I keep battling the slideshow, and now I have some other doubts. I tried to find the answer to this on other threads on this forum, but couldnïż½t find anything. So, here it goes:I now have a photo slideshow where one photo fades out, and the next one follows, fading in.Between the fade out and fade in, there is a short interval of white, the background of the flash animation. I have to replace this white interval, with the fadeout of the previous image, so that the first and the next image sort of merge. How can I do this?lso, on the very last image of the presentation, there is a jump back to the first image, without the fadeout. How can the loop be made so that the last image fades out too, and not simply disappear?Here is the code Im using right now:

The photographer at this site [URL] wants me to modify the slideshow on the home page. He wants to replace some of the old photos with new ones. Can I do this with Adobe Flash CS3? If so, please point me to tutorials that will get me up to speed. Or maybe it's too difficult for a Flash newbie?

I am very new to flash CS4. I am preparing to develop a simple photo slideshow, set to music (3 minute song), with three buttons containing pull down menus which will link to pdf files. This is a project I have taken on to develop an informational CD for the High School I work at.
Here is my question: When building a photo slidshow with 35-40 photos what is the best practice? Is it to place them all on one layer, or each on its own layer? Also I did see the set interval method from tutvid placing the photos in frames next to each other.

But now the problem: when I load this slideshow, it shows only 3 photos, whereas there are 10 in my folder which I need to show. After the 4th photo I get only black.... it doesn't continue.

I am designing a slideshow comprised of photos, video and some animations. I decided to use Flash because I thought it would offer me more flexibility than other options and because I have some experience coding in ActionScript 2.0 (though oddly very little experience designing swf's).
Here's the thing. In frame 1 I want a video to play. I can make that happen using this code, copied straight from the help:
I'd like to create a banner for my website using a slidshow but I'd like for the photo's that are displayed to be daylight images during the daytime and nightime images during the evening hours from the viewers perspective. These images will, of course, be outdoor pictures, but I cannot seem to figure out how to select the picture elements to display based on the users time shown on their computer.
How would someone go about getting the actionscript to look for another field in the xml file that had a Url link to a webpage for each image that would be activated by clicking on that particular image.
I have a slideshow and photogallery that I want to put on a CD and give out at tradeshows. The user can manually view the photos in each section or "play all". Right now all of the photos and text are listed in an XML file on a server. I don't want the info to be pulled from my server when someone plays the CD. Does the XML in the actionscript have to be a direct path [URL]? or can I store the XML files on my cd have have the info pulled from there?
What I'm wanting to do is set the scale of a textfile (putted in an mc) at 200% and scale with a prototype on release of a button to 100 precent (its height).
I am making a quiz/game, and it works like this, two teams that have to take over the united states, by answering history questions, so right now I have it were when you click on a state, it takes you to a question (on a different frame in the main timeline), then I have a problem, if you get the question right it takes you to the "board" of the United States (that works), but when you are back the color of the state should change its color to red (on frame of the clip) if south got it and blue (another frame of the clip) if north got itBut instead i changes back to grey (default color, all start grey to begin with). I don't and can't seem to figure this out
Is there a way where I can compile or build different frame rates into the various layers I create using an action script?? I.e. If there are say six layers running in a particular player, each layer should be running at a different frame rate, independent of each other
The problem am facing is am playing multiple media content in multiple layers (masked, so that it appears as if all the layers are playing in the same level) and each media content played in different layers needs to be played at a different frame rate to get a good visual effect!
I'm creating a basic game - snake. I have 2 layers, intro and game. I want the intro to start then you click 'Play' and it goes to game on 2nd frame. However they're both overlapping each other... [URL] How can I get 'game' to start at frame 2? (I've tried deleting frame 1, etc.)
Is there anyway to make graphics always default to Single Frame instead of Loop when you drag them from library to stage? It's kind of a pain to go to Properties > Looping > Options: Single Frame every time I drag a graphic instance.

the snow effect always acts like the top layer, ok what i mean is, i have 3 layers, (1)toplayer= a car, (2)middle= snow, (3)low= background.I want to make the snow to be seen behind the car...i hope you understand what i mean , whenever i put the code from the link above it acts as the top layer and appears in front of everything.
I'm trying to advance to the next frame after 3 seconds on my timeline using actionscript 3. Is there a way to do this? I have 1 image per frame on my timeline.
What kind of code can I use to contain this big slideshow script I have that calls an external XML file for pictures for a slideshow... and make it only play in a particular frame ("intro") ?
This is my first flash project and I am attempting to create a slide show that automatically changes frame after a certain time, but also have buttons for each frame. [URL] is the page where i have the flash slideshow on. I used a tutorial to make the nav bar, and used what I learned there, as well as some googling to attempt the slideshow. So far I think its turned out pretty good, but I have a problem. THe buttons work fine, but the auto change gets stuck on the second slide, even if I click to a differnet button to goes back to frame 2. Which makes me think that the function doesn't even go past the if(frame==1). here is the code

Anyway, to make it work, I added a whole bunch of frames between the moving images to pause it - to give reader time to see pictures and words - then it goes on to next one. instead of doing it this way, I am wondering if I can just put an action of some kind on a frame to tell it to pause for X number of seconds, then play again?
Is it possible to add layers, re-order layers, move movieclips from layer to layer or specify which layer a duplicate movieclip appears on at runtime with AS3?I am aware of the depth properties and the functions associated with that but it would be easier to have a concept of a layer because I am dealing with masks.I have a nasty feeling I'm gonna be told that layers don't really exist within an swf and that depths and setmask are all there is to work with.
Basically once my animation loads I want to pull in an external SWF at a specific frame, basically like the "home page" swf that will display first. Underneath that I will have "About Us, Contact, etc..." and those will each load an external SWF into my movie clip. My movieclip right now is called mcHolder. I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.
