconds, the local flv player is smart enough to skip over the paused part of the video.You will see it skip over the timeline to the good video (from 0sec to 15 secs). The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.

View 1 RepliesI'm doing a test install before we update our old server to 4.03.I've got the server software installed and configured (4.03 server, using iis for web).All the test stuff on the sample index page works, except for the dynamic stream tab.I've eyeballed the .f4m file, and tried putting in a complete url to the samples...but no luck.i just keep getting the stock connection timed out message.
Where do i need to look to start confiriming where this issue may be coming from?I've made made sure I can reach all the test videos by making flash players for them, calling them via rtmp... no problems.It's got to be something dumb with either the f4m file, or the way it's being served (btw, i have added all the mime types to iis , including .f4m as video/mp4....which is one of two ways I've seen it added).
I installed the FMS 4.5 on a debian system already running an apache web server. I configured the httpd.conf as mentioned in d6093a7e2f8312a374a1bde-8000.html but when i call a streaming url e.g. http://<IP>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 the request is still handled by the old apache, not by the FMS
View 9 RepliesI have a "photo" gallery that loads numerous SWFs through xml, one by one on click. All works fine. All my SWF work fine stand alone. But when I load them into the player, many swf dont work properly.in example, I have textinput textfields in many of the swfs, which work fine on their own but not when loaded into the player. Then I have a word search game that works fine when alone, not when in player. I can see there is something as my mouse cursor changes into the "button finger", but nothing visual.
All drag and drop assigments work fine etc. I have no idea whats up. I have receantly switched to as3 and in as2 there was _lockroot declaration that solved similar problems, but now in as3 (where it supposedly should be automatic) it doesnt work. As it seems that it cannot recognise it own stage value, or selection_focus when loadedinside another swf through xml.Using cs4, as3.
The server on which FMS was running crashed due to a power failure. FMS is set to start, and it restarted with the server.Unfortunately it restarted with no applications loaded, including the application, which we need to run continuously.Is there some way to ensure that the server always starts with a particular application loaded? The only way I could find to load it was through the systems console.
View 1 RepliesWhat I'm trying to do is get the total bytes of all the files I want to load and display the percentage loaded of total bytes and bytes loaded of all the files. Its a slideshow so i want all the files loaded and then it will play. I've looked at bulk-loader but it wasn't what I needed. The image are loaded from an xml file. I think I would need to create an Array and then find out the total bytes but I don't know how to reference the loader in the progress.

We purchased FMIS and we are encoding large 15+ hour MP4 recordings using flash media encoder. When opening these large files for playback, which have not been opened recently the player displays the loading indicator for up to 4 minutes! Once it has apparently been cached on the server it opens immediately from any browser even after clearing local browser cache. So a few questions for the experts
1. Why is it taking so long to load the file. Is it because the MP4 metadata is in the wrong format and the file is so huge? I read somewhere that Media Encoder records with incorrect MP4 metadata is that still the case?
2. Once its cached on the server, exactly how much of it is cached. Some of these files are larger than 500mb.
3. What fms settings do you suggest I change. FMIS is running on windows server R2 64 bit, but FMIS itself is 32 bit. We have not upgraded to the 64 bit version. We have 8GB of ram. Is it OK to set FMS cache to 3GB. And would that only have enough room for 3-4 large files, because we have hundreds of them.
I am using flash media server 4.5 for video streaming and genrate log files. In log file i have found the user publish point name in "x-sname" filed but this filed contains blank values in many events.This fileds contains value only in "PUBLISH,UN_PUBLISH,RECORD and PUBLISH_CONTONUE" event and other then these 4 events all events are not user related event.?I like to fetch the user bandwidth detials using these log files which user used how many bandwidth.I also like to know I can see serval files on flash log folder name "access.00.log,access001.log and admin.00.log,admin.001.log" Any one please explain what is the name convation for this filed how can i identifiy which files contains information for which date.?

I've downloaded some animated .gif images. When I try to import them to Flash and add them to the libary, and then onto my animation, they don't move, just stay still like normal images. Why is this? I've seen people import things such as boats moving across the sea in .gif files and they work in flash, why aren't mine?
View 2 RepliesI have a 1900 x 1240 .swf file that has a set of buttons on each side. Each button calls for and loads a single movie into a 900 x 600 area in the middle of the screen. I haven't had any trouble setting things up so that the .swf movies, including a converted QTVR file, all load into that 900 x 600 area. One of my buttons calls for a .swf movie that contains a zoom-in and rescale - the link for how this was created can be found at Flash Zoom In Movie Clip and Rescale. The stage for this file is set at 900 x 600. When this Zoom.swf is loaded up by pressing the button, it resizes itself to 1900 x 1240. As well as being annoying, this obliterates the view of all my buttons and interface. I just can't figure out how to make it sit in the middle of the screen at a size of 900 x 600.

Our users who are creating the videos want to track usage by user ID. Does the server log the client's user ID? Is that what c-client-id is? If c-client-id is used to store Windows user name do I need to turn on AD/windows authentication to get that info? I see that IP address is stored, but it would be simpler if the user Id were in the log file.

I am trying to debug the Flex application. I am able to set breakpoints in mxml file, and application breaks on those breakpoints. But when I set breakpoint in as files, I don't see the breakpoint marker, though in breakpoints window I am shown the line no. And when I start my debugging session, the application does not break at that point.
