ActionScript 3.0 :: Papervison - Video Material - Pause - Videos To Be Stopped At The Beginning When It Appears

I have a cube built in papervision. It has a video on each side. I want the videos to be stopped at the beginning when it appears. I thought I could just use pause on the stream. ncStream2.pause(); no luck. When I do that I just get a black box. There is no black at the beginning of the videos. I do not think the papervision part is really a big deal. It's probably just a straight forward AS3 and video problem.

I have just a play and pause button on a website I'm creating for a client that streams one mp3 song. It works great with the code below, but the problem is that when it reaches the end, it doesn't loop back to the beginning. I would like for the user to be able to press the play button at the end to hear the song again, or include another button that rewinds back to the beginning.

i've got a problem with a Flash website that has been driving me crazy. i have a Flash website that was built for us in late 2009, it uses ActionScript 2 and i have been maintaining it in CS3 on a Mac.
the site is structured as a heirarchy of swf files, and loads XML files to specify text content, image locations, and Youtube videos. all this has worked fine until sometime in the past month or two. the problem now is that the embedded Youtube videos no longer load, although nothing has changed in the code. unfortunately i don't know exactly when the videos stopped loading.
in the Activity Window of Safari i can see the URLs for the Youtube crossdomain file [URL].. Youtube still for the video, and the Youtube player[URL].. however neither the still frame nor the player skin load.
if i run the site directly from my hard drive (with my Flash Player security preferences set to allow the swf to access the internet), the videos do load and play, so i am guessing that it is some kind of security domain issue. if i run the site in Flash CS3 in debug mode, when i navigate to a video page, although the video loads and plays, i get lots of these warnings (i've edited the path and file name):

Actionscript 2.0I have a play and stop button in a movie clip. The actual button works great but does not pause the movie and then resume playback where it left off. Instead the movie goes back to the very beginning and stop/starts there. I need the button to resume playback where the movie was stoppedlike a pause and resume button. I have a small game that plays a short instruction video and then has the player select a button which then takes them to the next level. The game has 4 levels with video. The problem is that when the swf plays all the video plays at the same time. When you get to the level you can play the play button on the skin and the video will play again and the level functions appropriately. How can I get the videos to only play when the play button on the skin is clicked? [code]...

I created a video Player and can't post the link b.c apparently you need 50 posts to, but here is a fragmented version if you can piece it together uwathletics DOT com SLASH video_guide-new Sometimes when switching between videos, the buttons stop working and you can't pause, stop or switch videos but the video keeps playing. I'm noticing it only in Google Chrome for some reason. If you mess around with it I'm sure you'll be able to replicate this error.
Now when it happens, try and refresh the page. The flash does not load... I'm just using an FLVPlayback component, and this is my actionscript when switching between videos

I'm having some problems on some systems (seems to affect mostly 64-bit systems) where videos streamed from Flash Media Server 3.5 doesn't start from the beginning. I'm using NetStream.Buffer.Full to detect when the video starts. Usually this works ok, but sometimes the video doesn't skips a couple of seconds from the beginning even though the value of NetStream.time property is 0 when this happens.

Forgive my "desperate newbie" begging, but I could really use a little help here. REALLY new to actionscript 3.0, can't really get my brain wrapped around it yet. I'm working on a kiosk presentation that allows a user to select from a number of videos. When the video is complete, I'd like playback to return to the main menu. This is running directly from a hard drive, so there's no need to dynamically load and stream video. I've placed several FLV Components at various points on the main timeline, and set the pathname for each using the Parameters on the Properties box. ALL I need to figure out is how to set up a listener to detect when the video ends and perform a navigation function that I've set up. Pretty sure it's gonna use FLVPlayback.STOPPED, but I've tried a zillion different options on how I think it's supposed to be used, but nothing is working out for me.
The clock is ticking on my deadline and I just...can't...figure...it...out. If anyone can tell me how to accomplish this I will sing your praises to the heavens. I know it's simple stuff and I promise not to bother you anymore with stupid questions.
If you have a solution for me, please be VERY specific as to where any code gets placed ("put this in frame 1 of the main timeline," and "put this in the frame where your video starts.")

I'm having great problems getting Javascript to resume a flash file.The flash file loads up and the video is set to autoplay false. For some reason, any Javascript is not recognising the AS3 function. It keeps saying the function is undefined. e.g.

The below code is used to bring up the video initially, stop it after rendering, then restart upon clicking the video component.Unfortunately the statement "myVideo1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,start1);" does not call function start1 upon the mouse click.

I have a flash video that is set to autoplay when the page loads. We've just implemented thickbox/lightbox system on it now so when you click on the video it enlarges into that new frame. Problem is, when that's done the video/audio is still playing while the video in the thichbox is playing too. This leading to ineffective listening. Does anyone know a code that would trigger the video to pause when clicked anywhere on the video screen?

Am building a video chat application and i was wondering if there are any native events for the NetStream that fire,that can help in detecting when a remote client starts/stops streaming video over his outgoing stream (NetStream) to which the other client has subscribed over P2P/RTFMP in AS3 ?I maybe able to dispatch custom messages since the two clients are already connected, but i don't want to add the extra overhead.

Maybe the title is not self explanatory but in most iphone games eg you click the correct example and you see a +100 points mc appear and rise and alpha out. I did this with a png done in photoshop BUT not all goes well - it doesn't work.

I just met a piece of error log when I was trying to resume the paused mp4 streaming. Here is the log from the server:

I'm using Red5 newest 0.9.1 final for mac os x to stream the H.264/AAC encoded MP4 file to my flash app.
And there's no problem when I'm resuming the .flv file.

So how to stop others videos in a Video Wall when clicking another video?
I'm having a video wall, which was created with a for loop so that every i a new VideoPlayer instance was created. The source was inputed through XML.

When I click the play button the clicked Video is playing great. And when I click another video on the wall it also starts playing. BUT HOW can I stop the other video(s) when another is clicked?

From the output panel I can see the stopVideoPlayer function is being launched, but I'm guessing it's being launched only in the clicked video not in All videos, even though the code is in the VideoPlayer class.
When I tried using a timer event, to close the netstream after 5 seconds it worked for all videos.
How can I make this work? Or make an event similar to the timer event? Access the netstream for all videos?

As stated above, I wanted to know if I can take a video playlist, say with 4 clips, and have FMIS create a separate file out of the 4 individual clips. Specifically, a user selects 4 (or any number) of clips to create their playlist, then at the end, a 'full length' file is created. If this isn't clear, let me know and I'll try to elaborate.

As some Internet tutorial suggested I've built a simple server-client application for FLV Video Player using PHP and Flex. The problem I encountered is that I can't change the source of the video in the mxml file using Notepad++. The source could be changed if I run Flex but It's not a good idea because I want to run different videos through this player.how to run different videos with this Flex Video Player component because my application works only for this given in the source of FlexPlayer.mxml-maybe I shouldn't use this mxml file for the different Video Sources?
