View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a simple interactive animation for a website that consists of three rollover areas on a page. When you mouse over an area, a bit of explanatory text is revealed by animating a mask over some text. The text is left displayed until a mouseover of a different area occurs.Let's call the three mouseover targets A, B, and C.A MOUSE_OVER event listener is registered for all three targets. In the event handler for each, I'm following a pattern like this:
Code:
A.transform.colorTransform = highlighted;
B.transform.colorTransform = notHighlighted;
[code].....
I've got a MovieClip containing several child clips (images and text). I'm trying to scale this parent clip very slowly - from 102% down to 98% - this works, however the child movie clips are all scaling a bit jerkily - like they're trying to stick to pixels or something. What's the cure for this? The scaling is done by using a motion tween on the timeline by the way. I've tried to tick "Cache Bitmap" but that makes no difference. If I used the 3D motion tween, there is no jerkyness. But I need to publish to flash 9, so can't use that!
View 1 RepliesI need a very special component written in ActionScript 3. It is a rectangle filled with a bitmap. The bitmap is loaded from an external URL based on some programmed rules. The textured rectangle is then animated using Flash CS. Animation is performed using rotate/translate/scale/skew tools. How to create such a component and add it to Flash CS library?
View 1 Replieswe are trying to create an old fashioned scale in Flash CS4. We need to be able to randomly place objects on either side of scale and have scale tip appropriately. Has anyone attempted to create the code for a such a project?Also does anyone have any experience with code that will allow the end user to randomly place/move objects in the SWF file?
View 1 RepliesI've created a flash file which loads an image using loadMovie, this all works fine but what I need to be able to do is load different size images into the swf. I have tried changing the size of the swf in the embed tag and using the 'noscale' option, however the stage appears to be moved to the center (see screenshot), I need it to be at the top left.
I've also tried passing the new width and height to the swf via flashvars and then setting the size of the stage to these values, however this makes no difference to the outcome.
how I can create a flash movie that I can scale using the width and height parameters that doesn't scale the content and keeps the content in the top left corner?
I would like to create my page links so when I roll over the text(link) enlarges and then once pressed a swf animation plays.When it stops it automatically directs to the desired page.
View 5 RepliesWhy is it that when you animate a photograph (especially animating scaleX or scaleY), it looks so crappy? I've tried caching as a bitmap, turning off compression, etc, but not What's the story here?
View 5 Replieshow to do a rotating flash animation for a client's website using CS4.Basically it is a "postcard" type image with four corners having four pictures, with one changing every 5 seconds. Each corner is hyperlinked to a section on their website.I've managed to figure out pretty much all of it using the great amount of tutorials on the web, however one issue has me stumped.At the end of the animation, it flips back to the start (which is the desired behaviour) for an instant but then it redirects to a different page (as if one of the quadrants had been clicked).
View 1 RepliesI'm wanting to link a flash animation to a page on my site. These are the steps i have taken so far Open flash , create New symbol (choose button) named it flashflashbutton Then still in symbol section, File import.
I then import a flash animation I made .swf.Now when I import it the animations frames stretch across the up, hit, ect. I am sure this isn't the correct way to do it.How do I import an animation and put all the keyframes (hence the animation ) just into the up mode.
As atm when i go to scene view, open librarary and drag it into scene view. Then test movie, It plays one frame if i hover over it it plays another frame.I assume the answer to this is sumhow put all the frames in the up mode, and another anim on the hit mode?
If I create an animation in Flash CS5 that is 600 by 400 pixals and I publish the SWF file, on execution it plays fine at that size.
If I maximise the window, the animation stays the same size and I can see the spillage pieces etc, that I do not want to be seen.
how do I set it so that the animation scales when the window is maximised?
I have a flash animation that plays on the index page.My client wants it to only play when someone first gets to their site. (each visit)So if they go on to the contact page and then back to the homepage, the flash movie will stay on frame one.
View 4 RepliesIs it possible to have flash animation work uninterrupted on my site (in some overlay at the border of the browser) while user browses my site pages?The only way I see is to put animation onto <frame> but the geometry of such layout is very limited.
View 1 RepliesI have been playing with this code for a couple of days and I am getting "decent" results but not consistent. Basically I want to get the users resolution and divide it by the optimum resolution and scale the page. What I am trying to attempt is that items stay the same size regardless of resolution. I realize that I will get some distortion but when testing the distortion doesn't seem to effect the overall look of the page. If I stay away from really small fonts I seem ok. Regardless you get some distortion in lower resolution anyways.
Here is the code.
var userResX:Number = System.capabilities.screenResolutionX;
var noXScaleRes:Number = 1440;
var swfXSize:Number = 1000;//stage width
var thisXRes:Number = ((userResX / noXScaleRes) * 100);
var xCntr:Number = (swfXSize / 2) - (((thisXRes * swfXSize) / 100) / 2);
[Code] .....
Now when I test on resolutions with similar aspect ratios 1.7 as the optimum resolution the content scales to respectable "result". But when the aspect ratio is closer to 1 to 1 I don't it squares my content. Since I am handling the x and y separate I am not sure why it would?
My client wants so have a loading animation/movie (already created that in Flash CS5) on the website's start page (root, '/' - the first thing you see when you go to domain.tld).When the animation's finished it should forward to another page (i.e. the real page with the content), e.g. domain.tld/somepage.htm I can do this with, for example, getURL() in Flash and it works fine.
