ActionScript 3.0 :: Click Event Inside Of Another Movie?

when i click on a button an info box pops up (test2) then ive put a button to close it again inside (test2) called (closebtn) its the cloing it again that i cant seem to get my head around. inside (test2) the close btn is on frame 14 after a tween that makes the box pop up and i want when you press this button to goto frame 15 to start the closing tween..

I'm trying to add an event listener inside an object but it doesn't seem to work. other OO languages it makes sense for an object to be able to attach events etc itself rather than have some external action do it.Here's an example of what I'm trying to do:

This gives an error "1120: Access of undefined property MouseEvent." suggesting that I don't have access to MouseEvent from within the instansiated object.What I can do is create an instance of the class from the Document Class for example and then do the following:
I have a VBox, I assigned a handler to click, and inside the VBox I have components such as images and texts with no handler assigned for click. Would the click function be called when I click on the text and image? If not how can I make it so without assigning handlers individually, but on the container level?
I'm making a desktop application with Flash and MDM Zinc and I've made a menu that works with both mouse and keyboard event. The only problem is that when I run my movie, it won't accept any keyboard event until I click once anywhere on my movie. Searching these forums yesterday I came across a javascript solution, but this is only when putting the movie on a web page.
I have a problem with the startDrag function I'm using in AS3. Right now I have a movie clip which is made up of 4 different layers. I export the movie clip, create and object of it, add in an event listener for mouse clicks that calls the startDrag function. However, instead of dragging the entire Movie Clip and all of its parts, it only grabs and drags one layer around, which breaks the different parts of the Movie Clip up.

This is my function for the MouseClick event on the MovieClip. I initiate the startDrag event, but here it will not drag the entire Move Clip for some reason it only drags the different pieces inside the clip.
I'm trying to create a little game in with AS2 that makes the user hit targets. When a target has been hit, the scores amend accordingly (1 point is added to the score). Some of these targets are static, so I have made them buttons. Others are supposed to be moving around the stage, so they're movie clips. Now, with the buttons, my script works beautifully: The scores amend every time I release the button, just as I want them to. I have tried making the movie clips perform the same actions and have succeeded partly, BUT:
1) When I click on a movie clip, the scores will amend only once (i.e. the first time I click on the clip). No matter how many more times I consecutively click on it, nothing happens. It only changes the scores again when I click on another button or other item on the stage and then go back and click on the mc. But I want the movie clip to react the same as the buttons, i.e. add 1 point every time I click on it. (Consecutive clicks = points added consecutively according to number of clicks)
2) When I try to go from the button to the movie clip and then back to the button, the scores should amend automatically with EVERY click. But what happens is, for instance: I click on the movie clip and +1 is added to the score. Then I click on a button - and actually, what it should do is add another +1 as soon as I go and click on that button. But it doesn't. It does not react when I switch from clicking on mc to clicking on button. After having clicked on the mc, I have to click on the button *two* times in order to make it work, because it will not react upon the first click.

On the main timeline I have another MC which loads a DataGrid mcomponent.I have a ListEvent.ITEM_CLICK attached the DataGrid.When a row is clicked, I want to replace the ribbonMC clip I created with a different MC.However, no matter what I do I cannot seem to properly remove the clip and add it to the main timeline in its place.I have tried getChildByName() in order to grab the clip:

But all I seem to get is a null object, so it cannot be unloaded. Even if I did grab it, I cannot seem to figure out how to add my new MC to the main timeline from inside the current movie clip in any event. Since _root is no longer used in AS3.
I am trying to learn JavaScript and I am wondering whether JavaScript has a event listener just like ActionScript's ENTER_FRAME. Basically, I want this event listener to listen "all the time" not just wait for any particular instance (mouse click, keyboard event) of event.
on clicking the Search Icon , a search bar will be visible (ON) if user click anywhere on the stage the search bar will be NO visible(OFF) OR user click on ICON again the search bar will be OFF but it Stage CLICK is triggered without clicking
I just started playing around with as3 and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However the mouse click event does not appear to work unless I click a movieClip object I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?

I'm moving on to my next massive programming project and I'm trying to decide whether I should code it in as 2.0 or 3.0. I came across the new click event model in 3.0. Right now it's looking like a pain in the butt to me. So now I have to make a function and add it as an event listener? what the hell? What's the benefit? I understand stuff like this makes AS a more complete language but it's kinda annoying.

I have a parent sprite that contains several child sprites. I have attached mouse click and mouse down event amongst others to the parent sprite. And in the listeners I check which child has been targeted using the "event.target" property. However It seems that the mouse click event does not trigger for some reason. Is it possible that the mouse down event is eating up the click event. Is this a know issue in as3 and is there a possible workaround?

My stage has about 25 buttons on it. Each button when pressed to tweens the background to some random x/y coordinates and then loads an external swf file.This is all working, but the timing is off. How can I wait for the initial background tween to end before I make the loader call to the .swf file.Currently each button's behavior is called on the MouseEvent.CLICK event which calls a function that knows its unique filename.swf. I know you can add the MOTION_FINISH even to the tween event but then I would have to call a new function and lose track of the button that initially called it.
I have an event listener for a custom event type. This custom event overrides the clone method as required.In this event listener I want to dispatch an instance of a different type of event... a different custom event instance altogether. the problem is that when i click on the first button loads ok but when click on second still showing the first movie clip in the back ,,,,, i have try everything without luck ,,,, i guess i need to keep reading but will like to find an answer to this situation ,
I would like to know how to make it so when you click a button, it goes to a different frame within a MOVIE CLIP. Kind of like gotoAndPlay but not a frame in the timeline. I would like it to move to a different frame in a movie clip.
