Flash :: Set The Alpha Of A Material Loaded With A 3DS File?
Sep 1, 2011
I have loaded a model using the 3DS parser that is already linked to a material and loads fine. I would like to make this model semi-transparent part of the time but not all of the time. I would like to just set alpha = .5 but when I target the materal that is not an option.
Here is the code and using:
var slingPar:Max3DSParser = new Max3DSParser();
var slingLoader:Loader3D = new Loader3D();
sling = new ObjectContainer3D();
I cannot apply a texture to an object, I don't know why.( AS3 blender export script and Collada Import is not working for me either )
var loader:Loader3D = new Loader3D(); loader.addEventListener( Loader3DEvent.LOAD_SUCCESS, handler_loadSuccess ); var parser:Obj = new Obj(); loader.loadGeometry( "assets/objects/Test.obj", parser );
I'm trying creating a flash navigation bar that can be edited via a simple text file. I'm able to load my different variables properly but i also want to give the user the ability to remove links. I can simply leave the variable from the text file blank and and have the text in the swf disappear but i also want to be able to set the alpha of the movieclip behind the text to zero when the variable is left blank. Alternatively, even if the user could simply set the variable to the string "Blank" and both the alpha of the dynamic text and movieclip would change to zero that would be functional as well. Here is the code i have so far.
NavLoadVar = new LoadVars(); NavLoadVar.load("navigation.txt"); NavLoadVar.onLoad = function() {
It has been years since I have used flash so I am probably a beginner again. I have just got CS3 but most of what I remember I think is action script 1.I have a website that I want to make the images load from external into swf file. I want to then control the alpha with the rollover. I got so far but... alpha works only if jpg is inside. when I have it outside it just flashes on and off on load.I need to make the my_mc to load from outside then fade in. After which I have the rollover fade in/out code below...
Button.prototype.fadeIn = MovieClip.prototype.fadeIn = function () { this.onEnterFrame = function () { if (this._alpha<100) { [code].....
I want to fade in a background with a alpha tween after it's loaded in by an UILoader. Everything seems to be working great when I do a Test Movie (in Flash) or view it in IE. However, I encounter a problem when viewing in Firefox. Somehow the alpha does'nt come up to 1(100%). Sometimes my background image is barely visable and sometimes it's at ~90%. It seems to be completely random.
Quote:
//load random background (1 to 10) var randomNumber:Number=Math.ceil(Math.random()*10); trace(randomNumber);
[code]....
I've tried increasing the final value (Regular.easeOut,0,1,2,true) and this will change something but doesn't solve the problem. I've also tried instead of fading in the background to fade out a overlaying vectorshape, but same result.Is it possible it has something to do with other script/my background img size/??.
I am loading two images dynamically I then RESIZE them according to the Stage.width I make a crossfading effect between them. Doesn't work. I get rid of the resizing, works. I need the resizing. I must be missing something, but is there an issue with changing the alpha of resized loaded images?
I am learning actionscript and having a tough time of it... Here is the script I am having problems with...the problems is that the alpha fade that I created, does not reset when a new images is loaded. Here is the script,
I've successfully loaded a DAE model with its own bitmap texture material. Now I want to layer an environment map over that to give it a shiny look. I'm about ready to go out of my mind---nothing seems to work. I've created my environment map material, and added it to the DAE model, but it fails to appear at all. I've cut some holes in the original bitmap material, so that I'd be able to see if the reflection was covered over, but nothing appears to be hiding underneath
On my stage I have 2 empty MC holders, each of them in a seperate layer. In the bottom mc holder called 'map' a map image is loaded from my XML file using MovieClipLoader. This works fine.
What I want to achieve is that on top of the map, 24 PNG images with Alpha channels are loaded into seperate MovieClips attached in MC holder 'projects'. For every PNG image a MovieClip from my library is attached in order to determine the hit shape of the PNG image. This works fine too!
However all of sudden my first 2 MovieClips with the PNG images in it dissapear as soon as all of the images are loaded. But when I roll over on of the other MovieClips they suddenly show up again and when rolling out they dissapear again!
It has nothing to do with my XML file nor my PNG images, because when I move my first 2 XML nodes (the ones that are dissapearing) to the end, 2 different MovieClips dissapear! It worked absolutely fine before but since I added 2 more MovieClips the problems started. It almost looks like I can't load more then 22 PNG images, but that would be extremely weird.
I tried creating the first half of the MovieClips in one MovieClip and the second half in a different MovieClip, but that doesn't change anything. But when I create the first half of the MovieClips in the _root and the second half in a MovieClip, only 1 MovieClip dissapears instead of 2!