But. Is it possible to kind of preload domain.tld/somepage.htm so the content (almost) instantly appears after the loading animation's finished?Also, a fade-out-fade-in effect would be nice, i.e. the loading animation fades out and the content of domain.tld/somepage.htm fades in.
I have a Flash video which sits in a small box on the side of my website and plays video.When the user clicks on a 'View larger' button I need it to display in a lightbox - but continue playing from the same place.A simple piece of jquery like this works fine to move the video to another DIV (such as a jquery UI popup window).
$('.holder', dialog).append($("#DemoVideo")[0]);
However in Chrome + FF it restarts the video from the beginning - basically it reinitializes the <object>.My solutions are either : Position it absolutely with CSS in the first place and move it to the popup with CSS and some nasty JS event resize handlers. Remember the position and just instantiate a new video player and make the user live with the delay of rebuffering
Have small thumbnails that will enlarge when the mouse is over them and shrink when it's not. For some reason sometimes only the X or Y will scale or the buttons won't work correctly. The animation will pop and I don't know how to fix it. The only reason I drop the opacity on all the others is because sometimes other images will get in the way.
View 2 RepliesI used to make fullscreen Flash websites, using 100x100 width/height and "No Scale" on Publish Settings.Everything is ok on a browser, since I can position elements using relative coordinates for liquid layouts.Now I have to make a fullscreen standalone .exe projector.To get fullscreen I use fscommand("fullscreen", "true") on the first frame and it works.
The problem is:If I create a 1024x768 Flash movie, even with 100x100 and "No Scale" activated, the movie remains at 1024x768.So, if I trace stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight, those remain respectively at "1024" and "768", but I need for the movie to get the max width and max height available on the system.
In the browser it happens automatically, but in the Flash projector it doesn't. how can I get the movie to match the exact size of the screen where it runs?I've tried with Capabilities.screenResolutionX and Y but there is no way (and I think it's normal) to set the stage.width and stage.height properties on runtime.
ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.
View 1 RepliesFairly new to this sort of thing. I am making a page where the background needs to scale to the browser. Background is a mc. Here is the code:
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
Stage.align = "C";
sizeListener = new Object();
[Code]....
Now what i've noticed is that when it first loads into the browser it does not scale. When I manipulate the browser by pulling up on the bottom of the browser the background distorts and the top of the background is hidden. When I slide the left side of the browser to the right the background again becomes distorted and slightly hidden on the right edge of the browser.
By the way it seems like it ignores the actionscript when it first loads. Then when I first try and do a resize it follows the above actionscript once . Then it ignores it for any future resizes.
I'm building a flash as3 portfolio website for myself. I've got it almost finished but I'm having a problem with my close buttons.
The way I have it set up - each piece of artwork animates to center screen as it fades in when you click it's thumbnail. This part works fine.
I want my flash content to scale when I scale my browser window.
View 5 RepliesI have a fairly decent grasp of flash, but not so much of the action script side of things. I need to make a banner similar to the one featured here:[URL]..
As you can see, the image is jerky and juddery when it scales down. From what I can find out, I think I need to use the pixel snapping feature to help make it a smoother fade, but I haven't got a clue how to write the actionscript for it, or where to put the actionscript. Can anyone give me any pointers?
I'm a novice in flash when it comes to actionscript and xml. Let me explain what I have so far and what i want to do with it. I have a basic flash animation, which constists of 12 images horizontally scrolling across the movie stage.It is animated to scroll from right to left at a speed of 1. I would like to update all those images once a month and so I'm looking for a way to do it using xml. Has someone done this before? It will make it a lot easier to update, rather than have to manually swap out pictures in the flash file.
View 7 Repliesis it possible to create a flash application which would allow people to make small animations?
1. several "images" saved then played back in flash somehow
2. several images used to generate an animated gif which is then saved on the server
I've built a photo gallery that resizes with the window browser. The only problem is that when I first open up the window the gallery is not properly scaled to fit the window size. I was given a tip that when you place resizeListener(null); in the code. This worked, but the only problem is that the image scales disproportionately when the window loads. I've noticed that when I tinker around with some of the code (highlighted in RED below) it effects this, but I have not figured out how to resolve it.
import gs.*;
import fl.transitions.*;
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;

create this animation in flash using AS3: [URL] - as the tutorial I followed didn't work. Basically I have 3 menus (no submenus) at the top and 3 content boxes which I would like to turn as in the example, depending on the menu item selected.
View 5 RepliesI'm writing a private website.I want to add an animation of a paper (which moves a bit in its conrners).I paln the user to add some text in the text area in that animated paper.My program will read the text and save it.The next time the user comes I'll show him this animated paper with the text he wrote.
1) As a newbie to animation. Should I use flasf? Is there a nice freeware and simple alternative? I saw this site but thought maybe someone can tell from his own experience
2) How can I include text area in an animated paper?
3) How can fill animated paper with the saved data later on ?
I'm trying to create a really fluid animation in flash, how do you think the designer animated the arms of the black shadow guy that appears right at the begginning of this game? [URL]. That's really fluid, did he just make some sort of shape tween? Or the Cyanide and Happiness series on youtube, how did they animate like that?
View 3 RepliesI would like to know if its possible to create an isometric animation in flash like the example below. In case I want to create an isometric figure like the first two objects shown and by mouseover they should lift up to the last figure shown. Its no problem to create the basic figures with Photopshop, but I dont know how to animate them in flash cs5.
