looking to create an image/mc slider that moves form right to left via user clicks of a left and right button.I would assume I would create an array to hold a series of mc's in (my images) and then tell the left and right buttons CLICK events to move linearly through the array (displaying next in line and previous etc.
I have a series of thumbnails that should scroll from left to right & right to left when you roll over the movie clip buttons on either side. IT was working in another flash movie, but I moved it to a different flash file and now it's not working. The hit buttons within the movie clip buttons have this action script:
Regarding System.capabilities.screenResolutionX in FMX, how would I achieve a movie clip on my stage to automatically alight to the left of the screen/browser depending on the viewers screen resolution?
I have a movieclip that moves on the X axis. Thing is, I need to make certain areas of it clickable... I have already tried a couple of things but didn't succeed.
I am trying to make a flash game for a website. In the game, there is a large interactive map which I created. The map is supposed to scroll just by moving the mouse.
As a placeholder for the map, an ex-coworker created a gradient background, which moves along with the mouse. Here is the AS.
// Width and height of image var w = Stage.width * 2; var h = Stage.height * 2; // Mock up graphic that will be the image
[Code].....
how to make the MC move and pan along with the mouse? Even if it is a completely different code?
I have a movie clip that I would like to slide to the right or left depending on which button the user clicks. When I test the movie and click on the buttons, the target movie clip only moves one pixel. I want it to slide into place. What am I doing wrong?
I have a stage with a movie clip with the instance name of "mc". Currently I have a code that is suppose to move the player left and right, and when the left or right key is released, the "mc" slides a little bit. The problem I'm having is that making the "mc" move to the left works, but the exact some code used for the right doesn't.
[Code]...
I just don't get why when you press the left arrow its works completely fine, but when you press the right arrow it doesn't respond. It is literally the same code.
I have an input textfield, and when I click in it, all the text in the textfield moves to the left so you can't see it anymore. (Here is a screen shot of it with both textfields having "100" in them after clicking in the top one:'ve tried playing around with the different textfield properties (autoSize, condenseWhite..) and can't find one that fixes this.
I am wanting to make a scroller similar to the Flash Components 360PanVeiwer[url]...but I have no idea about how I can go about doing it. Could someone please explain how i might acheive this in AS3 alo I don't necessarily need it to be 360 I just want to be able to scroll through a movie clip that is much bigger than my stage and click on the buttons in side the clip. I hope that makes sence.
I'm trying make a jumping animation move to the left when I click the left arrow key and up arrow key and don't know how. I'm new to AS, just sorta winging it.
how scroll a movie clip across the stage with actionscript rather than tweening.
Basically I have a simple movie clip that consists of around 12, text only, buttons and I want mutiple instances of the movie clip to scroll left->right across the screen, repeating itself seamlessly. At the moment I am tweening it but the file size has become unmanageable.
I am trying to flip a character in a game left/right when pressing the left/right key. I have got the movieclip to do this by changing it every time you press the key, but if you hold it down it spazzes and flips back and forth
var speed:Number = 10; object_mc.onEnterFrame = function() { if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) {
I've just learned the basics of programmatic animation in Actionscript 3.0 but I can't seem to think of the right solution for this problem.Here is what I'm trying to do: A ball moves at a certain speed from the left of the screen to the right end. If there's a box in the way, it keeps bumping into it until the box breaks and it continues moving forward.The box will have a set weight that will control how much it slides when it is bumped by the ball. The ball will be pushed back a bit when it bumps the box.I have a very specific idea and all I need is a little help starting. How would you tackle this problem?
I have 2 scenes. In both scenes, I have a movie clip that moves via keyboard control. If the goto next scene is triggered by the movie clip in the first scene the keyboard control works in the second. However, if I use a button to move to the next scene then there isn't any control over the movieclip in that scene. I've traced the keyCode in the second scene and it is picked up but the switch statement doesn't run. I'm migrating to Actionscript 3.0 and updating something I created in 2.0. I would like to do it without writing a class.
I have a movie clip called column1_mc. when I click a button I need to move the movie clip in incremental moves consisting of 30 pixels.
column1_mc._y = 30;
Does not work because that is giving a _y coordinate.For example.I need to make the movie clip jump to _y 300 but make 10x30 pixel incremental jumps. Moving 10 times 30 pixel jumps.
So when you load a picture into a movie clip, it loads into the Top-Left hand corner.I really want it to load into the Top-Right hand corner. Is there a way?I am loading it via AS - not placing it manually, as I have a variety of images which are of different dimensions....
I want to load a random movie clip from the library to an empty clip on the stage called (bg_graphics). the clips in the library are called (green, blue, yellow).
I have some (Eg. 10) Movie Clips on bottom of the Stage (aligned horizontally) with different sizes (different width & height). I want them to align vertically on middle of the stage with same gap (irrespective of their sizes) in between 2 Movie Clips. Is it possible using AS3 code?
I got a flash movie clip (Walking_Man.swf) which has a "Man" character who walks but on same place. It means he doesn't move a bit on stage. Now, I would like to give a realistic look by moving him from left to right. How can I do it?
I would like to write an Actionscript 3 code for this purpose.
I'm trying to reach a body of text which i turned into a movie clip which is on the main stage, and have it scroll up/down whenever it rolls over the designated hot spots. Here's what i have.
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE,down1,false,0,true); function down1(e:MouseEvent):void { if (mouseX>=0 && mouseX<=42 && mouseY>111.1 && mouseY<146.1) {
I have a MC, which i would like to act as a button, controlled by AS. So,inside the MC is a simple animation (the button just goes left for ten frames (preferred rollOver action) and then back for another ten (preferred rollOut action).On the MC actions I put:
on (rollOver) { this.useHandCursor; this.gotoAndPlay(1);[code].......
What happens is the following: on mouse over the mc goes left, on mouse out the mc goes back to its original place.It works exactly as it is supposed to. Exactly until you try again... if you move the mouse away from the mc (onRollOut), before the animation reaches the end, it goes bezerk.what happens and also how the animation can be done using only AS (with some for loop or function or something and chaning _x property)?
I'm trying to get an object to increase in size the lower it goes down the stage, and decrease in size the high it moves up the stage.
It only needs to increase or decrease by a small amount. Basically, it's for a game character. To ad realism to his movements, it would be nice to have this feature.
