Flash CS4 :: Top/left Alignment Is 8 Px From Top/left In Browser?

My vision is to have a colored square at the top of the site Im working on which should span across the entire browser window. I have created a square 1280 x 100 pixels in size and imported it to the stage, alignment is set to x=0, y=0 ad alignment. The scene is the same size as the square I 've imported. When I view my Flash creation its displayed 8 pixels from the top left corner of the browser window. The flash file only contains the square and nothing else. take a look at the 3 files I've attached: issue-scrreen1-3.jpg. The first 2 screens are my Flash, properties and library screen shots. The third screen shot is my browser window.

I have created a dynamic text area that populates via an xml feed.it works really well. I found the solution from someone here.the only thing is I have the languages change from english-russian-arabic.this works well but arabic needs to be align from the right.

i hav a left right moving thumbnail gallery from xml, i need that on the last image image come on focus from the left side so automatically the left button will be disable or opacity goes 0 anything and same thing from right side also.

I've some components with dynamic heights. They have to be aligned with respect to the bottom of my canvas container, so I cannot set the same y for all components.
I could compute their heights and successively set the y but I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it.

I have an Image called "PanoramaImage" (which is very long in width). I want this image to move from right to left & from left to right automatically.
I am using flash as3. I am loading this image from the same folder where the .fla file exist. my image to move by using Up & Down arrow keys.

panning my content from left to right (with stop as intervals) then right to left (also with intervals)
1. I created an mc (name: "content")Notice in this mc, I layout 4 sets of text (like a page) from left to right
2. I created another mc (name: "pancontent_mc")
-I added a layer for "content" and created a motion tween for it to pan from left to right
-I created a mask layer on top of "content" that will show 1 set at a time
-I created an action layer that has total of 4 stops(); on each frame where the 4 sets of text will show directly under the mask.
3. maintimeline -There's only 1 layer. I placed an instance of buttons (left/right) and an instance of "pancontent_mc"
4. actions for right button, works fine and stops on each set of text.
on (release) {
this.pancontent.play();
}
5. actions for left button - none. I havent figured this out yet.
on (release) {
this.pancontent. - something like play previous frame until stop...
}

I have a flash gallery which works fine, the images for the gallery are determined by .xml files. Problem is when the image is not exactly the same size as the area defined in the .fla it defaults against the top and left, not the center of the space.

I have a swf object that is to the left of a header div that is 1000px wide. the swf is 303px wide. How would I make the swf on the left hide behind the window when the windows is only, say, 1050px wide?
Kinda like how this one is: [URL]
notice how the object get hidden, still plays, but doesn't lose it's aspect ratio?
How does someone do this?

In most web-based programming languages you can use the left() and right() functions to move through a string and pull out individual characters. In ColdFusion, I could do this:
left("hello", 1) and it would produce "h"
I could also do:
right("hello", 1) and it would produce "o"
Is there a conversion for this method in Flash? I want to pick the first letter of a string and capitalize it.
In ColdFusion I would do it like this:
uCase(left("hello", 1)) -- and it would give me: "H"

I would like to set a fixed width for an input textfield with an embedded font. I would like to have the option to left-, right-, or center-justify the text. This is proving difficult.
If I set myTextField.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;, I get left-justified text, but the textfield width changes with each keystroke. Same trade-off with TextFieldAutoSize.RIGHT and TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER.
Now, if I use TextFieldAutoSize.NONE, then I can fix the width and height of my textfield, making it the size I want... but the cursor is always blinking in the middle of the textfield. What's the secret to justifying that cursor to the left [or right] and the textfield staying the size I initially set it to?

I have a 100% flash site that I would like to layer a png logo above. I would like the logo to appear top left of the window at all times, above the flash movie.
I have looked online for hours and found wmode tips, etc but I'm a beginner coder and am unsure of how to piece it all together.
I created the flash index.html page within flash CS3, using publish settings and would like some step by step info or guidance on how to achieve the logo png. layer above the movie.

The problem is that when I am moving left and up, "pink"-a "blue"-s and "green"-d work. When I am moving down and right, none work. When I am moving right and up, only "pink"-s and "blue"-d work. I have tried changing the order of my code but it does not work, What am I missing?

I purchased a Flash template and went into edit it in Macromedia Flash CS5.
I imported an image into the library and swapped the image with an image that was in the template I bought. The image I imported into the library is is a little longer and wider than the image I am replacing. Yet it still fits nicely on the page visually.
When I upload the SWF and HTML for the flash site that I just changed the image in, the flash site hugs the left side of the display screen and is not centered. Also the scroll bar on the right is no where to be found.
I then uploaded the original Flash SWf and HTML I bought without changing the image, the flashsite stays centered on the screen and there is a scroll bar on the right. So I decided to make another image the size of the one I was trying to replace in the flash template. I swapped the image out after bringing the new one into the library with import. Still the same problem.
The original template said pre-school and was trying to change to Inspire pre-school with a logo. A picture file that zooms in on the screen.

I've been designing a Flash animation for a client, and the animation looks perfect on my computer. However, It's having problems on my client's computer though. I'm a bit newbie to Flash, and I'm experiencing strange problem. I have a simple flash application, which when run in Flash player looks like this
the thing is, when i resize the Flash player window, a black frame becomes visible to the left and top of the stage. is it possible that these black areas start appearing on the right side, and the stage to be fixed on the left? The strange thing is that these black areas are not part of the stage, the (0,0) coordinate is there where white area starts and not in the corner of the window, and that's causing me problems.
