ActionScript 3.0 :: Create A Second Instructions Page?

I hate to be a total newb but the deadline for this game is coming up way too soon for me to figure it out myself.This game is for uni and it is my first experience with making a flash game and my second flash project total. Sorry.All I want to do is create a second instructions page from what I already have but it will not play properly. The syntax is correct, I created the object before I called it but I am still getting Error #1009.Here is the related code:

What I'm trying to do is create buttons in one swf that load another swf and also give instructions to begin playing from a certain frame in that swf. The target swf has a preloader on frame 1 and then a movie clip that contains a video in frame 2. Depending on which button the user presses the video will be cued up ready to play at different frames. I think it may need an if statement ie if x=34 then goto frame 34, but I can't seem to pass the variables to the loaded swf. In the zip file is an example of what I'm trying to do.

On Linux (Debian Lenny) the installation instructions for the *installer*.tar.gz download file say:Unpack file.Navigate into directory or folder created.Run install program.But no directory created; no install program - what the hell is going on??What you get is a single *.so file. What do you do with it?I got it to work in the past, but perhaps by a different method.

Looking at the AVM2 specs (here, page 66-67) i found out that there are two instructions which do something different but they have the same opcode:[code]Both have the same format (no arguments). Both have the same stack transition. Since these instructions do something different i am a bit confused. Does someone know what are the correct opcodes?

I am trying to create a flash pre-loader exactly like the one in the tutorial at this link: ( I am using CS4 and AS3 as he is in the video)

When I go to simulate download, the loading page screen will show as the page loads, but the dynamic text fields will not update or show anything - they are just whited out as if they are not there.
I have checked the code about ten times. And I have also named all the movie clips exactly has he has them named in the movie. The only problem I can think of is that I am not if I need to name my .swf file that plays on frame two to something else or somehow "connect" it to the action script or loading page so the loading page understands what the dynamic text needs to load. If this is not the problem, can anyone think of something else?

I have button Alpha. When clicked, it tells movie clip One to move to y coordinate zero. This actionscript works fine.But when I place the button inside movie clip Beta, no longer can it tell movie clip One to move. I keep reading references to relative paths and such, but i can't seem to make it work. I've attached the MX 2004 file to show what's (not) going on.

I know this cant be too difficult, but please entertain me I want to create a button on my web page for zoom in and out (the whole web page).
In IE you can achieve this by doing the following - "Press and hold the contol button and then press the - (minus) button (Ctrl -)." or click on the view option at the top of the browser>>zoom>>zoom out.

I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,

and then stops on the stage. When you click the green button second,

_root.transitionClip2.play();

it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I�m mostly a beginner with flash actionscript. A site we advertise on asks me to embed a clicktag script to help them track the stats for each banner. I�ve read the directions on macromedia/adobe, I�m still a little confused. I have to make the whole banner clickable, so can I just create a movie clip on the top layer, make the alpha 0% and add this script to it to do so?:

create an age verification page but I don't really have the AS knowledge to finish it up.
Problems:
I don't know how to link the text to the appropriate website when they are verified. EX: "You may enter" linking to the site. "You are not of age" linking to disney.com or something.
Also, when there are no digits entered, it verifies the user of age.

I need to create an Events page that the is dynamic so the client could add events and pictures later on. This is the how the page looks like: [url]... The function that he needs is to be able to add text in the scroll portion on the left side, then when you click on the heading of the text it opens images on the right side and you could flip thru them using the arrows below them with a page number on top. All this needs to happen outside flash since he wont know where to go.
I have no clue how to start this or what to do! I know it will need to load pages dynamically and use xml for the images navigation. I'm not sure whats the best way to go about that, plus how do you make the heading link to the images on the right side.

I have created a form that a user fills out and the answers they give are added to a email as text. This works great but now the client wants the text answers in a PDF not just as text in an email. My question is, is there a way to create a PDF from the answers on a form from within the Flash program. The answers are saved in variables then added as text to the email.

I'm making a website in dreamweaver with flash in it, I want to link an image that I have in flash to another page (.html) that I have in dreamweaver. When I first used flash and dreamweaver I had done it, but honestly now I completely forgot and can't figure it out. I know I didn't use any action scripts. I just put the page name (???.html) somewhere and it worked.

I am into the process of creating a Digital Scrap book(Interactive) with Action script. I have four QT movie files created with After Effects. I simply want to make an Interactive scrap book for the school children so that when they click a button(or even Text) on the Home page, that page turns and plays the corresponding video. Once the video is finished it goes back again to the Home page.

I'm trying to create something like a login page with errors messages. Scenario: Username txt field is restricted to at least 5 characters long and can only contain letter Home telephone can only contain numbers and us restricted to 8 digits. If either 4 of these rules are not satisfied an error message appears and user can not login My codes are here. could anyone help me to where i went wrong and show me the right way of doing this, for this is my first time doing ActionScripting.

I have to create a web page which can be set to full screen(I mean the real full screen,not like press the F11),in the full screen there should be some words displaying.
Take the [URL]
Normally,it show its contents(the questions),but someday,maybe a VIP come to visit the page,so we want to replace the whole page with a welcome screen.
Of course we can replace the [URL] (suppose it is the index page) with the welcome text(welcome xxx to our site...) in the server side.
However this is not convenient,and the text can not be full screened.
So I thought the flash,I can add a controller button at the page,when required,I click this button,and set the welcome words,then a flash will start to play with the sepcified words in a full screen model. It would be better if the flash can show the text with a Animation.
I have never did the flash development,so I want to know if this is possible?
BTW,can all the clients change to flash with juse one click?
I mean I click the controller button,then all the client who is visit this page should see the contents replaced by the flash at the same time.
