ActionScript 3.0 :: Away3D And Dynamic Material Assignment?
Jun 19, 2009
I have loaded a .obj into away3D with a given material (not using the .mtl file), and through the course of rendering, I want to change the object's material. Here is how I load the .obj:
I cannot apply a texture to an object, I don't know why.( AS3 blender export script and Collada Import is not working for me either )
var loader:Loader3D = new Loader3D(); loader.addEventListener( Loader3DEvent.LOAD_SUCCESS, handler_loadSuccess ); var parser:Obj = new Obj(); loader.loadGeometry( "assets/objects/Test.obj", parser );
How do I update my Elevation Object when I change the bimapdata of its height map? I noticed that getHeightAtPosition() updates to the values of the new bitmap, but the Elevation still looks the same..
(I know it is possible to loop through all vertices in the geometry mesh and adjust them based on the bitmap, but the nice thing with Elevation is that you don't have to do that. If it can adjust to the bitmap on creation it should be able to update..)
I've successfully loaded a DAE model with its own bitmap texture material. Now I want to layer an environment map over that to give it a shiny look. I'm about ready to go out of my mind---nothing seems to work. I've created my environment map material, and added it to the DAE model, but it fails to appear at all. I've cut some holes in the original bitmap material, so that I'd be able to see if the reflection was covered over, but nothing appears to be hiding underneath
I have successfully imported a Lightwave generated Collada file into Flash using Papervision3dA material within the Lightwave file is called "Lambert4SG". How can I assign the "precise" property to eliminate the texture distortion. However, the material needs to be cast to BitmapMaterial in order set a BitmapMaterial specific property.
I have loaded a model using the 3DS parser that is already linked to a material and loads fine. I would like to make this model semi-transparent part of the time but not all of the time. I would like to just set alpha = .5 but when I target the materal that is not an option.
Here is the code and using:
var slingPar:Max3DSParser = new Max3DSParser(); var slingLoader:Loader3D = new Loader3D(); sling = new ObjectContainer3D();
I have a site that is using aspects of papervision within an otherwise 2D environment...
In my papervision 3D room which is a class loaded into a movieclip holder, the walls of the room are taken from movie clips in the library. Some of these clips also have hotspot elements within the clip. For these, I wrote the code for the individual movie materials in their own file so that I can control the mouse events easier. Everything works fine, including the movie material tracing the click event. However, in the click event I am dispatching an event to be heard on the stage. I have my listener for it in my Main file but my stage isn't ever hearing it.
I've searched around the web trying to find out how to set the primitive Plane backside material in papervision. Unfortunately without luck. That is why I'm turning to you,My question is simple (as written above):How do I set the background material of a Plane primitive in Papversion 2.0?
I'm about to go on a 1000 mile charity cycle ride. I would like to be able to upload my position to the website at the end of each day - and have the site show precisely where I am on a map of the whole route - a sort of rolling image, if you like. I'd also like to be able to upload blog material at the same time. I have ActionScript 3 available.
I was recently trying to import some collada models from 3d studio max into flash. verything looks fine, but I have some kind of error which rather shouldn't appear: Quote:'MaterialObject3D: transformUV() material.bitmap not found!'I've found some answers by googling it, but I'm not sur
I have added a DAE element to the scene created in 3D Max as I created a MaterialsList for it, the problem is when I use any shade material the element losing its flatness!
I have a cube with a material on the front face. I'm trying to create a magnifying glass in 2D for the 3D cube. Can anyone offer a suggestion for how to achieve this? I was thinking I might try to find the UV under the mouse in an OBJECT_OVER InteractiveScene3DEvent and somehow get the bitmap from the material, mask it, and move it around in relation to the mouse position- mimicking a magnifying effect. How to do that, I have no clue.
