looking to create an image/mc slider that moves form right to left via user clicks of a left and right button.I would assume I would create an array to hold a series of mc's in (my images) and then tell the left and right buttons CLICK events to move linearly through the array (displaying next in line and previous etc.

I have a stage with a movie clip with the instance name of "mc". Currently I have a code that is suppose to move the player left and right, and when the left or right key is released, the "mc" slides a little bit. The problem I'm having is that making the "mc" move to the left works, but the exact some code used for the right doesn't.

I just don't get why when you press the left arrow its works completely fine, but when you press the right arrow it doesn't respond. It is literally the same code.
I have an input textfield, and when I click in it, all the text in the textfield moves to the left so you can't see it anymore. (Here is a screen shot of it with both textfields having "100" in them after clicking in the top one:'ve tried playing around with the different textfield properties (autoSize, condenseWhite..) and can't find one that fixes this.

If there's a box in the way, it keeps bumping into it until the box breaks and it continues moving forward.The box will have a set weight that will control how much it slides when it is bumped by the ball. The ball will be pushed back a bit when it bumps the box.I have a very specific idea and all I need is a little help starting. How would you tackle this problem?

I have figured out how to create the flash file which will overlay the page, with all elements centered, from here: kirupa forums tutorial.
The only thing I cannot figure out is how to attach the Close button which would come at the top right. AS3 is not allowing me to attach any behaviour to the button, neither does it allow me to put actionscript there. I am in dire straits.
I have a series of thumbnails that should scroll from left to right & right to left when you roll over the movie clip buttons on either side. I am trying to create a slider component where the thumb does not display until the user clicks on the bar. When the user does click on the bar the thumb would appear wherever the mouse is on the bar. I have no experience with the display package and since I am pretty new to using flash in general I cant think of any other creative way to do it. How to make objects display and display where the mouse is clicking.

I could compute their heights and successively set the y but I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it.

My vision is to have a colored square at the top of the site Im working on which should span across the entire browser window. I have created a square 1280 x 100 pixels in size and imported it to the stage, alignment is set to x=0, y=0 ad alignment. The scene is the same size as the square I 've imported. When I view my Flash creation its displayed 8 pixels from the top left corner of the browser window. The flash file only contains the square and nothing else. take a look at the 3 files I've attached: issue-scrreen1-3.jpg. The first 2 screens are my Flash, properties and library screen shots. The third screen shot is my browser window.

1. I created an mc (name: "content")Notice in this mc, I layout 4 sets of text (like a page) from left to right
2. I created another mc (name: "pancontent_mc")
-I added a layer for "content" and created a motion tween for it to pan from left to right
-I created a mask layer on top of "content" that will show 1 set at a time
-I created an action layer that has total of 4 stops(); on each frame where the 4 sets of text will show directly under the mask.
3. maintimeline -There's only 1 layer. I placed an instance of buttons (left/right) and an instance of "pancontent_mc"
4. actions for right button, works fine and stops on each set of text.

5. actions for left button - none. I havent figured this out yet.

The whole slider moves over to the left as soon as I mouse over any button I don't know why and it wont move when i click on a certain button?

how to allow the user to scroll a graphic either right or left. when the user moves the mouse to the left or right side I want the image to move the other way (if mouse is at the right the graphic moves left), but stop when when the user gets in the end of the image.
