but the picture that is masked appears in theupper-left corner so only quarter of the picture is in the movie...I made it the exact same way and the exact same way as the tutorial (clouds) but ......
panning my content from left to right (with stop as intervals) then right to left (also with intervals)
1. I created an mc (name: "content")Notice in this mc, I layout 4 sets of text (like a page) from left to right
2. I created another mc (name: "pancontent_mc")
-I added a layer for "content" and created a motion tween for it to pan from left to right
-I created a mask layer on top of "content" that will show 1 set at a time
-I created an action layer that has total of 4 stops(); on each frame where the 4 sets of text will show directly under the mask.
3. maintimeline -There's only 1 layer. I placed an instance of buttons (left/right) and an instance of "pancontent_mc"
4. actions for right button, works fine and stops on each set of text.
on (release) {
this.pancontent.play();
}
5. actions for left button - none. I havent figured this out yet.

this.pancontent. - something like play previous frame until stop...

I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.

Maybe the title is not self explanatory but in most iphone games eg you click the correct example and you see a +100 points mc appear and rise and alpha out. I did this with a png done in photoshop BUT not all goes well - it doesn't work.

I have a cube built in papervision. It has a video on each side. I want the videos to be stopped at the beginning when it appears. I thought I could just use pause on the stream. ncStream2.pause(); no luck. When I do that I just get a black box. There is no black at the beginning of the videos. I do not think the papervision part is really a big deal. It's probably just a straight forward AS3 and video problem.

I have two buttons set up below the mask for LEFT and RIGHT
How to I make those buttons move the main content, and stop when It gets to the end of the masked area so you dont just keep scrolling
ALL I HAVE in my code right now, is attached the left and right buttons---

I'm using Red5 newest 0.9.1 final for mac os x to stream the H.264/AAC encoded MP4 file to my flash app.
And there's no problem when I'm resuming the .flv file.

View 2 RepliesI am playing flv files on a site. The way I am bring them is via the import video from the library (not using flv component). I am loading the videos via using netStream. So far so good. Everything works fine. I want to be able to scrub through the video by clicking and dragging left or right on the video itself. I plan to make the mouse cursor turn into a symbol that has a left and right arrow when you roll over the video hence letting you know that you can click and drag left or right to forward or rewind through the video. IS this possible? If so, how can I accomplish this?
View 5 RepliesI built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. I know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

Works great except each time I play the video, I lose about 8MB of RAM.I found numerous references to this, but haven't found a solution. I close the stream, close the connection, remove the child the vid is playing in, etc... This is for a kiosk's attract loop, where the video can play once a minute if left unattended... that's a lot of RAM gone in an hour.

As you can see after the first fullscreen the stage remains in the Top Left corner. Is there any way to make the stage return to the center? I need to do it when I return from fullscreen to normal mode... or.. what can I do?