I have a cube built in papervision. It has a video on each side. I want the videos to be stopped at the beginning when it appears. I thought I could just use pause on the stream. ncStream2.pause(); no luck. When I do that I just get a black box. There is no black at the beginning of the videos. I do not think the papervision part is really a big deal. It's probably just a straight forward AS3 and video problem.
i have a big assignment to schedule in the end of the month/ i've made a game which made of pictures and videos (flv), and when i've inserted the third flv movie i tried to test my project. and when i have exported it, it reaches the end and just doing nothing: no errors, no file, just nothing. my project is on 1920X1080 resolution, i have 23 videos of 10 seconds each, that i need to insert, and the quality is 1500 bits.the first two inserted movies succeeded, but from the third and above, nothing happend.
So I have this issue I have never seen before and am unsure how to solve. I might be dumb but Im pretty sure I can do this. any ways can some one tell me why the following throws a Target of Assignment must be a refrene value?
public class test { private var t:Test = new Test();
[Code]....
There is a reason I am doing it this way. How ever I am not here to disuss that I am here to discuss why I am getting this error. loadFile(fileToLoad:String) takes a string, I am essentially giving it a string..
I wirte my own jsfl commands and put them into "Commands/myScript" folder, and Flash-IDE can recognize/run them without any problem.But when I assigned key shortcut to my commands in "Commands/myScript" folder, and restart Flash-IDE, my shortcuts will NOT WORKING.To correct this problem, I have to open Keyboard Shortcuts Setting window, switch to my own commands, not doing any change and click OK, then my shortcuts work again now(I have to do these EVERY TIME after Flash-IDE started).
I am looking to create an interface where i can load an swf file into a particluar level, in this case level2, above an empty level1 and my main movie on level0.Once the swf is loaded (into level2), i want to trigger an action causing the swf in level2 drop to level1 ... and populate level2 with a new swf. The swf in level1 would unload in a particular frame of the timeline in the level2 swf.I have tried the swapDepth action but that does not seem to be working as i intended.
I have been playing with this for a day and haven't been able to figure out the proper path to load this variable.So I have a main movie, a menu (movie clip) in it, and each menu option loads an external swf in a movie clip instance (called content) in the main movie.Loading the movies works fine.My problem is I want assign a variable that I have declared in a loaded movie in the 'content' instance.
Main Movie | - Menu (MC) -onrelease -loads movie.swf, assigns defaultpage var a value
[code]....
Here is the onrelease code I'm using
on (release) { this._parent.content.loadMovie("company.swf"); //this works this._parent.content.defaultpage = "somevalueinhere"; //this doesnt }
I am building a website which loads some collada objects for each area. But I couldn't manage to clean the memory. It seems impossible to kill the objects.
I've found some samples implementing destroy() methods for away3d internal classes, but they're not working as well.
i have a small question concerning away3D. I have some cubes with the exact same dimensions that are positioned in the same place. When i click on the stack of cubes, i want to register a click on the cube i added last. Instead of doing this, the click is registered on the cube i added first.
I have found a way to alter the cubes position in the container and have tried putting the element at the end (code below) and start of the childrenArray, but nothing seems to work. I am kinda really stuck here, so if anyone knows how to get the top level element when clicking on the stack, i'd be happy to hear.
when I try to render a cube using Away3D + Molehill, I only get a white default screen, I followed the instructions here: hhe only thing I did not do, was the part that talks about the patch, cuz If I do that I get errors like when I try to import the Sprite class, for example.Im using FB 4.5.!
[URL]..why it's impossible to me to center the pivot of this container? if I do container3D.centerPivot() all my cubes are moved from they're position and still the pivot it's not in the center, but at the center of just ONE cube (the last on the bottom-right corner). How can I center the pivot of the container properly to ITS center?
I have got a component within my flash form. I have a button that sends information to PHP (this is working). What I need is checking whether the check box is selected or not, so that if it is my button will go to one place, and if not then it will go to another (which I know will be done with an 'if' statement).
I have to create an animation for a school assignment... Anyway I'm quite new to Adobe Flash and I'm using Action Script 3.0. I have created the first segment of my animation and I'm now onto the second part but when i go to change the stage background of my second segment it changes the background of my first segment. If you don't understand this just say so and I'll rewrite.
[Im new to these forums so if I have posted in the wrong section could Admin/Mod move it.
