ActionScript 3.0 :: Display Photos In Slideshow Based On Time Of Day

Sep 19, 2010

I'd like to create a banner for my website using a slidshow but I'd like for the photo's that are displayed to be daylight images during the daytime and nightime images during the evening hours from the viewers perspective. These images will, of course, be outdoor pictures, but I cannot seem to figure out how to select the picture elements to display based on the users time shown on their computer.

How to create some action script that will display either an image or a SWF based on the time of day ie. Day and Night and the seasons ie. Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall.

I know it has something to do with creating a file that is .as and making sure you have the correct class Id. Looked at a few tutorials on creating calenders and image galleries but can not figure out how to combine the two to just show the image or SWF.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Incorporate In A Xml Based Slideshow(slideshow.zip) To Show Image Loading Process?

I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.

1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Merge The Photos On The Slideshow?

Aug 24, 2005

I keep battling the slideshow, and now I have some other doubts. I tried to find the answer to this on other threads on this forum, but couldnïż½t find anything. So, here it goes:I now have a photo slideshow where one photo fades out, and the next one follows, fading in.Between the fade out and fade in, there is a short interval of white, the background of the flash animation. I have to replace this white interval, with the fadeout of the previous image, so that the first and the next image sort of merge. How can I do this?lso, on the very last image of the presentation, there is a jump back to the first image, without the fadeout. How can the loop be made so that the last image fades out too, and not simply disappear?Here is the code Im using right now:

PHP Code:
delay = 3000; //-----------------------function loadXML(loaded) (loaded) xmlNode = this.firstChild; image = [];

Simple Slideshow - Placing Photos In Frames

Dec 27, 2009

I am very new to flash CS4. I am preparing to develop a simple photo slideshow, set to music (3 minute song), with three buttons containing pull down menus which will link to pdf files. This is a project I have taken on to develop an informational CD for the High School I work at.

Here is my question:
When building a photo slidshow with 35-40 photos what is the best practice? Is it to place them all on one layer, or each on its own layer? Also I did see the set interval method from tutvid placing the photos in frames next to each other.

ActionScript 2.0 :: All Photos Not Loading In Flash Slideshow

Make An Animation To Display Quite A Few Photos?

Mar 14, 2010

I haven't used Flash in quite a while and wanted to make an animation to display quite a few photos. As i'm out of practice, linking videos kind of skipped my mind and therefore my first file which has lots of images in has become quite heavy and slow to run.My problem is... Is there a quick and easy way i can directly switch one part of an animation with another, keeping all the tweens and actions that are on it? (EG I want to switch out images for the same images saved as smaller files)

Or, is there a way i can scale down the movie in size to make it run smoother? I am going to have quite a lot of photos in a series of linked videos, but as i forgot about it, my first video has too much content and is too big in file size. It can be quite big as it's only for use on my mac (not online) but i still need it smaller as it won't run smoothly.

ActionScript 2.0 :: XML-based Slideshow?

Nov 2, 2007

I'm building a portfolio website for my wife and I. I've basically taken Kirupa's tutorial (XML photo gallery) and have tried to use it. I have several sections, or galleries, that I would like to show after clicking the "portfolio" button. But the problem right now is that only the first image from each gallery gets loaded into the main viewing area, even though the thumbnails themselves seem to work fine. Here is our site as it stands now.

The thing is, the site works locally on my computer, but once I upload it to the server, it doesn't work.I have removed some of the extraneous code from the original tutorial which I wasn't using, mainly so that it would be easier for me to read and work with. And I've checked and double checked to make sure I didn't delete something necessary. As I said, the site works locally on my computer.

I thought the problem had to do with relative or absolute paths, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think what's happening is that the arrays for each of the galleries, for some reason beyond my understanding, are not being set-up correctly. The first image for each gallery shows up fine, but subsequent images do not.In my main movie, I placed an empty movieclip called "myHolder" on the stage. When a user clicks one of the sections "advertising," "design," etc. under the main "portfolio" button, one of the five gallery movieclips from the library is attached to the myHolder movieclip. Inside each of those library movieclips is the slideshow set-up with the code as I've altered it. Within the code is an xmlData.load("Some.xml") pointer that points to one of five different xml files that contain the appropriate linkage for each gallery.