I really don't get it. I'm totally confused and lost since I don't know what else I could try.
Here's my AS2 code:
Actionscript Code: var pimage = new Array();var pmc = new Array();var ptitle = new Array();var phit = new Array();var ptooltip = new Array();var pmenu = new Array();var ptotal:Number;var phalf:Number;function fillProjects() { nodepath =
I have a flash file that is 1.5mb in size. As it takes about 6 minutes for someone on dialup to load this file, I have created a smaller swf file and loaded the larger one from it but I don't want the larger one to begin to play until it's fully downloaded. How do I set this up? I have set up the action script 2 as follows: loadMovieNum("top2.swf", 0);
I have successfully imported a Lightwave generated Collada file into Flash using Papervision3dA material within the Lightwave file is called "Lambert4SG". How can I assign the "precise" property to eliminate the texture distortion. However, the material needs to be cast to BitmapMaterial in order set a BitmapMaterial specific property.
how to grab the transparency (or alpha value) of individual pixels in an embedded or loaded video? We tried copying over a frame of video into a bitmapdata object with transparency enabled. However, even though we can "see through" the video at certain spots (indicating alpha = 0 there), the alpha value comes back as 0xFF for every single pixel in the BitmapData object.Obviously alpha data is being stored inside the embedded video, but how can I actually get that value?
I have loaded a .obj into away3D with a given material (not using the .mtl file), and through the course of rendering, I want to change the object's material. Here is how I load the .obj:
I have a site that is using aspects of papervision within an otherwise 2D environment...
In my papervision 3D room which is a class loaded into a movieclip holder, the walls of the room are taken from movie clips in the library. Some of these clips also have hotspot elements within the clip. For these, I wrote the code for the individual movie materials in their own file so that I can control the mouse events easier. Everything works fine, including the movie material tracing the click event. However, in the click event I am dispatching an event to be heard on the stage. I have my listener for it in my Main file but my stage isn't ever hearing it.
I've searched around the web trying to find out how to set the primitive Plane backside material in papervision. Unfortunately without luck. That is why I'm turning to you,My question is simple (as written above):How do I set the background material of a Plane primitive in Papversion 2.0?
I'm about to go on a 1000 mile charity cycle ride. I would like to be able to upload my position to the website at the end of each day - and have the site show precisely where I am on a map of the whole route - a sort of rolling image, if you like. I'd also like to be able to upload blog material at the same time. I have ActionScript 3 available.
I was recently trying to import some collada models from 3d studio max into flash. verything looks fine, but I have some kind of error which rather shouldn't appear: Quote:'MaterialObject3D: transformUV() material.bitmap not found!'I've found some answers by googling it, but I'm not sur
I have added a DAE element to the scene created in 3D Max as I created a MaterialsList for it, the problem is when I use any shade material the element losing its flatness!
I have a cube with a material on the front face. I'm trying to create a magnifying glass in 2D for the 3D cube. Can anyone offer a suggestion for how to achieve this? I was thinking I might try to find the UV under the mouse in an OBJECT_OVER InteractiveScene3DEvent and somehow get the bitmap from the material, mask it, and move it around in relation to the mouse position- mimicking a magnifying effect. How to do that, I have no clue.
Is it possible to control one loaded SWF File eg.(MOVIE-1.swf) from another loaded SWF file eg.(MOVIE-0.swf) on a different level? eg. with a syntax like:
I have a cube built in papervision. It has a video on each side. I want the videos to be stopped at the beginning when it appears. I thought I could just use pause on the stream. ncStream2.pause(); no luck. When I do that I just get a black box. There is no black at the beginning of the videos. I do not think the papervision part is really a big deal. It's probably just a straight forward AS3 and video problem.
I'm having trouble with this code. My external swf is loading fine, it's the alpha tween that does not seem to be responding. I thought if I tween the holder movie clip that would affect the imported swf but it's not working.
import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; var swfLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var bgURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("work.swf");
I have 20 frames on a timeline, and a mc in the frames. Frame 1 the mc is _alpha 0%, at frame 20 the _alpha is 100%. A tween between the frames fades up the mc alpha. How can I change the frame 20 _alpha setting from outside the swf file? Say I need the alpha to be 60% at frame 20 BUT I can't open up the FLA, can I adjust the Alpha setting (using Loadvars perhaps) without going back into the FLA? I won't have access to the FLA (when the file is online) and I want to be able to manipulate the frame 20 _alpha setting. I have tried doing this totally in actionscript and not using the timeline, but if I can't get that to work I will need to be able to adjust the alpha parameter without editing the FLA.
